Misunderstood

Chapter 5: Help

Spitter stared at the human so hard he began to believe if he stared hard enough it would explode. It gave a him a puzzling look, tapping its foot.

What was this place? He glanced around, and realized he was in a small room. Their was no way out, and the human was in a separate little spot where he couldn’t reach due to a chain around his middle section.

The creature pointed to his muzzle, then to its face. It opened its mouth, and popped a vegetable inside. Was it asking him if he was hungry? He hissed at the thought.

Why had it not tamed him? He didn’t feel— Hmm. Was he tamed? He slithered in circle. Yep. Still in control of his body. Ok, he tried to shake the muzzle off—so he still definitely wanted to escape. Not tamed then. Right?

Maybe he was just worrying to much.

Oh boy. He was a little hungry, actually. Wait! Maybe he was BEING TAMED right now! No. That’s probably not how it worked.

He ducked his head and nodded at the human. It grinned again, hurried out the door, and shut it carefully behind it. He curled himself up and brooded for a moment. How would he escape? If he wasn’t tamed, what was he for? Did this human—not want to kill or tame him?

Was Zari right about those Sigi-ri-something-or-other?

No. They killed mother.

I’ll never forgive them.

So what’s wrong with this one?
