The Omega Timeline Chapter Twelve: Oddities and Confusion Part One
Andrew, Freya, Erica and Sylas walked through the night. Everything seemed normal going through the wasteland, except for having normal corrupted creatures and that they went through a normal day/night. It was extremely quiet walk through the wasteland. But as dawn broke they stepped into what seemed like a different dimension. They walked into an older looking city that seemed to be a strange mix of old and older buildings compared to what Erica and Andrew were use to. None of which felt like they fit together like a real city.
As they continued walking through the streets, they noticed that both humans and animals walked them. With some of the animals talking to humans. This confused all four of them.
“I guess it isn’t only monkeys that speak here.” Sylas said,
“Why is anything talking here? Sure, parrots can repeat what humans say and apes are known to learn sign. But nothing can speak and converse with humans in deep dialogue. So why is everything talking here? We’ve gone into complete fiction!” Erica said.
“You mean more fiction than giant space stations that hold most of what remains of Earth’s life?” Sylas remarked, Erica looked over at him and gave him a deathly glare.
“Guys, quit arguing about what is fiction and nonfiction. It’s not helping out our situation. All we know is two things. One, we aren’t on Earth. And Two, nothing here works like our natural order.” Andrew said,
“So then what is this? A simulation? Workings of another advanced alien race in our universe? What could all this be?” Erica asked.
“I don’t know, but we need to find the answer to that question and another question. Why are we here.” Andrew said,
“Well, if you’re looking for answers in place that seems unusual. Then look for the place that stands out the most to get the answers.” Sylas said,
“We did do that, but we haven’t found anything yet. We need to continue looking.” Freya said. Sylas shook his head,
“I wasn’t talking about that… I was talking about that.” Sylas said as he pointed in a direction. The other’s looked and saw a floating mansion with nothing holding it up but a staircase from the front door to the ground. Something that definitely didn’t belong in the city they were in.
Andrew stared at the building for a moment. The longer he stared at it, the more he felt… drawn to it. He couldn’t help but feel that was the place they were looking for. Andrew took a step and started walking towards it.
“Andrew? Where are you going? Shouldn’t we plan this out before going there?” Erica asked, Andrew didn’t answer. He just continued walking towards the mansion. Erica turned around and looked at Freya and Sylas.
“We are going to talk this through before walking blindly to that place. Right?” Erica asked, Freya walked past Erica and headed towards the mansion with Andrew. Erica looked back at Sylas in confusion.
“We aren’t right?” Erica asked Sylas,
“I don’t think we are, I feel that we need to go there.” Sylas said as began to run over to the others. Erica looked at the three walking and was in flabbergast. Yet, she had the same feeling.
“What is that supposed to mean!?… Hey, wait for me!!” Erica said as she ran towards the three.
* * * *
Andrew heard each of the others come to him one by one. And as they got closer to the mansion. They noticed four others at the bottom of the staircase, only one of which looked like a human. Andrew looked back at the others, none of his group seem to have any of their weapons from before. He stopped and turned around.
“Stay behind me, we don’t know if they’re friendly and I’m the only one with a weapon in our group.” Andrew said as he pulled out his bow. He didn’t completely activate it though, he didn’t want to aggravate them into a fight nor did he yet know if they were friend or foe.
As they got closer to the staircase, they began to hear a conversation of the five ahead. One of the creatures turned its head towards Andrew and the others. Almost immediately the creature started running towards them, and Andrew heard Sylas beginning to scream.
‘So much for not trying to provoke them.’ Andrew thought and he activated the bow and bow expanded to its proper size. Andrew drew back the string and almost like magic, an arrow that seemed to be made of pure energy appeared. Andrew continued to hold it back to let more energy charge up in the tek arrow. The charging creature saw the bow and it started skidding as it tried to stop in its tracks. Andrew and the others watched as the creature stopped and hunkered down ten feet in front of them. The creature looked up at Andrew, its eyes wide with fear.

Chapter 11: suspicions
Part 2/2
-by Wyvernian
“the other creatures said you were killed in some traumatic way. So, what was it.” Aragorn asked. “I was peacefully ruling my horde, when a stalactite fell on me.” Drain said, obviously lying. Aragorn scoffed, “I think the only thing you just said that was true is that a stalactite fell on you, how did it really happen…” “I don’t have to answer to humans. I am I count!” Drain said. “There we go, dropped the act. Now, tell the truth!” Aragorn said. “What’s going on down here.” Slyveevee asked walking down the stairs. “What’s it to you princes purple.” Aragorn said. “I see you don't know how to treat royalty..” Drain said. “It’s fine.” Slyveevee said. “I see you woke up, and your name is Drain..” Emerald said walking down the stairs. “It’s Count Drain. Who are you.” Drain asked rudely. “I am, or was. General Emerald of the rock drakes.” Emerald said, “and I’ve heard of you, ‘Drain the deranged’ A ruthless power hungry Killer.” She said. “My reputation proceeds me.” Drain said slyly, “and your the great General emerald. I’ve heard of you. How was it that you lost your title, Hm?” Drain said. “Long story. Now get out of here before I make you leave.” Emerald said. “Why should I? It’s my home as much as yours, I even have a room.” Drain said. “There’s about 18 of us, and one of you. What are you going to do.” Slyveevee said. “Oh you’ll be surprised what I can do..” He said, then he went invisible. “Where did he go?!” Aragorn said. Others started running down the stairs asking what was going on. But Drain was gone.
“Do you think he is still inside?” Samuel asked the next morning. “Probably not, desmoduses can’t go invisible during the day.” Darkhide said. “This is a big place, he could be hiding.” Neddy said. “Regardless, we should all be looking over our shoulders.” Ariana said. Then they heard another knock at the door. “Seriously, more people…” Aragorn said grumpily.

Chapter Seven: Entourage
-By MrGhostGamer
Dad?” Buddy asked in confusion. “EMBER! YOU MONSTER! YOU STOLE A FATHER AWAY FROM HIS SON! THEN TRIED TOO KILL THE MOTHER???? THEN KIDNAPPED THE SON???” Yang roared. “TAKE HIM AWAY!” Yang yelled at the Gigantapithecus standing at the door talking too Joe. The Gigantapithecus ran forward and seized Ember. Ember struggled against the Gigantapithecus but could not break free. As the Gigantapithecus was passing Buddy, Ember kicked him in the back. Buddy stumbled over and fell too the ground. Feeling the all too familiar pain in the back. A loud sound interrupted his vision. Buddy stood back up. The ground started too rumble, the lights flickered. The windows shattered. The room suddenly went quiet. Buddy looked around. The ground shook one last time, and then the roof was ripped off. Ember shot a glance at the sky. He screamed in horror as the roof flew into a large swirling black mass in the sky. Joe was yanked off the ground and he flew screaming into the black void. “NOT AGAIN!!!!” Steve screamed. “SHES COME FOR ME!!!” Steve cried out as he was lifted into the void. Yang screamed as he flew up into the void. Buddy felt the ground fall out beneath him. Then it all went black as he was swallowed by the void.
***
Buddy opened his eyes. He was laying in Dr. Yang’s facility. Buddy groaned then stood up. He saw the others standing up too. Ember stood up and looked around. “Where in the world am I?” He screeched. Yang stood up and walked too the window. It was boarded shut. Buddy trotted over too the door. He nudged it with his snout. It didn’t budge. “It seems too be locked.” Buddy coughed. A loud yelling interrupted his coughing fit. Buddy turned too see Joe running towards the door. Buddy yelped as he hopped out of the way. Joe jumped at the door. The door crumpled at his weight. Yang winced. “You could just turn the handle.” Yang muttered. Steve hopped up on Yang’s shoulder. “Now now… WHERE IS THE FUN IN THAT?” Steve shouted. Yang flinched. Steve hopped off his shoulder and headed towards the door. Yang followed. Outside was the biggest city Buddy had ever seen. Old and new styled buildings sat right next too each other. People wearing weird clothing were walking right next too people with really new clothing. Animals walked up and down the block, some were even communicating too the humans. Yang looked around. “Wow This is AWS—“ Yang began. “BAH, Humbug!” Steve interrupted. “Oi! That’s my line!” An old man that was passing said. Steve looked at the man. “Not anymore Ebenezer, not anymore.” Steve smiled. The man huffed then walked away. Towering above all the other buildings was a mansion. The mansion was floating with noting too hold it up except for a large stairway. The mansion didn’t seem too be able too fall. On the front door was a symbol that looked like an upside down U but had lines attached too the bottom.

