Chapter twenty five: Back.

“Drat! Why didn’t you close the window!!” Jay asked Sylvia. Sylvia rolled her eyes. “Well I was kinda busy sealing the DOOR!” She exclaimed. Jay grinned sheepishly. “Don’t move!” Marvelo shouted, pointing his pistols at the targets. “What happened to Willow?” Daniel asked worriedly. “Get away from my sister!” Jaron shouted. “Come back here rat!” Brutus growled. “HEEEEEELLLPPPP MEEEEEE!” Peggie screeched. “Peggie!! Brutus!! For the LAST time we’re on a mission!!! Focus!” Marvelo snapped, glaring at the hyenadon and the pegomastax. Jay stepped in front of Hailey and Brutus. He smirked at Marvelo. “Guess you can’t handle your team.” Jay said. “I can’t? Camille would you mind?” Marvelo asked. Camille unfolded her wings and then thrust them out. A huge power wave knocked Jay, Sylvia and Hailey off their feet. Jaron ran over to them. He pulled Hailey to her feet and behind him. He pointed a hand at Jay’s face. “Don’t move freak!” Jaron shouted. A knife formed in his hand. Jay blinked. “Wait Jaquin- I mean Jaron no! That’s Jay! He’s our brother! Remember?” Hailey asked. Jaron blinked and stared at Jay. A hint of remembrance sparked in his eyes. His hand began to shake and the dagger disappeared and reappeared then disappeared again. “J-Jay?” Jaron whimpered. Jay nodded and held his hand out. “Put the dagger down. It’s me Jay.” Marvelo fired his pistols repeatedly at the ceiling over their heads. “ENOUGH! Get them!” He shouted. Camille flew toward the targets and Hailey and Jaron at a remarkable speed. “No wait!” Hailey called. But it was to late she was going to fast…. she was going to hit them. Hailey let out a shrill scream. “NO! NOBODY HURTS MY HAILEY!!!” Brutus growled. Just in the nick of time Brutus lunged in front of Hailey. Suddenly he had grown bigger. The size of half a mammoth. He let out a loud growl that shook that the whole house. Brutus grabbed Camille between his teeth and shook her like a rag doll then flung her across the room. She flew out the window and hit a building nearby. Peggie raced across the room to Jaron and hid inside his jacket. “Don’t let Brutus see me.” She whimpered. Jay dove out from behind Brutus and dove into Marvelo, knocking him over.

“What are you doing Brutus? The targets are our enemies.” Daniel asked. “‘Our’ is a collective term.” Sylvia declared. She winke do at him and a small portal opened underneath him. “Ahh!” Daniel screamed as he fell through it. (Don’t worry he didn’t die)

Marvelo and Jay faced off close by. “Face the truth Jay, you’ll never beat me.” Marvelo said pointing his pistols at Jay. “Hmm…that’s debatable. Maybe it would be a fairer fight if you didn’t hide behind those pistols.” Jay said sarcastically. Marvelo scowled. “Fine.” Marvelo snarled. Jay grinned. Marvelo slid his pistols into place by his sides. Then he raised his hands and a couch nearby rose up. Marvelo waved his hand as if throwing a invisible ball. The couch flew towards Jay. Jay was to shocked to move. Jay fell to the ground with the couch smashing him. “Jay!” Sylvia shouted. A portal opened under Marvelo and he fell down into it. Sylvia ran over to Jay. She pulled the couch off him and pulled him to his feet. She opened a portal. “Jay we have to go. Any minute the rest of the team will be back. We don’t stand a chance! We have to go!” Sylvia said. “But what about-” Willow lunged at the them with a dagger in hand, a look of anger in her eyes. Sylvia pulled Jay through her portal.

“Raggggghhh!” Marvelo exclaimed angrily. “We lost them!!! Ugh grab Hailey and Jaron!” He yelled. “With pleasure.” Willow replied, grinning evilly. Willow went after Hailey but Brutus stepped in front of her, growling all the way. “Move.” Willow demanded. “NEVER!” Brutus snarled. Suddenly a sword pierced his chest and he began to shrink. “Brutus!” Hailey cried. “Brutus!” Jaron cried. “I can’t believe I’m saying this but- Brutus!” Peggie cried. “Sorry Brucie. A job is a job.” Daniel said sadly. Brutus moaned in pain. Hailey ran for him but Daniel captured he in his well muscled arms. “Let me go! Brutus! Brutus!” Hailey screamed. A needle pierced her elbow. Not again! Jaron was knocked out close by. “Jay! Jay! He-help-p m-me.” Hailey stuttered, her mind shutting down. But Jay was gone. It was all over. She was going back. Back to that castle of chaos. That land of destruction. That kingdom of despair. Back. Back to that house. That house of madness.
