The Crystal Lands

Chapter 26

"Um." Vein turned redder than she was ever.

'Oh, Blood,' she cried, 'please let him say yes.'

"Uhh.." Hurricane stuttered. "Y-yes," he answered. "I had always loved you and your rebellious ways, it was brave and smart and I never thought I had the right body to do anything until I met you."

'Oh, wow,' Vein thought. 'Really?'

"BUB-BORPH BON!" Chroneo bellowed.

"WUNGRY! FUNGRY!" Deuvo screamed.

"I think they're hungry," Hurricane observed with a hint of laughter. "After we warn King Scorch," Vein pointed out, "that's our first priority."

"Nuu," disagreed Chroneo.

"Let's go," said Hurricane as they took off with Unnigh and Deuvo. Somehow Chroneo was flying.

"Wook at meeee!" He screamed happily.

"I'll catch him if he falls," Hurricane positioned himself under Chroneo.

They grew nearer to the main throne room.

"I don't think they would want Wyvernets, stay here with them," Hurricane suggested as he flapped in.

"I fwy gweat!" Chroneo said.

"Yes you do," Vein agreed. Deuvo tackled Unnigh who was busy writing something in the dirt.

Wait, writing? Is Unnigh a mute?

'Well, obviously,' her brain suggested. 'Haven't you noticed?'

"Deuvo, stop."

Vein picked up Unnigh as Deuvo ran over to Chroneo and put her where she was.

"Write something."

Small wing talons brushed over the dirt area next to the Phoenix Palace. It spelled, "I'm hungry too," in big, messy letters with many spelling mistakes.

"Oh, do you want a tablet for writing you can carry?" Vein asked. Unnigh nodded. "Cool."

Hurricane stumbled out, escorted bt guards.

"Let me go!" He said. "I was warning you, not spreading rumors!"

"Save it for the tropicals, once you have served your time in prison for threatening the king."

"PHHTH! I WAS NOT THREATENING!" He bellowed after being taken away into a dark tunnel.

'Oh, no,' Vein thought.

Chapter 27

Vein had flown all the way back to The Valley with the wyvernets to drop them off.

"TAKE THEM, IT'S URGENT!" She yelled as she dropped them.

"Wha- what's going on?"

Blicket, who was on guard for the night, asked.

"NO TIME!" Vein flew away, back to the palace.

She got there, and landed on the dirt area.

'Hmm, which tunnel was it?' She thought curiously.

'Ah!' Looking at the right tunnel, Vein flew hard. As hard as possible.

Diving into the path-tunnel thing, she started to hear screams of "WHAT DID I DO!" And "WHY AM I HERE! HELP!"

"VEIN! HELP ME!" The voice she was looking for. "Hurricane!" Vein answered.

"Halt!" A guard said.

Vein blasted acid blood all over him, melting him and a few more guards.

"There you are," Hurricane's releaved sigh sounded.

"Wow, they lock these wyverns up for no reason?" She asked.

"I don't know, probably a bit overprotective of the king."

"Yeah," Vein agreed with Hurricane.

"Vein? Is that you?"

She whipped her head around, scanning the hopeless wyverns.

"Father?" She said, seeing the familiar bright red scales. "Father!"

She melted Hurricane's cage bars with her blood and ran over to Acid's cage.

"Father! I missed you," she cried.

Vein tried to spit blood on the cage bars, but they were reinforced with something.

"Let me try," Hurricane froze the metal and cracked it, sending it falling to the floor.

"Thanks," Acid said, coughing. "They don't give us much water."

"LET US OUT, TOO!" There was atleast twenty other wyverns in here.

"Fine," she said.

With Hurricane, they let a storm of tropic and blood wyverns out. Obviously the ember wyverns knew if they were going to far.

"Father, meet my mate, Hurricane."