Chapter 4: Roses are red, violets are blue, they’re from a different timeline and so are you - By SunnyFox57
The stairs to the floating mansion went up super high. “Wow look at all those stairs!” Jay exclaimed. Jack smirked. “I’ll race you up them! I bet I can beat you slowpoke. ” He said. Jay scowled. “Yeah right, I could beat you in a hurricane.” Jay boasted.
“Could not!”
“Could too!”
“Could not!”
“Could too!”
“Could not!”
“Could too!”
“Hush.” Arianna said. The twins fell silent at the look of warning on their mother’s face. Arianna and Aragorn lead the way, walking hand and hand. “Look. There’s two people sitting on the stairs.” Jay whispered to Jack. “I wonder who they are. Hobos?” Jack asked. Jay rolled his eyes. “Probably not. Their aren’t any hobos nowadays.”
The two mysterious people were teenagers, one a girl and the other a boy. The girl had jet black hair with ruby red stripes running down it up in a ponytail, bright friendly hazel eyes and wore glasses. The boy had black hair, blue eyes and also wore glasses, freckles littered his face. He had a slightly pale look on his face, probably was afraid of heights or something that’s probably why they weren’t going up the stairs. They got to their feet when they saw the Petersons.
“OMG, Neddy, look at her hair! It’s red like mine!” The girl whispered excitedly to her friend. She waved at them and called to Emma, “Girl, your hair is SO pretty!” Emma looked very surprised but she still smiled friendily at the girl. Arianna and Aragorn looked at the teenagers. “Wow look Emma! Someone who actually likes your red hair!” Jack whispered sarcastically. Emma glared at him and Jay’s smirking faces. Aragorn tightened his grip slightly on Arianna’s hand and balled the other into a tight fist.
One of the teenagers, the boy, gulped and whispered something to the girl. She rolled her eyes and lowered her hand slowly. “Hi!” The girl called. “I’m Ruby! And this is my friend Neddy! Who are y’all?” Aragorn flexed his jaw. “We are the Petersons.” He said stiffly. Arianna nudged him.
“Hi Ruby. I’m Arianna Peterson. Sorry if my husband seems a little stiff. He’s really sweet actually….deep down….very very deep down.” Arianna said. Aragorn snorted and watched Ruby’s friend with narrowed eyes. Neddy fidgeted nervously. “This is Aragorn my husband(Arianna motioned to Aragorn) and these are three of my children. Emma, Jack and Jay.” Arianna said sweetly.
Ruby smiled. “Nice to meet you guys. So what are y’all doing?” She asked. “We’re here to see what all this rubbish is about.” Aragorn replied coldly. Neddy chuckled nervously. Arianna gave her husband a sharp look. “We’re here to see what this floating mansion is.” Arianna said. “Aren’t y’all? It’s a littttle creepy that y’all are just sitting here on the bottom of the steps.” Jay said.
Emma shot him a “Don’t be rude” look. “We brought some friends with us. Me and Ruby just stayed her because I’m…a tad bit afraid of heights.” Neddy said. Ruby laughed. “A “tad bit” is a understatement. You’re okay though.” Ruby said, grinning slyly at him. Jack and Jay both faked gagging.
“Well don’t mind us, we’re just going to slip by and head up there. In fact….y’all can come with us! The more the merrier!” Arianna exclaimed. Aragorn gave a audible groan. Arianna glared at him. “Ja-Aragorn!” Aragorn gritted his teeth. “Fine.” He growled.
“Race you to the top!” Jay and Jack said at the same time. “No running boys.” Arianna told them. Jack and Jay groaned with disappointment. They all began to walk up the stairs. “I really love what you’ve done with your hair. Is it dyed or is it just naturally like that?” Emma complimented Ruby as they walked up the stairs. They continued talking as they walked.
Jack and Jay rolled their eyes. “Girls.” They snorted. Finally they came to the large oak doors that led into the mansion. Aragorn opened the door.
They all looked inside to see……something wonderful. Something magnificent. Something extraordinary…..

Chapter 36: The Shadowkeep
By Wyvernian
Jethezzar flew back to the other villainous creatures, the rune back in talon. “Have you already exterminated the vermin or did you fail…” Drain said. “Don’t speak to me like that Drain! I had it handled until some weird creature got the drop on me…” Jethezzar said. “It doesn’t matter now, what do we do next.” Ember said. “Those weaklings have fortified the city, but it won’t matter.” Stig said. “I’ve underestimated so called ‘“weaklings”’ before, it cost me my life. If Father was here he would know what to do.” Apex said. “Who is this father you keep speaking of?! I was led to believe that you were the mastermind trying to take over Pandora.” Drain said. “Father created me to destroy humans, he told me that if I helped him, I would have a home.” Apex said. “Sounds like he was only using you.” Felswand said. “HOW DARE YOU SPEAK OF SALIZAR THAT WAY, you have no idea of his power!” Apex boomed, smoke protruding from his nostrils. Felswand backed down. “Did you say Salizar?” Drain said. “You know father?” Apex asked. “I’ve met him, he’s actually the one who convinced the old Count to drink of the broodmother’s blood.” Drain said. “Enough! I don’t care about your pathetic backstories!” King Titan said. “Oh shut up king tiny.” Sig said. The Titan’s face grew red, his arm pulsing magenta energy. “Stop! All of you! If we can’t unite we can’t possibly stop them!” Jethezzar said. the others stopped arguing. Ember turned to Jethezzar “Then what is your plan, leader man..”
‘I’ve been transported to a wonderous world, it seems to not even be an ARK! It could be an entire world! I can sense the element in the air! It’s out there, somewhere, I must find it, but alas, I don’t have my research. I can’t regain my old form. But, perhaps this is a good thing, even in my old form I was no true god, I had control of that ARK yes, but my reach could not extend it. Now I can perfect the serum, then and only then shall I truly ascend! But first I must find equipment, that odd Bubba fellow seems to be a scientist, perhaps I could use him. I did hear him talking about serums.’ Rockwell put down his pen, he was transported to the Omega Timeline with a satchel full of pens and paper. He sat up from where he was sitting by the obelisk podium. Then a smoke bomb hit the ground, and you know the rest. “Where.. is… Star!” Samuel said. “Who.. is.. Star!” Captain Shortstacks mocked. “I was in the forest, YOUR FOREST with her, then I turned around and she was gone!” Samuel said, “I KNOW YOU TOOK HER where is she!” ‘This child is mad.” Rockwell thought. “We don’t know where your.. whoever is!” Pat said. Samuel saw they were telling the truth. “Fine, then what happened to her.” He said lowering the swords. Milo started laughing, “WHAT what is it!” Samuel shouted. “You fool, the same thing happened to the idiots we were fighting, she’s with them, and if you weren’t teleported too that means…” Milo said. “MEANS WHAT!” Samuel shouted. “Welcome to the villains side Samuel.” Milo said chuckling. Samuel dropped the swords. He didn’t want to be on either side but it still stunned him at the thought. ‘Did my allies and those others not teleport me on purpose.. I knew I couldn’t trust them.’ He thought. “Shortstacks and Pat grabbed their swords, “now, drop the knife and surrender.” Pat said. Samuel spat out the knife that was in his mouth, it nearly hit Lil Jack. “Hey that was close!” Lil Jack shouted. Samuel glared at him and he quivered away whining. “Ok down on the ground boy.” Bubba said. Willow walked up to the obelisk podium, she started messing with the terminal. “What are you attempting..” Rockwell asked her. “This place sucks, those good guys have a whole mansion I hear, why don’t we have a base?” Willow said. ‘Would a base include a lab…’ Rockwell thought. “Perhaps your right, I grow sick of these woods.” Rockwell said. “ACTIVATE CASTLE PROTOCOLS?” the black obelisk said. “Yes, activate.. castle protocol.” Willow said. “Preparing castle protocols.” The voice said. “So, what happens now?” Rockwell asked. Just then the ground rumbled, the forest around them for about a mile in all directions just turned to black dust, then huge black walls erupted from the ground, they rose up until they were taller than Apex, a huge drawbridge made of the dark grey wood of the forest glitched into existence, then, though they could not see it, a moat of molten element appeared outside the castle walls, then, the rest of the castle slowly grew, like a marvel symbiote it rose out of the black sand and solidified into walls, it climbed and climbed, up and up, until the tallest spire was even taller than the mansion floated, then, huge flags and banners adorned the new castle, all with red cloth and a black Omega symbol, windows, furniture, and all the other things you’d find in a castle, the place they were in started to turn into a massive throne room, with thrones for all the villains, but then the obelisk podium sunk into the ground. The others who weren’t with Rockwell and Willow jumped down onto the platform as it sunk, it sunk into a huge cavern, it was moist and smelled stale, it had blood red crystals and black stone. The platform stopped descending when it was about 30 feet above the ground of the cave, a stone bridge manifested, leading from the podium to a staircase that lead back into the throne room. “Welcome to your new home, the Shadowkeep.” The obelisk voice said. “Magnificent. Absolutely magnificent.” Rockwell said. “I gotta say this ain’t a bad place.” Samuel said. “Cmon, let’s go explore,” Dr Bubba said, he turned to Milo and Pat, “maybe we’ll find a lab…” he whispered.
The creatures were coming up with a crazy “go in guns blazin” plan. Jethezzar, Drain, Ember and others were disagreeing with this plan when the ground around them shook, they turned around to see the castle walls ascending. “What did those humans do!” Ember shouted. “Cmon, we gotta go check it out!” Felswand said. The creatures flew or ran back to the obelisk, which was now the Shadowkeep, they walked up to the drawbridge, which was shut. “We could fly over the wall.” Drain suggested. They looked obvs them to see a crow flying above the castle wall, it instantly disintegrated into black sand when it got too close. “Or not...” Felswand said. But just then the drawbridge lowered. “So.. who’s going first…” Fjordurs Dragon said. “Not me.” Ember said. “Cowards… I’ll go.” Apex said. He marched towards the gate and walked in, nothing happened, the others followed. They walked through the raised portcullis and through the massive double door, and into the throne room, it was a massive room, with enough thrones for all of them, and plenty of space for more, just then the humans walked out of another large door, Milo had to transform into a gigantopithicus just to open it. “Why hello there, what brings you to the Shadowkeep?” Pat said smugly. “What is this place…” Apex asked. “She somehow got the obelisk to create it.” Milo said. Drain loved this place, it was the castle he always dreamed of. “It’s beautiful…” He said one tear crawling down his cheek. “We should go sit in the thrones!” Ember said excitedly. They all ran to the magnificent thrones, Apex’s was in the back, and massive, Captain Shortstacks’ throne was like a stool, it allowed him to be as tall as the other humans next to him. “You know. I think I have a plan now..” Drain said dastardly. They all cackled evilly, the black obelisk below hummed with delight, the scales had tipped in its favor. The view extends out into a panoramic view of the whole dark forest, the trees were less dead now, with dark purple and red leaves, and the glitching had nearly stopped.

