Chapter twenty: Elizabeth and Eric’s romance

Elizabeth and Eric lay on the raft, the ocean gently rocking it. Eric watched Elizabeth with a tender expression on his face. The moonlight cast its glow on her hair, making it shine. Eric still felt the same way about Elizabeth as he had when they were kids. He still loved her. Eric reached out and held her hand. “Elizabeth?” Eric asked. Elizabeth turned her head and smiled sweetly at him. “Yes?” She whispered. “Elizabeth…I love you. I’ve loved you since the day we met and every day we’ve spent together after that. I love you Elizabeth. I don’t have much to offer you but…when all this over will you marry me?” Eric asked. Elizabeth’s face and eyes lit up with joy. She locked eyes with Eric. “Yes. Yes Eric. I don’t think I can live a single day without you.” Elizabeth said. They scooted closer together. Their lips were suddenly touching. Eric could hear his heart beating loudly like a drum. A shock of joy filled him. He and Elizabeth. Together. No matter what happened they would be together forever.
