Chapter three

Sarah and Kalmar were quick to learn, it didn’t take long before they learnt how to kill a pack of raptors in a few seconds with an assault rifle. They learnt how to bring down groups of enemies with a grenade. But they didn’t know why they were learning these things, but they carried on anyway. John was a good teacher, but was relatively mysterious. When they asked a question, they barely got an answer, unless it was related to their training, but one day, they decided to ask why he was training them.

“John, what exactly are you training us for?” Kalmar asked.

“Well, you’ve finally decided to ask, I’m training you to survive.” He replied.

“What do you mean, we can survive perfectly out here without guns and grenades.”

“Not against Steelhide you can’t.”

“Who’s Steelhide?” Sarah asked, walking up to them.

“Steelhide Is the king of the fertile region. Bullets bounce of his scales, his claws and teeth break metal, and he’s faster than any person, or dinosaur, in aberration.”

“How are we meant to kill him then?” Sarah asked.

“Bullets don’t hurt him, but they can hold him back, grenades burn his hide, but they can kill if we get them in his mouth.”