Chapter thirty-one: Villains
-MrGhostGamer
Drain was flung across the room, he slammed into a wall and groaned. Ember shuffled over to him. Drain looked at him. “Ouch.” Drain groaned. “C’MON DRAIN! NO PAIN! NO GAIN!!” Ember screamed. Drain immediately hopped up with a crunch. A loud snarl came from the podium. The light vanished to reveal four humans, Two large dragons, one of which was larger than the other, and a smaller king titan. Ember looked at the villains. “Um… Excuse me. We asked for a ‘Sir Edmund Rockwell?” Ember asked. One of the humans stepped forward. The man looked as if he was in his mid-sixty’s, he had brown-balding hair, brown sideburns, a blue, fur lined coat, round glasses, brown pants, leather boots, and his left arm ended on a stump. The man looked at Ember coldly. “I, am Edmund Rockwell.” The man said in a British accent. Ember burst out laughing. The King titan stepped forward. “I have a small question.” He said. Drain looked at him. “Smaller than you?” He asked. “Burn.” Someone said. They all burst out laughing. If the king titan were a human, his face would have gone red with anger. Instead he narrowed his eyes. “Despite my change in size, I can still eat you all in one gulp.” King titan said angrily “No. I could do that, you would be the dessert.” The apex dragon said as he stepped off the Podium. The Fjordur dragon walked up to Jethezzar. “Small.” The Fjordur dragon sneered. “I’m laying down.” Jethezzar said. He then stood up. He was about the size of the Fjordur dragon. Ember looked around the room. He saw Hugo scooting towards him. Hugo stood to full height next to Ember. “I feel smaller than usual.” Hugo said.
Your up Slyveevee.
The Omega Timeline Chapter Eighteen: Pairing Up and Splitting Up
By PrimalApex
Andrew head throbbed, someone kept continuing hitting him over the head. But in all the chaos he wasn’t sure who was doing it. He felt really bad for fighting with the others. But it seemed no one else felt the same as everyone moved on to deciding to split up.
“I think we should split up and cover the areas we came from first then work our way through this entire place.” Emerald said, everyone seemed to agree to this.
Andrew began to ignore the conversation however and looked over at Samuel and Aragorn. He felt it was quite odd while everyone else was being distrustful, Samuel and Aragorn were both getting along well. Any time he had seen them during his time here, they had been together. And they seemed to cause trouble being together as they seemed to be one of the main and leading causes for this conflict. This slightly concerned Andrew, he felt that they could easily cause more distrust and tension for everyone if they were together.
If they planned trying to choose each other as partners, he might have to intervene. He couldn’t have them stewing on sylveevee’s secret and cause more tension. Or try to go after someone else that didn’t deserve it because they were hiding a secret and cause more distrust.
But who would he choose, well Aragorn and his wife have young kids and while he survived around Sanctuary several times as a kid their age. It wasn’t a place for any kid to go, with or without armor. He then turned his attention over at Samuel’s group. All of them seemed to be teenagers or young adults like most of Andrew’s. They would be better choices, and so he would try to get them to be his group’s partners.
“Well, if it’s alright with you humans. I would like to choose Dr. Yang’s group to pair up with. It would be better to have animals travel through Pandora with us if no one has any objections to that.” Emerald said, Yangs group quickly discussed it quietly for a moment before Buddy came out and looked at Emerald.
“We don’t have any problems with that.” Buddy said,
“YES!!! Let me ride the FLYING SQUIRREL!!!!” Steve said excitedly pointing to Nova, Yang immediately began trying to put Steve back in the pouch, but it became a struggle when he tried to put Steve in the pouch.
While that took place. Samuel stepped up.
“If it’s all the same, I like to go with Ara-” “Samuel, if it’s okay with you. I need you and your friends to pair up with me. Sanctuary isn’t the place for Aragorn’s or Queen Sylveevee’s family to come. And while the Queen’s family can shapeshift, I still think it’s no place for a kid.” Andrew said interrupting Samuel. Samuel and his bird raised their eyebrows at Andrew in suspicion.
“My allies, they aren’t my friends.” Samuel said and he stood their pondering for a moment before turning back to Andrew.
“Alright. We can do that.” Samuel said hesitant, Andrew smiled and looked at the bird. The bird began squawking at him and raised its arms in the air as though a human would. This had Andrew interested in this bird. It didn’t seem to talk, yet it acted more human like than animal. More than any of the animals here.
“Wait, but that only leaves.” Queen Sylveevee said and she turned to Aragorn who looked quite as agitated as she did.
“I don’t like this. I don’t like this one bit.” Aragorn said in distaste,
“For once, I agree.” Queen Sylveevee said.
“You know, this might not be a bad thing.” Andrew said,
“Really? How could this be a good thing?” Aurora asked.
“Well, these two seem to have trust issues more than any of the others. Maybe if they are partnered up, they could learn to get along better.” Andrew answered. Aragorn snorted,
“What? With Princess Purple, never in a million years.” Aragorn answered with disgust.
“So, you aren’t even willing to try?” Sylveevee asked smiling,
“Oh, I’ll give it a try, try to-” “Good, then it’s settled. You and your family will team up with us.” Sylveevee said cutting off Aragorn. Aragorn’s face went red. He definitely didn’t seem happy with his family’s arrangements.
“So is that everything? Any questions needed?” Emerald asked, no one said anything. Aragorn muttered under his breath about Princess Purple.
“Then it is settled, These are the groups we’ve chosen. Our group will start on Pandora, Andrew’s at Sanctuary and Sylveevee’s and Aragorn’s in the city.” Emerald declared. As the groups began to leave the room and gather their things. Andrew stood there relieved. He felt that he may have averted something. But he had a feeling that this might come back and bite him later.
* * * *
Samuel looked at his new partner Andrew, even his clothes seemed to be futuristic. He felt something was off about him. Star seemed to think the same thing with how she acted around him and how she kept staring at him funny. Samuel definitely didn’t feel he could trust him. But he would work with him. At least for a while.

Chapter 17: rising tensions
Part 3/3 (perspective of Queen Sylveevee)
‘Where did they go.. I should’ve just told them! Now they’ll never trust me…’ Sylveevee thought to herself. Moonhigh could see she was stressed. “What’s wrong?” She asked. “Nothing, I’m fine..” Sylveevee said.
“We need to talk.” Aragorn said, storming in the room with Samuel. “What’s wrong?” Neddy asked. “Queen Sylveevee, that’s what’s wrong. She’s hiding something, she can shapeshift. how do we even know she’s human?!” Samuel said. “Of course she’s human, she’s far to weak to be a creature.” Darkhide said. Drake gave him a threatening look. “I saw her shapeshift into a meganeura in front of my eyes!” Aragorn said accusingly. “Now now, let’s all just calm down and let Sylveevee explain.” Andrew said.
“It’s true.. I can shapeshift, I didn’t tell you because I was worried.” Sylveevee said. “Worried about what.” Emerald asked. “Worried you wouldn’t trust me if you knew, that’s why I told Drake and Syocean to not say anything about they’re abiliti-” “WHAT! they have powers too!” Erica said. “What else could they be hiding…” Aragorn said. “Who cares! It’s not like you don’t have crazy powers you didn’t tell anyone about either mister shadow.” Nova said. “Silence beast!” Freya said angrily.
They couldn’t see but the black obelisk was glowing brighter in the distance.
“Oh I’ll show you silence!” Nova yelled, she blasted a beam of light at Freya, who leapt out of the way, Buddy lunged at Nova, Aragorn grabbed Sylveevee with her own shadow and Drake shapeshifted into a reaper and lunged at him, Syocean shifted into Samuel and attacked him, Aurora tried to help Samuel but couldn’t tell who was the real Samuel. Moonhigh, Sunhigh, Neddy, and Ruby ran for cover in different directions. But eventually even they ran into the fray. “TRAITOR!” Emerald yelled at Darkhide. “I HAVENT EVEN DONE ANYTHING!” He yelled back.
Far away, Drain and Ember were heading towards the black obelisk, it was glowing tenfold of its usual glow. “You see! It beckons!” Drain said. “I think your right..” Ember said.
everyone who could fight was fighting, Sylas even turned on Erica, Jack verses Jay, Steve attacked Yang, it was a disaster. “ENOUGH!” Sheeri yelled, she blasted ice all over the room, stopping the fight. “Why are we turning on eachother! We should be working together! Has anyone noticed that Ember is gone?! Or were you too busy fighting eachother! “Wait what?” Yang asked. “BLAST! That dirty little Otter…” Steve said. “She’s right, why are we turning on eachother.. we’re even fighting amongst our own friends.” Andrew said. “What even happened, why would I attack Darkhide, well other than obvious reasons, but why now..” Emerald asked.
“We should split up.” Aragorn said. “What? Why?” Ariana asked. “If we can’t trust eachother we’re doomed.” Aragorn said. “Seriously?!” Sheeri said angrily. “I agree, I won’t be allies with one who would attack my Queen!” Drake said transforming back into a human. Everyone but Sheeri seemed to agree. “Ughh!” Sheeri growled and went upstairs. Jack and Jay were still on the ground fighting. “This is what you get for stealing my hat!” Jack yelled. “YOUR hat! It was mine! And that was like four years ago!!” Jay yelled back.
“Boys!” Ariana called. They stopped and got up glaring at each other.

