I got a alpha and a few normal megs to follow me into the shallow pool at herbivore island and then lured some stegos into the water by shorting them with from my raft to get them killed my the megs and few moments later the stegos come swimming out of the water and the alpha is dead and I was probably lvl 20 at the time and there was the normal megs left and stuck and I ended up tamming them with the meat off the alpha so I was able to leave herbivore island with a anky and megs to follow me and they even killed a leed for me on the way back lol

As I was riding my Icthy looking for megs to tame and boy did I find them . Suddenly I turned around and there are 2 alphas and around 19 normal megs chasing me . Luckily I was on my level 87 Icyhy so I was able to swim away with 1 third health
