Narco watched, frozen in horror as his sister was swept away. Wind tore at his fur as the gray wave rushed past him, carrying objects and creatures he recognized.

Raincloud's trembling voice broke through the stunned silence. "Where did Silentstrike go?" He whimpered, clinging tight onto Moon's neck.

"She's gone." Moon said, obviously trying to sound calming to cover the fear in his voice.

The three brothers waited for the wave to retreat back to The Lake. When, after what seemed like hours, it finally did, Narco was the first to climb down. He wanted to find his twin more than anything, he didn't care about the thirst clawing at his dry throat or the hunger that gnawed at his stomach.

Narco carefully slid down the steep hill. His talons touched the soaked ground, sinking under his weight. But he picked his legs up and kept going, looking out upon the vast destruction. Moon and Raincloud followed him, the mud behind Narco squelching as they hit the ground.

Trees, tree limbs, stones, corpses and other disturbing objects were strewn across the flattened ground.

There was no way Silentstrike could have survived this destruction, Narco thought with dismay. But they could at least find her body.

"We need to find Silentstrike.." Narco turned to Moon, his voice cracking, "whether she be dead or alive, we need to find her."

Moon's expression was grim. "We may not be able to," he reasoned, "with all this destruction. We have to take care of ourselves first."

Narco nodded slowly, greif igniting his thoughts. "I do know one thing, though. We can't stay here. We have to move with the tribe."

"You may be right," Moon mused solemnly, "but it's going to be hard to convince the tribe. This has been our homeland for centuries."

"There's a first for everything! What if more lives die because we care about traditions? What if-" Narco stopped abruptly, a sob forming in his throat. "What if you or Raincloud die?"