Chapter 17: tensions rising
Part 1/3 (Perspective of Ember and Drain)
The others were all doing their own things, catching up on sleep, planning on how to escape, trying to clear the tension, not Ember. Ember was just waiting for the perfect chance to betray them all, he saw the looks the others gave him, Yang and Buddy had told them all he had done. he didn’t care. He’d find his own way back home and leave all of them here. He went outside alone, he needed some time to himself to think. He was deep in plot when he heard a groaning sound coming from the pool-house, he walked towards it cautiously, he opened the door to see Drain, he was bleeding from the wing and several other places. “What are you going to do, terror bird. Slay me… perhaps tell your delicious friends where I am so they can finish me off!” He said angrily. “No.” Ember said. “Then what!” Drain said. “Neither of us like those fools. What if we teamed up, we could escape this place.” Ember said. “Leave?! Why… why would we leave when we could rule this glorious place, I didn’t come here the same as you, I was dead. Gone! This is no place you can leave, it is something much too powerful…” Drain said. “Perhaps your right. But how could the two of us kill all of them and conquer this place, we’re just two creatures.” Ember said. “There..(he pointed out of the shed) off in the distance, that obelisk, it beckons.. it knows what we must do.” Drain said. Ember thought this bat was a total loon, but he was better than the others. “What do you mean it beckons.” Ember asked. “When you first got here you were drawn to this place correct.” Drain asked. “No. We just thought it looked promising.” Ember said. “WRONG! they were called here, not us! Don’t you feel it! It’s calling us!!” Drain said with a cackle. Ember looked at the black obelisk in the distance, “I- I think I do feel, something..” he said. “Then let’s go! I can’t fly, those idiots tore my wings, but I’ll manage. Quickly before they wonder where you went!” Drain said. “Alright let’s go.” Ember said.

Chapter 39: Observatories
-By Moon
“Everyone, come here! C’mon!”
The villains began walking over to where Dr. Bubba was calling from the black Obelisk. Samuel, who was just coming out from one of the Shadowkeeps halls, stopped where he was and watched them with an unreadable look.
“Almost ready,” Dr. Bubba was saying.
Drain came up to stand in between Dr. Bubba and Pat, his eyes wide with anticipation. He glanced back at the others and asked, “Where’s Jethezzar?”
“Ran off again or something, who cares?” Ember said.
“ABSTRACTION COMPLETE,'' the terminal said loudly. “‘THE RIDDLES OF THE PHOENIXES SERIES’ CHARACTER: MICHAEL, ‘THE ARKS OVER HEAVEN’ CHARACTER: JERRY, ‘FJORDUR’ SERIES CHARACTER: ZEER, AND ‘PANDORA CHRONICLES’ CHARACTER, PRINCE CALDREN, ABSTRACTED.”
Just then two humans appeared on the edge of the terminal, followed by a Wyvern and what appeared to be a hybrid of a Dinopithecus and Gigantopithecus. They all blinked and looked around.
“Interesting,” Rockwell said from his place by the others, watching eagerly.
One of the humans, young with brown hair and a black suit, stared in shock and confusion. The other was a bit older, and he took a step back with his eyes flicking across each of the villains. “What the hell?”
“Woah!” Prince Caldren exclaimed, looking down at himself. “I’m not– I’m not dead!”
The Wyvern, Zeer, was standing in place. She lifted a talon to her mottled blue throat and looked at it, before setting it down and glaring at all of them. Then she spread her wings quicker than rushing water and flew away, over their heads and out of the Shadowkeep. Everyone stared after her in disappointment.
“Where am I?” The younger human called Micheal said. “How did I get here? What’s happening!?”
“We are your allies,” Dr. Bubba said, turning his head back from watching Zeer fly off. “And we’ve brought you here to help us.”
“What?” Micheal cried. “No! I demand you bring me back this instant! Do you not know who I am?”
“Apparently not,” Sig said with a small smile, glancing at Apex.
Micheal blinked wide eyes at Sig, shrinking slightly. Jerry was scrutinizing all the villains and his surroundings, keeping quiet with his hands to his sides. Prince Calren gazed up at the Shadowkeep’s walls and stepped forwards, looking alert but curious.
“I think there’s enough of us now to proceed with the plan,” Willow said plainly.
“Which plan?” Captain Shortstacks asked. “Not that any of them actually sound sensible, mind you, but which idea of a plan in particular do you mean.”
Willow shot him a look. “We’ll figure a better one out. Right now.”
“Plan t-to do what?” Micheal asked. Calren and Jerry listened intently.
“You’re part of our team now,” Ember said, walking over and looking Micheal in the eyes. “Deal with it.”

Jethezzar wasn’t sure what he was thinking. He flew over the tall figures of the city that was all so strange to him, the sky dimming as evening began to end. He looked downwards, scouting the place for any of the creatures or humans that were against his group. Well, the group he was now stuck with. He wasn't sure what he thought about them. Or anything.
What did he think again?
His yellow eyes glowing, he folded his wings inwards and swooped down into the depths of the city.
~
Buddy sat in the shadows of the alley with a slightly pensive and bored expression. His partner, the newbie Tago, was caught in her own thoughts, pacing around in a circle. Her twitching tail brushed against Buddy every so often, and he huffed as it did again.
“Sit down already,” He said to her.
“I don’t like this,” She said slowly, her light brown eyes blazing. “What if everyone’s being attacked and we don’t know it?”
“We’ll hear the alarm when that happens, don’t worry.” Buddy explained. “The Rock Drakes have that handled.”
“OK,” Tago said, exhaling slightly. She sat down with him for a moment, tucking her wings to her sides and wrapping her tail around herself. Buddy rubbed his face tiredly with his claws. “You wish you were home right now?” He decided to ask her.
“Mostly.” Tago admitted. “It’s easier there. Here, it’s crazy and weird looking and we’re preparing for multiple others to meet us in battle.”
“Well, I’d say I feel the same, but I’ve been through lots of stuff and this is not too different, if I’m honest. ” Buddy said quietly.
There was a sudden swoosh from somewhere above them. Tago perked her head and Buddy looked up, but nothing was there except the clouds and skyscrapers and the blue-gray sky. He glanced back at Tago with a confused look before a Wyvern was suddenly there, knocking Buddy over with a snarl.
“Buddy!” Tago yelled, jumping up and spreading her wings. She scrunched up her face in a hiss, baring sharp white teeth as Buddy scrambled back from the attacker, his tail fluffed up.
“That’s one of them!” Buddy exclaimed firmly, his senses brought up to their highest as he dug his claws into the ground.
The other Wyvern growled low in his throat. Tago looked ready to leap at him before her expression cleared suddenly, and she stepped back in shock. “Jether– Jethezzar?”
The orange Wyvern looked at her in surprise, his eyes widening. Then Buddy pounced, taking his chance and latching the enemies scales. The two locked claws and fought as Buddy snapped his teeth towards the Wyverns neck and they rolled over once on the ground.
Jethezzar roared and shoved the Purlovia off of him, and Buddy caught a glimpse of a dark colored stone in the Wyverns right talon. Tago came forwards quickly and spread her wings, pulling herself into the air and grabbing Buddy with her back talons as she pulled him off the ground. Tago looked down as Jethezzar watched them go up, and she flew away with Buddy in her grasp.
They flew deep into the city and came into the top of a giant observatory. Tago landed with a thump in the circular building, panting tiredly as she released Buddy. He looked back to where they had come from, hoping Jethezzar had not followed them. “You knew that one?” He asked Tago.
“Yes.” Tago sounded guarded.
“He must have heard us talking and come to investigate,” Buddy said with gritted teeth. “Let’s hope he didn’t hear too much. That would ruin the whole–”
“He probably didn’t,” Tago said. “We might have to be more careful from now on, though.”
“Yeah.” Buddy said.
“We’ll be fine,” Tago said with a small smile, nudging Buddy’s side. They looked out through the opening to the building, the dying rays of light casting on their fur and scales. Tago sat down quietly next to him. ‘Soon. Everything will be fine soon.’

