ARK's base taming speed on PC, PS4, and Xbox is now doubled, meaning 1× is as fast as what 2× was previously. Dododex has been updated to reflect this. Use the "presets" dropdown for common multipliers.
For full Troodon taming details, get the taming calculator app.
To tame a Troodon, you must let it kill your tamed creatures. The effectiveness of each creature is determined by how much XP is gained by killing them. Since XP gain scales with a creature's level, higher level creatures are more effective. Babies and adults provide the same amount of XP.
To prevent your sacrifices from killing the Troodon, you can tranquilize it and/or weaken it yourself before feeding it to the Troodon, however, you cannot set it to passive. Taming multipliers do not appear to apply to the Troodon. This calculator is in Beta. Be sure to add a bit of extra XP to compensate for any errors. If your results don't match this calculator, report it.
A level 150 Troodon must be fed 2,072 XP worth of sacrifices during the night.
At lvl 72 with flak armor on, a lvl 5 Troodon knocked me out with one attack at night. Last thing I saw was those glowing eyes before passing out. My Guess is that they attack vital organs. Luckily my Doedicarus was up for a game of baseball and launched that little devil out into the stands.
I tend to become vicious,
Looking for something nutritious,
Between the hours ten and five at night,
So in the dark be ready for a fright,
I can be scared with something bright,
My venom is quite deadly,
And I use it very readily,
So if at night you see a glow,
It is proof you'd better go,
I like to hide in shadows
In forests, swamps or meadows,
Beware if we are together,
We rip quickly through cloth or leather,
Flak or fur,
We find it quite a lure,
And in the dark we sing this song,
To warn your friends away from our throng,
As we feast on your blood and flesh,
Then raise yet another demon kresh,
To kill humans in legions,
Especially in southern regions,
And then we dance 'til dawn,
And make you wish you'd never been born
A hiss is a sign of our presence,
A sound that many a survivor now resents,
So in the dark we creep along,
And sing this troodon song,
And as it is quite long,
It goes on until morning,
Then in the shade we begin mourning,
The brilliant night we had
This is the ultimate combo. Pego, troodons and seagulls
If you want to loot a guy without leaving a trace , here is how you do it.
1: pego problems, send a squadron of pegos to pick pocket your target just to piss them off.
2: seagull stealing, next send your seagull fleet to steal their items while they are chasing the pegos. If you are lucky, the seagulls will take the item they are using or the ammunition for the item
3: troodon terror, lastly, so they don’t know what happened, send your troodons to put them to sleep with their venom attack, they won’t know what hit them and you will walk away with all of their loot, if you are feeling like they have more stuff on them, grab narcotics and put them to sleep even more, then search his body. And boom free loot for the minimal price of lost tames. Hope this helps you pick pocket the alpha tribe!
Those eyes, they haunt me even when its venom knocked me out, and is slowly picking off my pack of low-level Allosaurus. Now I have a Troodon... Yay... The Troodon was level 180. My pack of Allosaurus were around level 20. 6 Allosaurus died that evening.
