There was a tip that said it can't damage wood. I built a trap made entirely of wood and lured 10 of them into the trap. They then broke the trap and killed me. Use stone for traps, not wood.

Getting a TLC patch in March 2018 to add howl that will initiate the pack bonus for 5 minutes, will be able to sniff out players or creatures with less than 50% health, and will be able to detect explorer notes.

I tryed to trap one but the whole pack followed me in so now I have 6

They can sniiff out hidden animal and also can sniiff out explorer nots and artifact

The dirwolf is excellent for caves, especially in packs. Use for sniffing out explorer notes also.

Vicious and lightning fast, the Dire Wolf is a great all-around mount for adventuring and attacking. I highly recommended to bring packs of Dire Wolves for any hostile situation. Whether it be kill Alphas, or raid bases, it's size, agility, and damage make for a deadly beast.

Best dino for early game.

Doesnt heed much arrows to tame , just stand on top of a rock and shoot at it. Once tamed it doesnt need a saddle to be ridden. And believe me when i say it absolutly shreds anything!!

Very important early tame although it may be difficult, it doesn't require a saddle and it gathers lots of hide which is difficult to get early in game

The speed to outrun wolves is 111 movement speed
