The titanoboa tightened its grip on Silvermane's neck suddenly, there was a loud snap, and the argent went limp. The boa left its victim and slithered back up the tree. It turned its head and looked at Corvi with its remaining eye. "Learn thisss lesson little one." It hissed and leaned closer. "I may lose the battle, but I win the war. Alwaysss." In one bite, it snatched up Corvi's remaining two siblings and slithered back down the tree. It curled around Silvermane's corpse and as it dragged its catch away, hissed back to Corvi, "We will meet again, little one." Corvi curled up in the corner of the nest, alone. She burned the snake's face into her mind. "We will meet again," she whispered. "And you'll wish we hadn't."
