The ferox fire chapter 8

The giant turtle slowly grabbed an entire small tree and chewed it up before it walked back out of the cave and swam away.

"brilliant, Now we're stuck here" Death said.

"Unless there's another way out" the tiny bloodstalker swung around the cave on silk for a few seconds, when she dropped back down, she said "nothing, that was the only entrance"

"We'll have to wait for another of those turtle thingies" Mischief said.

"I think it's called a megachelon, I heard about them from a bloodstalker who travelled across the biomes with a survivor"

A pack of what looked like very spiky pulmonscorpius crawled across the floor towards them.

"What are tho-" Mischief started to say, before he was paralysed by one of the beasts, Death caught a few in silk, but soon one of them stung her and she immediately curled her tentacles into a sphere to stop the creatures attacking more.

The venomous monstrosities scuttled towards the tubby mushroom creature, which was trying to disguise itself as a normal mushroom, several stung the little thing.

The mushroom started making an odd whining noise, then it clutched at it's temples as if it had suddenly developed a headache and started inhaling so much air it actually inflated until was nearly spherical,

It's cap started to split and crack, the mushroom creature made a slight squeaking noise before it's cap exploded, spraying the most massive explosion of fungal spores Mischief had ever seen through the air, it was even bigger than the spore clouds of the golden capped spidershroom that had fought for the master of the bog.

The pulmonscorpius creatures made chittering screams and exploded into patches of fungus, all of which instantly came to life as even tinier versions of the mushroom creature.

The original mushroom creature, now with cracks around the top of it's stalk and totally lacking the red, white spotted cap that it had had before faceplanted it's blue cylinder and was sucked inside.
