Protectors of Pandora

Chapter 29 ~the trash chute~

The pengujas escaped the direbear who was chasing them, (it really just got bored, and it was still very sore.) and ran back to the cave where the others were preparing for the attack, “Ron! We got some intelligence!” Ping said hurriedly. “I doubt it.” Richard said, and the other wolves chuckled. “What did you learn?” Asked Ron. “So apparently the queen,” he looked around suspiciously as if someone could be watching them, “she wants.. chips” Ping replied as if this was important information. “Oh.. kay… I’ll take that into consideration..” Ron said rolling his eyes. “Anyway,” he said, “do I need to go over the plan again or do you all understand?” The creatures all nodded in understanding. “Ok, then we march.” Ron said.

The smaller creatures split up from the others and circled around to the back of the ice wyverns cave, they eventually got to the frozen waterfall that their entrance was behind. “Ok remember, we have to be quiet and wait for the attack before going in or we’ll get spotted.” Ron said in a whisper. They found a crevasse to the left of the waterfall that was just big enough for them all the squeeze through. When they were inside the cave behind the waterfall they waited the cave was dark and cold the only light was coming in through the ice, it had a teal coloration, it reeked of garbage in the cave and nobody was having a good time. eventually they heard the alarm sound, it was kairukus honking. “Silver (who was the managarmr) must’ve led some of the soldiers away, just a bit longer now.” Ron said, they walked through the cave until they reached the trash chute that would get them into the kitchens. “Help me get this grate off.” The grate was rusty and old (did I mention the queens castle was an old human base?) so it wasn’t hard to get off though it was nasty. They heard the sounds of mammoth, (roars? I don’t know what the word is..) and then many battle cries and howls from both sides, it seemed the attack was going well. “Now! Get in the chute!” Ron said in a hurried whisper. They clambered up the trash chute, Ron first followed by Ping and his ninjas, the rotten meat and fruit was not pleasant, their feathers had certainly seen better days… when they were almost to the top Ron slowly lifted up the trash chute’s lid and inspected the room, it was empty, the kitchen staff were either hiding or fighting. “All clear.” Ron said, he climbed out and shook off the ninjas after him, they used the kitchens towels to clean their feathers, they did this for two reasons, one the stink could give them away and two it was gross… then the sneaked through the icy halls and down the stairs into the dungeon. They were no guards anywhere, the attack must’ve drew everyone out. “Wow those fools don’t make a break in that hard, this is almost boring.” Wan said. “agreed.” Ron said. They stopped sneaking and walked down the stairs normally, this was a mistake. “Hey! who’s there!” The jailer angrily asked.
