A.Looking to tame a Diplocaulus
B.Just now able to access the Dungeons
I found my two Diplocauluses within the dungeon known as Cloven Burial grounds. But before you go, stock up on amber (click the amber icon in your inventory twice every 15 minutes and click on the video ad button) as they cannot be tamed inside of the dungeons so you have to kill them and harvest their implant, followed by reviving them using it. This is what I did. When revived from the dungeons their highlighted areas change color. I recommend going to the red obelisk as it is the safest journey of the three obelisks. Once tamed, I named my diplocaulus Violet Spectrum for her changing color. Upon bringing her home she looked lonely to me, and I didn’t want to give her a normal Diplocaulus to befriend just yet because her changing color isolated her from the rest of her species. So I went back to the red obelisk, went back into the Cloven Burial Grounds dungeon and from their the whole process repeated. Eventually I found a Diplocaulus shortly after killing a Moschops that I now wish I had harvested his implant. I ran up to the Diplocaulus, a beautiful male, who’s highlighted areas were currently light blue (comparable to cyan) and I killed him as they slowly went to a green color. By the time I have harvested his implant, his highlights are showing a shade of blue that could be used in a blue screen, particularly his belly (he flipped over when he died). From their I left the dungeon and respawned at the red obelisk, where Violet Spectrum had been patiently waiting for me. From their I revived the male Diplocaulus that I had killed earlier, and gave him the same treatment as I had given her: bola, tranq and feed. He, unlike Violet, ended up needing a few bio-toxins to keep him asleep, but nothing too much. Once he was tamed, I named him Neon and we all went home. To this day Neon and Violet Spectrum live in harmony in a place known as The Hidden Lake (it’s in the North parts of the island, close to the snowy areas but not in them).
Hopefully you enjoyed and hopefully it helps you if you are looking to tame a Diplocaulus, for whatever reason (Pet, Underwater Journey Helper, etc.)
I would go around the swamp and see these little guys getting absolutely demolished by every carnivore around,so I made it my priority to save them.I went into the swamp looking for a male and a female, took me 3 hours to find both.I made a small enclosure with water and plenty of space for them to walk around worry free,I also added frogs, snails, and dimetrodons so that they don’t get lonely.I know have 3 adults and 1 baby, and I plan on making a booger space for them to thrive in.Yes,that how much I love these creatures
I found this little buddy being attacked by Sarcos it was terrible and finnaly they had been killed I looked at this little guy knocking him out we spent much time together and I got Tidal her saddle and the Diplocalus was roaming around that area after that I decided naming him diplo then Dip! Once I got lost in the swamps but found him by making him follow me. now he is super strong and if we get 100 ups + I will have em fight a titanasaur!! >really hope he doesn’t die....< so he usually is harvesting meat and he’s stronger than my spino eek!

Steelslaughter here. I have a diplocaulus I named “Bomber”, and I just have him around as a companion. After long days of caving or hunting, I just sit on the seashore with him and my archaeopteryx,”Emerald”, and watch the sun set. A diplocaulus is just as important as any other life.
These are stupid ridiculous to tame. I tried with my tribemate to tame one. We spent 30 minutes just looking for it. Once we found it, I killed the snake. Then a Kapro ate it. So we kept looking. We found 2 more, a mated pair of 95. We don't care about level at this point. There was a convenient dino trap located where they were, so we used our Wyverns to push them in there. We got off, fell into the trap that had no way out, and all of a sudden, a raptor walks up the ramp and into the trap with us. We are able to kill it but our dragons flew off and we are now stuck in the trap. Then, a snake slithers its way through the wall, and starts attacking us. One of the diplos is dead, and manage to knock the snake out. We both fall asleep and pray the snake doesn't wake up. My tribemate manages to get his dragon close enough to him to pull himself out. I wake up and kill the snake. Our other Diplo is down to 50 hp. We decide to force feed it meat and wake it up to knock it out again. But some more Kapros have spawned. I walk my dragon over to kill them, but apparently the water was too deep. I fall off, my tribemate isn't on anymore, and I'm in the water. Piranhas, Kapros, and for some reason a frog all attack me. I'm dead, my dragon was just hovering, and I honestly don't care about the Diplo anymore. But I had a Giga on me so I had to go back. When I got back, I knocked it out again, and using the trusted Dododex, I fed it kibble and tamed it. I had two cryopods and one of them had the Giga in it. So I cryopodded my dragon and carried the Diplo back to the base. For all of that work, we only got one of the two Diplocauluses. But whatever.