The Omega Timeline
Chapter 27: Bound by Fate
“Is this my fate? To be like this, treating others like pawns in a nonexistent game of chess?” Samuel thought as he looked off at Ruby talking with Andrew and Erica. Erica suddenly got dizzy and the other two had to sit her down on a chair. Samuel sighed and looked back at Sylas and Freya, who were talking with Aurora and Neddy about something.
“Hey, that’s a very intriguing necklace,” Freya asked as she spotted the gold heart locket that was wrapped around Aurora’s neck. “How’d you get it? Gold’s hard to come by where I’m from. That thing probably is worth a lot…”
Aurora clasped her hand around the chain.
“Someone who means a lot gave it to me,” Aurora muttered back. Sylas glanced over at Freya, and she glanced back with a smirk.
“Is that so…” Freya said as her eyes darted over to Samuel. Neddy wasn’t as eager as the others. He looked down at the floor uncomfortably as the two began to speculate.
Samuel rolled his eyes and picked up some random mechanical thing that he didn’t know about. He handed it over to Sylas, who picked it up and began to put it into the jet.
“No. It has to be my fate. Otherwise I won’t ever have one,” Samuel thought meekly. Star seemed to sense Samuel’s confliction with himself and began to click her beak. Samuel looked down at her, and she placed her wing over her chest, as if she were pointing to her heart. Then she pointed to her ears.
“Listen to my heart?” Samuel thought. He looked away, “Maybe I should…”
Andrew, Erica, and Ruby all suddenly walked back into the garage and continued to work on the jet. Andrew had dry marks on his cheeks, and his eyes seemed a little red, while Erica seemed a bit more comfortable now. Ruby seemed just as fine as she was since she last talked with the two, but she seemed to be thinking about something.
“What did those two tell her?” Samuel thought. As he stared off into the distance, he suddenly shook his head, “I’m getting distracted… distracted.”
A few more thingymabobs, and picking up and giving items that Samuel had no knowledge about, the jet was patched up and seemed ready to go. Sylas pumped his fist in the air and cheered as the last bolt was screwed in.
“YES! We did it!”
Everyone began to cheer, and Andrew slapped the jet a few times.
“I’m glad we’ve fixed this up. So, Sylas, Erica, Ruby, and Neddy are good to go?”
Erica hopped into the cockpit and hit a few buttons. The jet tried its best to whir to life, but then it suddenly stopped. There were murmurs of disappointment around the crowd, but Erica’s eyes were still sparkling.
“It’s okay. Just need a bit of element and we’re good to go.”
“Hm? Oh, I thought this jet was fueled already last time I remember,” Andrew muttered, “Okay. I’ll go find some, it should be somewhere around here.”
“Element? The hell is that?” Samuel thought.
Andrew walked off, and one by one Erica, Sylas, Ruby, and Neddy got into the jet. They all strapped themselves up with seatbelts, and Sylas began to drum his fingers on the side. Samuel’s eyes wandered along the four-seater jet, and then to the back where a trunk lay. Freya looked around, yawned, and began to walk off.
“Welp. Let’s go, you two. Maybe I can train you two… you don’t seem like the fighting type.”
Freya walked off into the complex, and Samuel quickly took the opportunity. He bolted over to the trunk of the jet and opened it up slowly. Click! As it swung open, Samuel hopped inside. Star waddled over and looked at him with confusion.
“Come in,” Samuel muttered, putting his hands out for Star to jump onto. Star jumped onto Samuel’s hands and clambered into the trunk. Aurora walked up to the rim, running her hands along it and shooting a look at Samuel.
“Stay safe, okay?” Aurora said, a look of worry on her face, “I know you’ll come back but-”
“Stop worrying about me,” Samuel interjected, “Just find more about that Andrew guy for me until I get back. That can’t be too hard, right?”
“Right…”
Star shot a look of pity at Aurora, before clicking her beak and hiding away in a crate of random materials. Samuel closed the trunk, and Aurora sadly shuffled away.
“I really thought we could’ve been something more here,” Aurora thought as she grasped her heart locket, “But things will always be the same…”
Andrew walked back into the garage with a wagon of hard, solid element. It pulsated under the buzzing light above. Aurora’s eyes widened at the sight, and she took a moment to gaze at it as Andrew began to pour it into the fuel gauge of the jet.
“Is that ‘element’?” Aurora asked herself, “It looks so alive.”
“I wonder what would happen if I touched it.”
Andrew had a pair of metal gloves on, and even as he placed the element inside he seemed tense and dropped the element off as quickly as possible. What was so dangerous about the element?
“Maybe I shouldn’t mess with it,” Aurora decided. But the element still seemed to beckon.
With just a few plates of solid element left, the jet whirred to life, and Erica pulled on a lever and the jet began to whir and take off. As it did, Andrew let out a sigh and whispered something to himself.
“I sure hope they have this handled,” Andrew said under his breath. As he turned around, he spotted Aurora at the doorway looking at the element. Andrew took a quick glance at the element and shook his head.
“Oh no you don’t want to touch this stuff. Highly toxic, if you will,” Andrew said, hauling the wagon away. He suddenly stopped, and looked back at Aurora, “You seem tense. Something the matter?”
Aurora seemed hesitant about revealing her feelings.
“He’s not the same as Samuel,” Aurora realized, “He’s less… cold.”
“I really thought we could be something,” Aurora finally revealed to Andrew, “Me and… you know.”
Andrew’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Is that so? Why?”
“He treats this place like that island,” Aurora shouted, “I don’t get it, I DON’T GET IT!”
Aurora felt a lump grow in her throat.
“I just want to know what he’s really like. Maybe then I won’t be crazy for, for, feeling this way toward him!”
Andrew looked off to the side, unsure of how to respond.
“I didn’t know you were a player, Samuel,” Andrew thought to himself. Andrew turned back to see Aurora rubbing her eyes and heaving silently, and he lowered his gaze.
“Maybe these are his true colors. And if that’s the case, what can you do about it, am I right?” Andrew said, a soft smile growing on his face, “There’s got to be other people to appreciate, right?”
Aurora looked off to the side and smiled, brushing her brunette hair to the side, “You’re right. There are. Thanks, Andrew.”
As Aurora walked off into the building, the smile washed off Andrew’s face, and he clutched onto the wagon’s handle tighter.
“You really are a sick man, Samuel.”
~
“ABSTRACTION COMPLETE!”
“QUEEN OF ABERRATION CHARACTERS: PAT AND DOCTOR BUBBA, ABSTRACTED!”
Two white humanoid silhouettes appeared on the podium, and then their bodies were brought into the world. One was wearing a blood stained lab coat and had frizzy blonde hair and light blue eyes. He was chewing on bubble gum while the other was wearing a regular batch of hide armor. His chest piece was dyed green, and he had orange hair and cunning green eyes. The one with the lab coat gasped, and placed his hand over his stomach, but realized there was no wound.
“What happened? That damn guard stabbed me, and then-”
Milo suddenly walked up to the scientist with a sinister grin.
“Doctor Bubba, it’s good to see you back in the flesh.”
“Milo? You’re here too? Where are we?”
“Hm? Milo? Who is this?” the man with orange hair asked as he glanced at Doctor Bubba cautiously.
“Milo? You know this person?” Doctor Bubba asked.
“Yes. Pat, this is Doctor Bubba, Doctor Bubba, this is Pat. And we all have something in common.”
“We all are enemies of that wretched Sylveevee.”
“Hmm, if that’s the case, then consider us new found friends,” Pat said with a slick smile, “I hate that wretch as much as I hate hell itself.”
“So do I, she foiled my plans, and then had her little bodyguard kill me,” Doctor Bubba replied earnestly. Jethezzar yawned, and looked at the two unamusingly.
Jethezzar had only kept the human alive because of his shapeshifting abilities. The human intrigued Jethezzar, he had never thought humans could possess such powers. He had heard many tales of them… perhaps they were true. If he kept it alive, maybe he could bring more like it to take over the city on the horizon.
According to the desmodus and the terror bird, there was a beautiful metropolis a few whiles away with little to no threatening creatures. It would be easy pickings. Still, Jethezzar wanted to be cautious. Another wyvern had come to attack them, and Jethezzar didn’t know if it would be the last. They needed an army, or else some time the mysterious forces would get them. Were they working together? He did not know, but he did not want to take any chances.
“Perhaps they have come here just like these ones,” Jethezzar thought as he glanced at the small creatures at his disposal, “But then who brought them in?”
He didn’t want to think about it. Nor did he want to think about the rune that was sitting in his hands. Jethezzar looked at it. It was no longer glowing green, and didn’t seem to do anything upon interacting with it.
The rune was dead.
Jethezzar still clutched onto it with its talons. He didn’t know why, but he didn’t want to let go of it, even though it didn’t work. Something about the horrified look that Rock Drake gave him when he finally got a hold of it… it was capable of so much more. He wouldn’t let go of it. Ever.
Suddenly, there was a weird noise in the air that sounded like a roar. All heads perked up to see a trail of smoke in the sky heading toward them. A single dot was approaching them. It was very high up. Jethezzar squinted his eyes at it. It was hard to see, but it was made of metal. Definitely not a creature.
“More of them. Probably humans,” Jethezzar said.
“If they’re humans… then all of you creatures should hide,” Doctor Bubba suggested, “We can land an ambush on them that way..”
“I agree. We could hide ourselves in the rocks down below,” Ember said, “Let’s go.”
Ember quickly began to run down a pathway to the bottom of the hill, and Drain followed. Jethezzar grumbled, and turned around. The three humans grinned and jeered amongst each other.
“Humans,” Jethezzar muttered. He turned around and began to walk down the pathway.
As Jethezzar walked away, Doctor Bubba immediately ran up to the terminal and began to tinker with the hologram that floated above it. Pat and Milo glanced at him curiously.
“What are you doing?”
“Pulling in more humans,” Doctor Bubba replied. He tapped on a weird cog button on the side, and another hologram showed up with a wide range of filters and options. He began to tinker around with it, and a list of human names showed up.
“Ah ha! There we go.”
“We’re bringing more humans in? But how will we know they’ll work with us? They’re ‘villains’!” Pat spat, “We’re not villains… are we?”
“Well this system classifies us as so. I dunno why. Sylveevee is the only villain around these parts,” Milo said, “But we have to take a gamble. Who knows how strong those humans are, right?”
“The wyvern will save us if anything bad happens,” Doctor Bubba said.
“You don’t know that for sure,” Pat pointed out.
“Tsk! I guess you’re right… I guess we have to do it then.”
“Okay, how about this one?” Milo said, pointing at one of the names.
“Hmm, yeah, sure, sounds villainous enough.”
Doctor Bubba pressed the ABSTRACT button, and the silhouette of the figure immediately appeared on the podium.
“LOADING FILE. TWO SECONDS REMAINING. ABSTRACTION COMPLETE! ‘THE ARKS: OVER HEAVEN’ CHARACTER, LIL JACK, ABSTRACTED.”
A half-naked individual with nothing but his underwear on suddenly manifested onto the metal podium, and as the three sinister bad guys looked his way, he screamed and cowered into a small ball.
“What the,” Pat muttered.
“P-please don’t hurt me! I’m begging you! I don’t want to die again I don’t want to die!” he blubbered.
“What a weirdo… are you sure this is filtering villains?” Milo asked Doctor Bubba.
“Yes! I’m sure, we just must have not gotten lucky,” Doctor Bubba replied. He turned back to the hologram and decided to pick another name. This one was a captain.
“LOADING FILE. TEN SECONDS REMAINING.”
The ten seconds passed.
“ABSTRACTION COMPLETE! ‘THE RIDDLES OF THE PHOENIXES’ CHARACTER, CAPTAIN SHORTSTACKS- ERM, CAPTAIN FRANCIS HUGO, ABSTRACTED.”
A short, stubby man manifested onto the podium, carrying a sword that was freshly used. His eyes widened as he took notice of his surroundings, and he quickly looked around. Milo approached him slowly, and the short man quickly raised his sword to his neck.
“Stay back, foe,” the captain glowered. Milo raised his hands in half surrender.
“Relax, relax. We mean no harm…” Milo said. He scoffed to himself.
“I have no idea why we need more humans… I can shapeshift at any time. And me and Pat can just respawn anyway,” Milo thought. But he would just have to deal with it in due time.
“Where am I? What is this place?”
“Funny thing… we don’t know,” Doctor Bubba explained, “But we plan on taking that city over there in the horizon.”
Captain Shortstacks looked off onto the horizon, and his eyes sparkled with delight.
“It’s beautiful.”
“Right? So, think of it like a job interview. What are you good at?”
“Tsk, do you need to know? I have you at swordpoint,” Captain Shortstacks smirked. Milo scowled, and with swift movements, Pat sidestepped behind Captain Shortstacks and placed his sword at the base of his throat.
“Let’s not get so cocky, fella,” Pat sneered, “We can kill you right now, you know.”
Captain Shortstacks’ eyes widened, and he quickly lowered his sword.
“Good. Now, there’s a group of humans coming our way. They are probably trying to stop us from doing what we need to do, so, direct your energy toward them and not us. Got it?”
Captain Shortstacks grumbled.
“Fine, but you’re not the boss of this operation,” he revealed, “I’m Francis Hugo. Captain of the British army. I’m one of their most excellent swordsmen.”
“Hm. Good. Well, let’s get ourselves prepared. They’re preparing to land.”
“And what should we do once they come out?” Captain Shortstacks asked, sheathing his sword and adjusting his coat.
“Pretend that we all know each other. We come from a place with lots and lots of caverns… and plenty of dinosaurs.”
Pat turned to Lil Jack, who was still cowering in a ball.
“Hey, you!”
Lil Jack looked up anxiously.
“You better get up and stand here with the rest of us, or we’re just going to kill you right now.”
“O-okay I’m sorry! I won’t say a word!”
The five of them stood together in unison, looking off at the jet that was approaching the obelisk closer and closer, until eventually it slowed to a halt and landed right next to the podium. The glass raised up, and four humans clambered out of the cockpit. One with glasses and a bowl cut hurled all over the ground.
Two men, two women.
The four stepped onto the podium, and the hologram behind them buzzed.
“Story Intersection,” the voice read, “Four users detected: automatically opening ‘The Arks: Over Heaven’, and ‘Ultimus’.”
Silence filled the air, and then Neddy’s implant began to glow.
“So… who are you guys?” he finally asked. Then, he reached his hand for his spear, “And why do I have a feeling you are all bad guys?”
~
THUMP!
“Now they’ll never know I came as a stowaway,” Samuel said as he looked on at the black obelisk that hung in the air, far far away. Its negative energy crackled and hummed, making Samuel’s heart thump against his chest louder. Samuel could see the jet land near the obelisk. Star hopped down from Samuel’s hands, clicking her beak and walking off towards the pathway toward the obelisk. Samuel reached for his back and unclipped the parachute that he had used to descend to the bottom. Glitches and corruption filled the land.
“Should we wait?” Samuel asked Star as he began to walk toward the obelisk, “For, you know, the others to handle it?”
Star clicked her beak, yes.
“Fine enough by me,” Samuel replied. Star had a dazy look in her eyes. She looked at Samuel worryingly, almost as if she were judging him. Then, she averted her gaze, looking off at the obelisk.
Samuel reached his hand into one of his graduation robe pockets and pulled out a dim implant. It was cold to the touch but still had that hum of life that the other implants had. He had found it in one of the storage boxes in the trunk of the jet. Just in case he needed it to activate the obelisk.
If Samuel’s prediction was correct, then the black obelisk would be capable of getting rid of everyone that was a threat to him. Aragorn, Queen Sylveevee, Drain and Ember, Sheeri and the Rock Drakes, and especially that cunning Andrew. In what way? Samuel wasn’t sure, but he knew that as soon as the other four left the obelisk, he’d have it all to himself and he’d have all the time in the world to tamper and mess around with it.
“They won’t know what’s coming for them, they won’t know at all…” Samuel smiled. In the end, Samuel’s ways would always be bound by fate.
But that was okay. Samuel would fully embrace the fact.
The Omega Timeline
Chapter 21: Abstractive - by Ben
“This place is a wasteland,” Neddy murmured under his breath. He was carrying a spear that Ruby had the courtesy of crafting on their travels to the “Sanctuary”. Erica seemed to be glancing over at Ruby cautiously, staring most keenly at her implant. Samuel noticed this.
“You know it’s rude to stare!” Samuel shouted out in annoyance. Erica glanced at Samuel, muttered something under her breath, and stopped looking at him. Freya and Sylas were near the back, talking about people that Samuel didn’t know. Freya certainly looked very mean but didn’t play the part, while Sylas seemed to be their tech guy. Samuel looked over at Andrew, who was in the front holding his giant futuristic bow thingie.
“Andrew, you have a very crazy crew,” Samuel stated blankly. Star smirked in a smug fashion. Andrew looked back at Samuel and Star, and looked off to the side.
“You have an interesting dodo bird there,” Andrew replied in retaliation, “You know… We shouldn’t be this way.”
“What do you mean?”
“Against each other. I don’t know where you come from, but me and my team come from a terrible place. A wasteland that riddles the Earth. This place is a lot better, I’ll tell you that much. I just wish all of us could cooperate. This is a beautiful land with no threats.”
“If we wanna cooperate more, you shouldn’t hold back. Tell me everything about yourself,” Samuel said. Aurora glanced over at Samuel. Her hands wrapped around the golden heart locket.
“I think you should go first,” Andrew replied, “It only seems fair. You brought it up and…”
Andrew stared at Star some more, and Star raised his eyebrow at him.
“Fine enough by me. I’m Samuel. This is Star, that’s Aurora, that’s Neddy, and that’s Ruby. We were all minding our business… and then ended up on this strange island!” Samuel quickly lied. While the latter was true, the former was not. They were all about to graduate. But would Andrew get to know that? Of course not.
Samuel needed to more know more about Andrew than he knew more about him.
“On an island?”
“Yes.”
“And were there dinosaurs on this island?”
“Yes.”
“Hmm, you may have just ended up on the ARKs,” Andrew said. Andrew’s stare pierced Samuel. Unlike the rest of his friends he wore some odd clothing. Why would he be wearing that if he was trying to survive? And if he ended up on the ARKs, then he must have come from his time.
“Say… What century are you from?”
“21st,” Samuel replied quickly.
“21st?? That’s a while ago,” Andrew thought to himself. He stared at the clothing of Samuel, “It seems accurate too, from what I remember from the history books.”
Samuel’s eyes, while Andrew was analyzing him, were moving about. From Andrew’s wrist, and then to his friends’. One thing Samuel noticed? Andrew did not have an implant. But his friends did.
“Hmm. He does not have an implant. And these implants? They don’t seem to work like ours,” Samuel pondered, “Or at least, not exactly. That must mean he’s from another world. Or at least, another dimension.”
“Therefore, I have no qualms about losing him. The timeline will not be disrupted if he, or any of his allies, alongside all the other creatures and people who went to the mansion, would die.”
Andrew stared over at Samuel.
“What is he thinking?” Andrew asked himself, “He sure is a strange one. I have a massive feeling he’s hiding something from me.”
As they approached Sanctuary city, though, they felt something was off. The air felt heavier, and their feelings toward one another drastically shifted. Anger and hatred boiled in their hearts.
“You’re LYING to me aren’t you?!” Andrew screamed, suddenly grabbing Samuel by the collar. Everyone gasped and turned to face the fight. Star let out a squawk of anger and began to peck at Andrew, but Andrew slapped the bird away. Samuel let out a cry of rage and slammed his elbows into Andrew’s forearms. He began to seethe and back away, and Samuel reached forward and god slapped Andrew.
“Get a hold of yourself!” Samuel roared, “The same thing is happening here like it is back at the mansion.”
“W-What do you mean?” Andrew asked Samuel.
“Just now. I felt a sharpness in my heart. As if something is forcing me to act up. It’s getting harder for me to go against that obligation.”
“And what could be causing it?”
Sylas looked south and pointed at a black obelisk in the distance. It seemed to be glowing brighter and brighter.
“That obelisk over there is acting up. I have a feeling that’s our culprit.”
“How do we make it stop? If we just let that thing run rampant it’s going to get one of us killed eventually,” Aurora said. Erica nodded.
“I agree,” she whispered.
Sylas snickered, and pointed a finger at himself.
“Lucky for you all that I’m here. And Erica too. I think the two of us should go to the obelisk and check it out, maybe tamper with it so it stops doing that weird emotion thing. We’re going to need to get there fast though.”
Neddy turned to Ruby and whispered something to her. She nodded.
“Hey, if it’s fine, can we tag along too?” Ruby asked, “I can craft pretty much anything you ask me to. I could help just in case, you know?”
“And I could sense if Ember and Drain are there. My implant has been glowing every time someone new came to the mansion.”
“That’ll be useful, okay then, all four of us will head there,” Sylas decided.
“I remember there being a four-seater jet in Sanctuary,” Andrew realized, “Let’s go find it.”
The two groups rushed into the abandoned futuristic city in search of the jet. As they entered the city, Samuel looked around in awe. Andrew seemed to notice this, and he smirked.
After delving into the city for a few minutes, they ended up at a building that looked pretty rundown, but it resembled a garage. A runway connected to it, and sure enough, there was a jet. But their hearts dropped when they realized it was pretty beaten up.
“It’s missing a lot of components,” Sylas observed, “We’re going to need to find them or make them ourselves.”
“Then? Let’s do that,” Ruby said.

