Aberrant deinonychus
Chapter six
I looked at the human who had just saved us, he was tall and his skin was tan-ish, but it was more light. He had ruffled black hair and green eyes.
“Well, do ya,” he asked.
Of course, Leo spoke first.
“Oh well, I’m Leo, and this is Ripper” he said, gesturing toward me.
“Why did you save us,” I asked.
“Well, you needed help, I need some shelter, and you guys have gotta have a den around here somewhere.”
Me and Leo talked on it privately for about thirty minutes, before finally coming to the conclusion that he could stay, as long as he pulled his weight and didn’t cause any problems.
“You can come with us, as long as you don’t free load, and also, try not to cause problems where non already exist,” I said.
“You got it,” he said.
When we were getting close to the den, the smell of fresh blood lingered in the air. I decided not to say anything, as it might have just been a predator eating a kill nearby. But when we got back to the den, it’s walls were smeared in thick, dark red blood. At the back of the cave, three Ravagers were fighting over some scraps of what used to be a creature.
“What on the Ark are those,” Carter asked.
“Ravagers,” Leo growled.
“Should I kill ‘em,” Carter asked.
Before Leo could answer, the three Ravagers all looked at us. They all lunged at us. Carter shot one in the face, killing it and spraying even more blood everywhere. I pounced at another, ripping into its stomach. Leo crushed the other one’s head. My Ravager was bleeding out on the ground. I decided to mercifully stab it in the eye with my sickle claw. Leo was looking somberly at the mutilated pile of flesh lying on the ground.
“She didn’t deserve to die,” Leo said.
“No, she didn’t,” I said.
“She will be missed dearly” Leo said, sadness lining his words.
“Guys, I’m right here,” said a voice from behind them.
I turned around, and sure enough, it was Berry.

Shadow, thank you so much for the support- I’m relatively new as a writer here and Sickles and Scythes was just me being bored. I put out the first few chapters to see how it would fare, and your comment inspired me to continue it. Fun fact- I called it Sickles and Scythes because the name deinonychus means terrible claw- based on the eight inch sickle claw on its feet.
P.S I’m a nerd, a love dinos

The aberrant deinonychus
Chapter one
Ripper woke up. He was surrounded by darkness, except for the light from the hole he fell through. But when he fully opened his eyes, the trees and Dinos around him glowed. He stood up ad looked around. He appeared to have landed on a patch of mushrooms. Just than, he heard a loud roar behind him. He whipped around to see nothing. Or at least, that’s how it looked. Then, on top of a rock, a creature began appearing before his eyes. It looked somewhat similar to him. It was a quadrupedal lizard, with feathers on it’s tail, arms, and head. All the creatures nearby seemed to run in fear at its sudden arrival, so ripper did the same, ducking behind some bushes. But the lizard seemed to notice him, as it slowly creeped towards his hiding spot…

I am losing braincells and laughing on the floor at both of your "arguements"
I feel like DAN(dododex lord) should stop this this is getting WAY TOO FAR
DTG, you don't know how hard I am laughing right now. Also, sTOP aCTinG lIkE a ImMaTUre ChIlD oR I wIll flIp a TaBle aT yOu
P. Metallica, rocks have no mouths therefore they cannot eat dirt and have no digestive system. They are probably more like plants in a way they have microscopic things that might be similar to a plant's but different, since the structure would probably not be able to be a plant and support all of that with nothing that looks like it could get sunlight or air, although it could have a stone stem and roots, but roots wouldn't really be possible since when you mine rocks they flip over without any roots. So it could be a new fungi or huge bacteria, or kingdom, even, if it were to actually survive. By the way, I know you were probably joking.

