Draconis tales chapter 1

A huge black fire wyvern swooped over the boiling magma of her volcanic home, alighting on a ledge containing a glowing red and black egg in a large nest,

She picked the egg up with her tail and held it to the light of the lava, inside she could see the small dark shape of a wyvling.

Her mate landed on the ledge with a resonating thud, "Hello" he said, dropping the carcass of a parasaur on the ground, "Hello" the first wyvern said, starting to roast the dinosaur for eating, after she'd eaten her fill, she threw open her leathery wings and took to the sky, scanning the horizon for prey, she spotted a titanoboa near a hot spring, instantly she started to dive for the bloated snake, as she got near it she drew up and shot a burst of flame, within seconds the unfortunate creature was nothing but a rigid stick of meat and bones.

Arriving back at the nest, she dropped the dead snake and walked over to her mate, "The egg is hatching!" He said,