Sheeri’s wings flapped up and down in the air, the air getting colder and colder as Sheeri traveled further south. She muttered something under her breath, and as she began to get closer to the black obelisk, the world began to turn upside down. Strange glitches were appearing all over the place, landmarks and monuments flickering in and out of the land. It was a wasteland of eternal day and night, nothing seemed right. Sheeri felt her heart beat faster.
“This doesn’t feel right,” She thought, “It’s so cold and hot… What if I die?”
Sheeri shut her eyes tight, ignoring the weird sounds and roars and cries around her that seemed to be coming from nowhere but everywhere at once.
“No, I have to. I’m the only one strong enough.”
Sheeri flapped her wings faster and heavier, until eventually a crackling sound roared in the air. Sheeri opened her eyes. The black obelisk was just a few meters away from her. She came to a halting stop, and peered down at the base. At the podium were two dastardly creatures, a Terror Bird and a Desmodus. The Terror Bird looked really tired.
“Drain and Ember.”
Sheeri slowly began to fly down.
“So, how are we supposed to work this thing?” Drain asked Ember. Ember reached his talons out and grasped the terminal.
“An… old friend of mine back home taught me about these,” Ember replied. The terminal began to hum, and suddenly a hologram manifested in the air for them to see. The Omega symbol flashed on the hologram, and then it flickered to a strange list.
“Story Intersection,” a voice read, “Two users detected: automatically opening ‘Hope’s Cry’, and ‘Pandora Chronicles’.”
A list of words began to appear, all which closely resembled that of books. There were hundreds of unrecognizable names. Then, it zoomed into two of the stories. Two lists appeared, each one with names that only either could recognize.
“‘Hope’s Cry’. Analyzing characters. Characters detected! Dr. Ian, Dawn Pryde, Lieutenant Felswand, Edmund Rockwell…”
“‘Pandora Chronicles’. Analyzing characters. Characters detected! Caesar, Ron, Ping, Nash, Jaxz, Salizar, Cinder, Apex, Skyla…”
A cruel smile grew on Ember’s face.
“Hmm, I bet I could bring Rockwell here! Then no one will be able to stop him. He’s far too strong for any creature to take him down,” Ember thought to himself. He looked over at Drain, “And, I can get him to kill this fraud too. Why should I rule this place with him when I can just do it myself?”
Drain, on the other hand, seemed to be even more pleased.
“That Dragon… I can bring him in and get his blood,” Drain thought maniacally, “AND I can get him to just kill that Ember. I can just rule this place myself, and I’d be the most powerful once I get his blood.”
It seemed that Drain and Ember seemed to be thinking the same thing about each other. They clicked on the file of Rockwell and Apex, and a picture of the element-corrupted man and the Alpha Dragon showed up. But one button attracted both of their attentions.
“Abstract.”
In unison, they both pressed the button on the hologram. The hologram flickered red, and the obelisk began to shake. A pulse of energy was sent out, and anger flickered in both of their hearts.
“ERROR. BOTH FILES TOO LARGE TO ABSTRACT SIMULTANEOUSLY.”
Ember grabbed Drain with his talon.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“What do you think YOU are doing?” Drain snapped back, “Let me abstract this one first!”
“No, let me! This one is capable of anything!” Ember shoved Drain, and with his other talon scratched him across the face.
Drain barred his fangs and leaped forward grabbing Ember by the neck.
“You’re gonna regret that!” Drain snarled.
SHOOM!
Sheeri landed down on the podium, and the voice beeped out again.
“User detected. Home timeline: Pandora Chronicles.”
The air around began to crackle with freedom, and mist flew out of Sheeri’s mouth.
“Enough. I-I’m going to stop you from whatever you’re planning,” Sheeri shouted, “So step away from the podium, or I’ll be forced to kill you.”
Drain let go of Ember’s neck.
“Let’s have a truce,” Drain whispered to him, “If we continue fighting she’ll kill us both. We can discuss this later. I’ll distract her, my wing’s feeling a little better. You go to the podium and abstract someone that isn’t from either of our worlds, so they can deal with the wyvern. If you don’t I’ll rip your head off next time.”
“Fine.”
Drain barred his fangs.
“You look scared, wyvern. You should be,” Drain leaped forward and began to fly at Sheeri’s face. Sheeri let out a gasp and backed off, opening her mouth and shooting out a beam of cold mist. Drain quickly weaved to the side and latched onto Sheeri. Drain sank his fangs into Sheeri, and Sheeri let out a cry of pain as he began to suck her blood.
“OW!” Sheeri howled. Ember rushed to the podium’s hologram and clicked the back button. Rockwell and Apex’s image flickered away, and Ember scrolled the list down to the bottom.
“Come on, give me something good,” Ember muttered to himself as he clicked one of the random stories. Random names Ember couldn’t recognize beeped out from the terminal.
“Can I filter out good from bad?” Ember wondered. He looked at the top of the screen and saw a filter. He pressed it, clicked a few buttons, and the names shifted. At the top of the screen was a long name.
“Please be someone strong,” Ember thought. He pressed the button. An image of a fire wyvern popped up, and Ember smirked.
“Good enough for me.”
Ember pressed the ABSTRACT button, and a bar appeared on the screen.
“LOADING FILE. ONE MINUTE REMAINING.”
WOOSH!
Ember was suddenly pushed away by a gust of wind. His body slammed into a boulder, and he let out a cry of pain as he felt his bones crack. Sheeri had taken up to the skies in an attempt to get Drain off of her. Sheeri moved back and forth, but Drain latched on as hard as he could. Sheeri, with one last attempt, flipped onto her back and let gravity do its job. She began to fall to the ground, and Drain knew that if he stayed on any further he’d be crushed. Drain latched off of Sheeri and quickly flew a few feet away. Sheeri flipped back onto her front again. Noticing the injured Ember seething on the ground nearby. She opened her mouth and cold mist flew onto him. Ice began to collect around his body, and then, he was frozen.
“Damn,” Drain thought. His eyes darted over to the hologram.
30 seconds left. Sheeri spotted the hologram and began to make a bolt for it. Drain barred his fangs. He quickly flew over at Sheeri and latched onto her neck again. Sheeri continued to make a run for it, so Drain had to take measures into his own talons. Literally. He reached his wing back, and swung it as hard as he could at her eye.
SHINK!
Sheeri screamed out in pain and halted mid way. The sudden stop made Drain fly off of her. As Drain was flying midair, Sheeri prepared another ice blast at him. Drain’s eyes widened as icicles began to form on her chin.
SHOOM!
A huge beam of ice particles blasted out of Sheeri’s mouth and toward Drain. Drain clutched his wings as tight as he could, and felt his body flicker away in the light. Drain flew off to the side, and Sheeri’s eyes widened.
The ice blast stopped, and Sheeri looked around.
“What? Did he just turn invisible?!” Sheeri shouted, “But that’s impossible. They said they can only turn invisible during the night!”
The air crackled with glitches. Of course Sheeri couldn’t question it, this region was far more disconnected than the others. Sheeri’s eyes darted around. He seemed to be gone.
“Nothing’s stopping me from stopping the process,” Sheeri thought. She rushed over to the terminal.
15 seconds left.
Sheeri reached the terminal and outstretched her talon to press the CANCEL button. Sheeri wasn’t too sure what they were doing, or what the obelisk was doing, but it couldn’t have been good.
Click!
“ERROR.”
“What?”
“ERROR. ABSTRACTOR NOT FOUND IN TERMINAL VICINITY. CANCELLATION DELAYED.”
“Abstractor…” Sheeri looked over at Ember. His body was laying off the obelisk’s podium. Sheeri’s eyes widened.
“Wait, no-”
5. 4. 3.
Sheeri began to rush over to Ember to drag him over, but it was too late.
2. 1.
BOOM!
“ABSTRACTION COMPLETE.”
The air around them began to corrupt with a massive amount of glitches and code. Lines and lines of dialogue and strange words that told the story filled the air, and the smell of lightning filled the air. Storm clouds brewed all around them, clogging Sheeri’s vision. The smell of smog and fire began to enter Sheeri’s nostrils. Sheeri began to cough. She opened her mouth and prepared to use her breath.
SHOOM!
Cold mist filled the air.
But fire returned.
Flames shot at Sheeri, and she gasped. She quickly ran to the side and stopped using her breath. What was that?
“Who goes there?” a mysterious voice asked, “You don’t know who you’re challenging.”
Sheeri didn’t respond. The smoke began to clear, and a large Wyvern with bronze scales and small spines running down his back was left in the fray, summoned with the obelisk. His golden eyes darted from Ember, and then to Sheeri. The Wyvern stared at Sheeri for a bit. Smells like barbecue. He seemed to be studying her. Sheeri gulped, and began to back off.
“Another Wyvern?!” Sheeri thought, “This isn’t good… I can’t beat a Wyvern!”
The Wyvern seemed to be clutching something in his talons. It was glowing green and seemed to be made of stone, yet, it had a powerful aura to it. Thunder boomed in the distance.
“You,” the Wyvern said, pointing a talon at her, “Did you do this?”
Sheeri shook her head.
“N-No,” Sheeri replied meekly. The Wyvern stared at the object in his talons.
“It must have been the rune then,” he muttered. The terminal beeped.
“ABSTRACTION COMPLETE,” the terminal buzzed, “‘THE OBELISK’ CHARACTER, JETHEZZAR, ABSTRACTED.”
The Wyvern, Jethezzar glanced at the terminal. He scoffed.
“Perhaps not. Oh well.”
Jethezzar turned to Sheeri again.
“What are you waiting for? L e a v e.”
Sheeri stood her ground. Flames began to burst from his mouth, and Sheeri’s eyes widened. She began to back off, before finally taking to the skies and fleeing. Jethezzar smirked, and Drain flickered into sight.
“I was the one who brought you here-”
Jethezzar suddenly lunged at him and grabbed him by the throat. Drain gasped and began to struggle within his talons. Jethezzar opened his mouth.
“And why would you do that? I was just about to kill some puny juveniles. I took the rune away from them and-”
“Please! We needed someone to fight that wyvern… this place is wondrous, you see! There is so much that awaits in these lands, I promise that they’re even better than what you have back home!”
Jethezzar closed his mouth, and he barred his teeth.
“Is that so?”