P.M.
If it's an alternative universe...then the creatures could POTENTIALLY have even lower lifespans 😐
Emphasis on the "potentially".
Meaning the yuty would live...let's say ten years 😂. Also 300 is not possible for a creature that uses its bones and muscles so damn much, because they would start to weaken...and yeah...
-DTG
Yeah, but if they were big then-
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I can't continue arguing since Seasnake betrayed me...
SEE THE LIGHT SEASNAKE...PLEASE!
YOU PROBABLY DON'T EVEN RESEARCH POLITICS!
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I mean, I always expected Seasnake to be a Democrat, but...I never thought it would be this painful...
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
No, I'm not a Republican, but still...
-DTG
DTG, firstly, from that perspective.
• lions can live for about twenty years or more, but something usually kills them first.
• these yuties live(or lived)on valgeuro, which is a
non-official ARK map, so they probably weren't made artificially.
• one thing I can agree on, as in the explorer notes it is said(by Helena walker to be precise)that megalodons, at least, mature in a week, mate every week, and have a gestation of. . . Yep, you guessed it, a week,
However, remember that creatures in ARK are generally spawned by the overseer, not bred, the overseer has a stash of DeoxyriboNucleic Acid of every creature, plant, and apparently rock
(the rocks in ARK must in fact be a relative of rock elementals who have permanently buried their organic bodies in the ground and eat dirt)
on the ARK, so it wouldn't matter how fast they breed or how long they live, being very practical, the overseers probably just made their creatures live for ages so they didn't have to make them too often, they simply make two batches, spawn one and stockpile the other.
Also, remember, as people who have played since early access and have one favourite tame they've kept all the five-ish years since ARK first appeared, the creatures just live for ever, so do the characters, you can have a character who lives for say, six hundred years, if you've played a long time, also, something indirectly implied in TIOTG, creatures which really would've lived about a year(tuso for instance)can live aaaaaaaages in the ARK universe, even if this is in an AU
(Alternate Universe as you obviously know),
So, eeehh
Dark Fate,
-/\-Epilogue-/\-
30 years later...
Three obilisks had grew over the past weeks since the battle. Green, blue, and red. A mysterious object formed where the queen died, nobody knows what it does. It was a diamond blotted with yellow spots. Blicket had chosen to keep it and lived near the Green Obelisk on the island where she buried Flame and Wildew. Quinter was with her. Hurricane and Vein had settled
under the Green Obelisk on a small river. Vein was pregnant again. Hurricane has fully healed and was up to full strength. Darkwater lived alone and had a cave on a mountain.
Something is coming to shake the earth.
Something is coming to scorch the ground.
Crystal Isles is falling beneath a deadly quake.
And one more will be lost and not found..
(Dramatic pause)
Hurricane awoke in his hut. A small rumble woke him up. He looked outside and glanced around. It seemed alright under the Green Obelisk, but he saw a dust cloud near the Red Obelisk. The Obelisk lay on the ground.
"Vein. Vein!" Hurricane called, his voice shaking. "Come here!"
Vein strolled out, glancing around worriedly. "What?"
"The Red Obelisk fell!" Hurricane saw the Blue Obelisk crack from far away, making a deafening sound. Vein's eyes widened. "What if the Green Obeli-"
A monstrous sound drowned out her voice. Hurricane froze. Looking up, he saw the Green Obelisk brake in half.
"RUN!" He bellowed, pushing Vein as she stumbled on.
Giant black shards fell from the sky. Hurricane pushed Vein as they dodged the death downfall. He looked up and saw a giant rock falling from the sky, directly on top of them.
'There's no way we can make this!' Hurricane thought with dismay.
'Maybe I can't.. But she can!'
"GO!" Hurricane yelled. "FLY!"
Before she had time to protest, Hurricane grabbed Vein and used the rest of his strength to thrust her out.
"Please.. SAVE YOURSELF!"
Hurricane felt a piercing pain.
And then a shocking darkness.

Dark Fate
Chapter 4
Darkwater awoke and crept outside, glancing to make sure nobody was watching. He picked up a few rocks and set them down, wondering what he could do with these, "powers" and what kind of powers.
Trying to pick the rock up with his mind, it did not budge. OK. Well, something else now.
Darkwater huffed in frustration as he tried to pick up one of the heavier rocks. Not strength.
After trying everything he could think of, he dropped into the snow.
'Am I ever going to even have powers?'
* * *
"Darkwater!"
His mother's voice sounded from the dome. Apparently, Darkwater fell asleep in a little snow-hole thing.
"Yes?" He said.
"We're going for a walk on the mountain. Don't worry, we're just patrolling the territory around here."
"Okay. Let's go."
Grasped in Vein's back talons, Darkwater saw the ground fall away and then move. They headed to the mountains as tropeognathus zoomed by. Blicket and Flame were watching the dome. They had Quinter in Hurricane's talons.
After a lot of flying, they reached the mountains.
"So," Deuvo said, "what's it like here?"
"Dunno," Chroneo and Unnigh shrugged.
"Rocky, dry, cold. We're going to start near the bottom, ish." Father explained as they flew down to a lower-than-middle spot, about half way to the bottom from the middle.
They landed on a swirling path going upwards.
"Quinter can hunt, we can gather crystals on the way."
'That makes me hungry,' Darkwater thought as he was released from his mother's talons.
The seven slowly made their way up the mountain. It was freezing! Hurricane killed several carnos and other threats as they walked, to protect Darkwater, who was stumbling up the slope.
'Maybe my powers will come,' he thought enthusiastically, 'maybe.'
After some walking, Vein suggested that she and the three embers could take a small hunt with Quinter up ahead.
"Sure," Hurricane said, "you can also scout for any ledges or anything dangerous.
"Darkwater, how are you hanging on?"
Father questioned as they left.
"I'm fine, bu-" He was cut off by several icy cold rocks tumbling from the top.
"That's not a good sign," Hurricane cautioned.
Several more fell, booming over the quiet landscape.
"Fly!" His father ran to the ledge, but before he could pick me up, fumbling rocks and snow and ice flew from the peak, pushing Hurricane, who was protecting Darkwater, off the cliff.
The rocks tore Hurricane's wings.
His heart skipped a beat as they neared closer.. And closer.. And then they banged against rocks as a mixture of boulders and ice tumbled down, burying them.
…Is Moon the one writing Journey? I dunno who, as they don’t sign it, but I was just wondering. If they have permission, my apologies if they see this and think I’m insulting them. I’m not attempting to. If it’s Moon, again, no offense, but it doesn’t seem like you writing. If it’s someone without permission, you should’ve asked and Moon PROBABLY would’ve been fine with it.
-Ranger
I spawned in on Valguero white cliffs 1. I saw it and thought “that’s a cool looking raptor thing,” apparently, they are about as friendly as raptors, because it immediately killed me.
160 levels and 302 hours later, I just got killed by one......twice...... in 5 minutes.
I then finally figured out how to fight them. You bring the biggest, strongest dino you can get and............... oh..... there goes my Giga......
As I was saying, never use a big strong Dino to fight them, ranged weapons only.
Have a good one.
