I'm probably missing something but I wouldn't recommend taming them if you don't live in the snow area because of the risk of going all the way to north for this not that usefull mount. I tamed one and i haven't found a use for him since then. Imprint a Raptor or tame a dire wolf instead. It's not worth your time.

Do you want a boss killer ? Well I got you , first we need too prepare !

Firstly , get your tranq equipment , tranq darts , arrows and shocking tranqs work the best in my opinion ( use toxicant arrows if on mobile ) also , I would suggest bringing good weapons to shoot the tranqs out of a mastercraft or ascendant work best

You can use a trap if you want but it’s not needed if you have ok stam and speed , Rex’s aren’t the fastest of creatures .

Now that you have everything ready it’s time to find a good Rex ! You can find them almost everywhere from my experiences.

Now if you don’t use a trap all you gotta do it’s play ring around the Rosie . Once knocked out feed prime , mutton or there desired kibble and then boom ! You have yourself an boss killing machine

New mobile is borderline unplayable and ruined bc the spawn rate of these is to high. Ark needs to dial back the spawn on these.

As of 2 July, 2022, they eat meat. I just spent a few minutes panicking because it ate all its seeds in the span of a few seconds and I saw they eat meat so I tried it. They DO EAT MEAT

If you want to tame one of these, but can not locate one, and have good directional hearing, these are it’s approximate voicelines:

Idle/Wandering: OH-HUH-HUH-OH-HUH!

Idle/Wandering 2: OOH-HAH-ARGH.

Upon being tamed/waking up after sleeping: (low pitched) HOO-HO-HU-HA-HAH!

Scared: TAH! WUH- WUH!

Dead: AGH!

U see 1 you tame and go to tame say a argy and then oh no ur otter friend is still on your shoulder when you get jumped by 3 tek armour guys on lv290 pts and a argy also 2 ascendent flak armour on 2 rex another tek guy on a giga so U throw otter at giga and kill giga and rider next he jumps onto rex and bites riders head off then proceeds to pop out eyes of rex and nibble on fish but U get picked by a pt but a piece of fish that ur otter was eating went into the pts throat and it chokes and falls out of the sky U land on the other rex rider and kills them then u pick up ur otter like a gun and shoot poo ammo taking out the enemy argy and it dies then ur otter takes of its top hat and gets a rabbit that flys over to the last pt and it dies and now U have 4 full tek sets and 2 ascendent flak and you tame the argy.