Arianna and Samuel’s friends fell to the floor. Across one of Drain’s wings a tear tore through it. It was a talon shaped tear, some might even say that it was a desmodus talon shaped tear. Behind him, something shifted but nothing was there. Nothing but Drain’s shadow. Drain screamed in pain, and clutched his wounded wing. He glared defiantly at Samuel and Aragorn. “You haven’t seen the last of me! I’ll be back for my revenge!” He snarled at then flew out the large open window. Neither Aragorn or Samuel tried to stop him.
Aragorn immediately ran for Arianna, untied her and examined her. “Are you okay Arianna? Did he hurt you?” Aragorn asked worriedly. Arianna nodded. “Yes I’m fine,” She shivered. “That bat was so evil. He was going to…suck our blood.” She said, her face white. Aragorn wrapped his arms around his wife and pulled her close. “It’s okay. I’m here now. No one can hurt you.” He said tenderly. Samuel scooped up Star. “Star!! What were you thinking?! You attacked a giant bat!!! You could have been killed!” Samuel exclaimed. Star squawked wearily and buried her beak in Samuel’s chest. “Hey? A little help?” Neddy asked. His allies were still tied up. Samuel cut the rest of the ropes around them.
“I can’t believe that bat was actually gonna suck our blood. That’s just evil. What kind of creature was that anyway? It was like a vampire bat or something. ” Aurora wondered aloud. Neddy stroked his chin thoughtfully. “A desmodus I think. A giant bat that drinks blood. In fact they’re obsessed with drinking blood.” Neddy said, pushing up his glasses with one of his fingers. Aurora frowned. “Let’s go back downstairs. Who knows when that bat will come back.” Samuel said. Aragorn nodded. “I agree. Come on Arianna.” Aragorn said, leading his wife from the room. Samuel and his allies followed.
They all walked downstairs where some of the other people/ animals had gathered. “What was all that ruckus up there about?” Emerald asked. Slyveevee watched Aragorn and Samuel distrustfully. Aragorn and Samuel exchanged significant glances. “Mom? Are you okay?” Emma asked running up to Arianna. “What happened?” Ruby asked, walking up to Neddy and standing by his side. Her hair was messed up from her nap. “WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!” Steve yelled. Yang grimaced and scooped the squirrel up and grimly stuffed him in his satchel. “Hey don’t you da-“ Steve began before going muffled. “We were captured by Drain the-” Aurora began, forgetting what type of dinosaur Drain was.
“The desmodus. He was going to suck our blood.” Neddy said. Erica scowled. “I knew that bat was up to no good.” She said. Aragorn turned to Samuel, crossed his arms and said quietly, “You’re right We need to find a way home. This is just getting weird and I don’t want my family in danger.” Samuel stroked Star’s feathers and nodded. “Don’t worry we’ll all find a way.”

