Chapter twenty three: Plans in motion.

“Ok here’s the plan. Hailey and Willow will take the left side of the house, Daniel and Jaron will take the left side, Peggie and Brutus will take the back, and me and Camille will take the roof. If we can’t apprehend the targets then eliminate them. Any questions?” Marvelo asked. Peggie raised her paw. “What?” Marvelo snapped. Can I switch partner? Brutus keeps trying to eat me.” Peggie whined. “No. Besides…If you die it’s one less loud mouth on the team.” Brutus grinned at Peggie and licked his lips. Peggie scowled and disappeared into Jaron’s coat. Hailey watched ass Marvelo scratched at his right hand’s wrist desperately. A triangular metal object was implanted in his wrist. It looked just like hers. She looked around far all the members of the team. All of them had one even Peggie and Brutus. Everyone except Camille. “Okay let’s go.” Marvelo said. They strapped on parachutes and jumped from the plane.

Hailey and Willow crept toward the left side of the building. “How do we get in if there’s a wall?” Hailey whispered. Willow smirked. “Think princess. My power is going through stuff.” Will said, sneering. “Oh.” Hailey said. Willow walked toward the wall, with Hailey close behind her. “Once I’m in, I’ll touch the wall so that you can come in.” Willow said. Willow’s implant began to glow silver and then she stepped though the wall. Hailey stood in front of it. The wall looked like water. It rippled and Hailey could see Willow through the wall. Hailey took a breath and ran toward the wall. *Kthunk!* Hailey hit the wall with a thunk. She fell to the ground, rubbing her head. The wall was solid again. Then the wall became ripply again and Willow walked back out, sneering. “Oops. I accidentally let go of the wall. My hair was…a bit messed up.” Willow lied. She didn’t look a tiny bit sorry. Hailey got to her feet and walked through the wall with Willow. They entered into the dining room. The room was seemingly empty. “They’re not in here. Come on let’s go check upstairs.” Willow said.

“All clear!” Daniel called from where he and Jaron were. “Clear!” Brutus called while growling. “Help!” Peggie called. “Clear! Brutus! Peggie! Stop fooling around!” Marvelo yelled. All of them except Hailey and Willow met in the living room. “I think Willow and Hailey are checking upstairs.” Camille said. “If all of them rooms are clear down here then where are the targets?” Daniel pondered. “Wait..if they’re not down her that must mean that their…” Marvelo started, looking toward the stairs. They all raced up the stairs. But it was to late. The door at the top of the stairs was locked shut and some kind of barrier shimmered around it so that no one could force the door open. “Hailey!” Jaron yelled. There was no answer.
