Toxic Tales: Chapter 16

Eris

"You named it?" Asked the velonasaur.

"Her name is Achelois."

"Whatever makes you happy," mocked the velonasaur. Asclepius looked in horror as the cages opened, the magmasaur ran out of the cage, roaring incoherently.

"Well your friend won't last to long, that magmasaur has been in here quite literally since he hatched, he's completely unhinged,"

"That's horrible, how did humans get ahold of a magmasaur egg?"

"Poison wyverns, they drop their prisoners off by the Great Division and humans track them down to capture them, after a raid they got an egg and left it, the humans found it and here he is."

"Why would the wyverns do that?"

"They don't care, they could wipe out the humans in a moon, and it's not like these fights hurt them." Achelois flapped her wings and flew above the magmasaur, who started glowing brighter and brighter.

"I hope your friend knows what she's doing."

A blast of molten metal flew from his mouth, just skimming her tail. She shot poison back at him, hitting his side. She flew behind him while he stumbled after her, diving down onto his back, biting his neck. He roared and thrashed, desperately trying to get her off his neck while she bir down harder. Once she let go he was barely moving, his chest heaving and he had stopped roaring. Achelois walked back into the cage and was dragged back into the hallway.

"Guess who it is!" Shouted a voice down the hall, "velo, I'm hiding in your cage until I can steal someone's food."

"That's Eris, keep on eye on your food or she'll take a chunk out of it."

"I'll steal it even if you watch it," she snapped, "anyway, what happened to your arm?"

"I got bit by a baryonyx today," Asclepius explained.

"That doesn't look like you got it today," she said. Asclepius looked down at his arm and could see the glimmering of the rock as the scars healed in front of him..

"How are you doing that?" She asked.

"I don't know, I think it's this rock," he showed them the glimmering stone in his arm.

"Hold on," said Eris, she turned her head to the side, revealing a long scar running down her head and on her eye, he saw the grayed out eye glimmering in a hexagonal pattern, "when I focus I can see things that aren't there, are the stones doing this to us?"

"I guess, the wyvern who just fought has one too, it let's her read minds when she makes contact with someone. What things are you seeing?"

"Depends, sometimes I see creatures that aren't there."

"What do you mean creatures who aren't there?" Asked the velonasaur.

"They aren't there, I can't touch them but they look almost cloud-like, they talk to me sometimes, I don't know what they mean, they tell me to find the others, to save the wyverns, and all sorts of crazy things."

"Find the others?"

"They say that I need to find the wyverns, the allo, and 'it' I'm not sure what 'it' is though, and that I need to go beyond the Great Division."
