Protectors of Pandora

Chapter 34 ~feasting and fighting~

“So how’s the fruit, Nash san.” Xu said. “It’s uhh, fruit.. I’m actually an insectivore.” Nash said. “Oh, many apologies! I will have the servants fetch you some delicious insects.” Xu said, “Joe, can you take sir Nash’s plate and bring him some insects instead.” He said to a mesopithicus servant, the meso looked at the plate and back at Xu. “Yes, you can eat the fruit.” He told the meso, it excitedly grabbed the plate and rushed off. (Most mesos are dumb, remember Caesar and Salizar were experimented on) the meso came back with a bowl filled with bugs and Nash ate appreciatively. “So, where do you hail from small one?” The king asked. “It’s hard to explain. I come from far away, from a place called Pandora.” Nash said. “Hmm pan-do-ra, interesting I’ve never heard anything of it.” The king said. “you wouldn’t have, like I said, far far away.” Nash said

When the feasting had ended Nash was escorted to a room to prepare for his fight, the room was very luxurious, it was made of marble and gold and had its own pool, or rather a bath tub, Nash was quite small compared to dinopithicus. He was told it was the kings guest room, and he believed it. He had no need to polish his armor or buff his sword as they were new, so he decided to relax. A few hours later a knock came at the door, it was Xu. “Nash san, it is time.” Nash followed Xu out of the room and through the halls. “Nash san, I must warn you, the kings son is a monster, he will not have mercy, or honor… but do not abandon your own.” Xu said. “I won’t let you down Xu, thanks, for everything.” Nash said.

Nash stepped out into the arena, it was a large colosseum. of course it was made of gold and marble. Nash wondered if this city was built off of plundering and conquering, or if gold was just abundant on this ark. “Today loyal subjects! We gather to watch as this small knight attempts to face… MY SON!” The king said in a booming voice, there was great cheering and hooting when everyone found out who was fighting, “the young knight wishes to take one of the dinopithicus high kings artifacts, but he must earn it!” The king said. “Please Welcome to the ring, my son, PRINCE CALDREN!” The prince walked out of a large gate, he was twice the size of the other dinopithicus and he was bulkier, he wore a rex skull as a pouldron, and wore red body paint in the form of stripes all over his brutish body, his fur was jet black and he seemed to be blind out of one eye. he was holding a massive mace. “Oh did I forget to mention, young knight, that my late queen was the gigantopithicus princess?” The king said. “Great.” Nash mumbled under his breath. “You, die, now.” Caldren said. “Nay, it is you who shall be vanquished this day fiend!” Nash said, (he tends to speak like that when he gets nervous.) “I not know what you words mean but I smash you.” The prince said. “A heck of a king you’ll make..” Nash said. Caldren roared and lunged at Nash with the huge mace, Nash leapt out of the way and said. “What to good for a sword?” “Mace better for squish.” The prince said. Nash flew over Caldrens head and slashed at his back, this only sent the brute into a rage, Nash has no choice but to flee as the hybrid chased him around the arena. “This is even better than I expected!” The king said. Xu was not as excited, “sire perhaps-” “silence hunter, I am trying to watch.” The king said. Nash couldn’t fly for much longer, especially with this armor, his wings ached. Then he had an idea, he flew up to the top of the colosseum and landed on a pillar. “Hey prince halfblood!” He said mockingly “Why you up there! Me can’t smash!!” Caldren said angrily. “What, to weak to throw that mace up here?” Nash said “I SHOW YOU!” Caldren shouted, he grabbed the mace in both hands and threw it over his head, it shashed into the pillar so hard it got stuck, “HA me smash!!” He said triumphantly. “Hey big guy, down here!” Nash said, standing under the pillar. “Huh?!?” The prince said bewildered, “why you not dead!!” He shouted. “Probably because you suck at throwing maces.” Nash said, the crowd gasped. “YOU SAY ME NO THROW GOOD!!” Caldren shouted. “Yup.” Nash said. “AAARRGHH!” The prince shouted, in a blind rage he leapt at Nash, punching the pillar. “Uh hey, down here.” Nash said. Caldren looked down at him. He aimed a bit too high with his punch and missed Nash. He angrily grabbed Nash in his huge fist and started to squeeze. “Look… up…” nash said breathlessly. “Huh?” Caldren said, he looked up and saw his mace slowly coming unstuck, it fell with a crumbling sound and fell slightly spinning, it landed right on his head. He dropped Nash stunned and then Nash out of pure instinct delivered the final blow with his sword. The crowd gasped and went silent. After a moment the king sat up in his throne. “You killed my son.. YOU’VE KILLED MY SON!”
