The tale of the shadow phoenixs.

Chapter twenty five.

James helped Jane out of the boat and unto the shore. “Sorry about that Jane.” James apologized. Jane smiled at him. “It’s okay James. Bye!” James said. James waved goodbye looking around for Tom. He spotted them over by Arianna. James took a deep breath and walked up to them. “Tom. We need to go. Now.” James said. Tom sighed. “I’ll see you later.” Tom told Leah. Leah smiled brightly. “See you later.” She replied.

Tom and James walked home. “Why are you in such a hurry to get him? I was gonna walk with Leah home.” Tom said. James sighed. “Mom and dad are probably waiting for us.” James replied. Tom frowned at his brother. He knew James was lying but didn’t say anything. They walked in silence till they came to their house. Their parents and Jenny were waiting for them, their parents with solemn expressions on their faces. “Hi mom, hi dad what going on?” James asked. “We’re leaving the day after tomorrow so say goodbye to your friends. " Edward said. “Why?” Tom asked. “Because you two will be king soon and first y’all have to practice.” Sophia said.

James stormed upstairs and Tom followed him quietly. James climbed into his bunk and pulled his blanket over his head. Tom sighed and sat on the edge of his bunk. “You okay James?” Silence followed for a second then james sat up pulling the blanket off him. “I don’t get it! Why do we have to go?! I don’t want to be king! I don’t want this…medallion!” James exclaimed angrily. He yanked at the medallion around his neck. “James..” Tom began. “Do you know how terrible it is knowing that if I die, that I’m stuck here and will just come back?!” James said. Tom gazed into James’ eyes. “Listen James. We may not like who we are but we can’t change that, we just have to live up to the life given to us.”