Aragorn gritted his teeth and clenched his fists at the overly large bat, named Drain. The shadows around them darkened. “Nobody messes with my wife!” Aragorn growled and lunged at the bat. Samuel began to hurl objects at Drain. While Drain was dodging(or at least trying to) objects Aragorn tackled the bat and pointed a long glass shard at his throat. “Give up!” Drain sneered and chuckled evilly. “Never!” Drain yelled and brought his talons up. He dug them into Aragorn’s chest and hurled the man across the room.
Aragorn hit the wall with a thud. Star suddenly flew past Samuel and landed on Drain’s wing. She bit down hard. “AGHHH!” The bat screeched with fury. Drain began swatting at the dodo, trying to stop her. Star, dodged his attacks and continued sinking her little teeth into the bat. Samuel decided to, while Drain was distracted, free the captives. He ran over to his tied up allies and Arianna and began to cut their rope with a shard of glass. He was halfway through cutting the rope whenever Drain spotted him. Drain kicked Star off him and flew across the room. “You!” Drain said and flew toward Samuel, talons stretched.
He landed untop of him, knocking the glass shard out of Samuel’s hand. Drain ran his tongue over his long fangs greedily. “Finally. I can eat some blood. I haven’t had human blood in forever. Animal blood is not as satisfying. You should be honored to have your blood taken first by me, the great Count Drain.” Drain said proudly, baring his teeth and raising his fangs to burrow into Samuel’s skin.
Star suddenly sat up wearily and squawked angrily. She flew across the room and bit Drain one last time. Drain screamed with frustration, kicked the dodo away again so hard that she hit the wall and slumped to the floor unconscious, and yanked Samuel’s friends and Arianna up in the air. Aragorn froze as his wife was lifted up in the air. His eyes widened, then narrowed and his medallion glowed black. The shadows around them turned even darker and for a second Samuel thought he saw some of them shift slightly. “Nobody move!” The bat cried. “I’m about to end these puny humans lives and none of y’all can stop me! No one can stop me, Count Drain the grea-” Drain suddenly pause boasting and screamed with pain.

Part 1/2
By now, a lot of them had went off to do their own thing. Arianna was off to take a beauty nap, and all of Samuel’s allies were still in their rooms (probably catching up on sleep). But now was not the time for rest. Not yet. At least, not yet for Samuel.
“Ah, I see,” Samuel thought as he stared at Queen Syl. She seemed distracted and was staring off into space, “Is she hiding something from us?”
Samuel looked on at the new groups. It was still very strange to him that animals and humans could converse with one another, but he was slowly starting to get used to it. A Gigantopithecus was throwing handfuls of berries in his mouth, and a Terror Bird was sitting on the ground, giving everyone irritated looks. A pink Squirrel was looking back and forth, bouncing like a hyperactive kid. The five adult humans, Andrew, Sylas, Erica, Freya, and Dr. Yang were taking in the sights, and one had a futuristic bow strapped to his back. They looked like they came from completely different time periods.
“There’s a variety of different people, most likely from different time periods,” Samuel realized. His eyes darted to the family that carried the medallions, “But do they come from my world?”
The man Aragorn was staring keenly at Queen Syl. Samuel eyed Aragorn’s medallion carefully.
“As more and more people come to the mansion, more and more distrust will build up. I need to ensure me and my group stay as trustworthy as possible…”
Aragorn’s medallion began to glow for a quick second, and then it stopped. Samuel’s eyes widened. Could it be…?
“Just like the implants,” Samuel realized, “Could their medallions work the same way our implants do?”
Samuel stepped over to Aragorn, and lightly tapped him on the arm. Aragorn glanced over at Samuel with a distrustful, cold sneer.
“What?” Aragorn asked with crossed arms.
“I think we should have a talk… About these people,” Samuel replied, staring directly at Queen Syl. Aragorn let out a huff. He was a lot taller than Samuel, so even though they were both adults it was like talking to Samuel’s father. Aragorn looked down upon him, analyzed him, and then crossed his arms.
“Fine. Let’s go someplace private then.”
Queen Syl began to sweat as Aragorn and Samuel left the room, and she began to squirm in her spot.
“What are they doing??” Sylveevee asked. She quickly ran into the shadows, and then a Meganeura emerged. The magenta-colored Meganeura buzzed and quickly followed Aragorn and Samuel.
“You seem to know something about that Queen Sylveevee,” Samuel said.
“Oh Princess Purple?”
There was a buzzing noise from behind them. The two quickly turned around, but there was nothing there. The two went back to walking down the large hallway.
“Maybe, maybe not, why should I tell YOU though?”
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m trying to find my way back home… This place is great and all, but I’d rather be back in Star City. Don’t you want to go back to wherever you’ve come from too?”
Aragorn seemed to pause to ponder. He seemed to be thinking of someone.

-by Wyvernian
Everyone had finished eating and were exploring the mansion, to everyone’s surprise they all found rooms perfectly suited to them, Samuel, Neddy, Aurora, and Ruby’s rooms looked exactly like their old rooms before they woke up on the arks, this was quite a shock and the nostalgia was great. The same could be said for the Petersons rooms and Slyveevee and her group’s rooms, the creatures rooms were different, they all had cave-like rooms, some icy and some with beautiful crystals according to their species and place of origin. Star had a beachy island-like room but she preferred to be with Samuel. They again thought about how deceiving the size of the mansion was from the outside, it was almost as the interior could grow to accommodate more guests. they found Drains room as well, it was similar to Darkhide and Emerald’s but it was darker and more ominous with its red crystals. They set him inside and went to their rooms to rest, it was a very long day and everyone was exhausted.
In the middle of the night Drain snapped out of his coma with a start, he looked around and saw his room, it looked familiar to his old home but smaller, the sight of it horrified him, all he could see in it was his death and he kept looking up at the stalactites suspiciously, he couldn’t take it anymore so he exited the room. his door seemed to be made of a dark colored stone, he jiggled the handle and exited, he came out into a long hallway, the entire hallway was an assortment of mismatched doors, they were all different sizes and shapes and they all looked different, some were more stone doors, some were crude scrappy wood doors, some were average doors, some were very elegant, and some were icy. one was painted magenta and he shuttered at the sight, he though it was quite ugly. He decided it was best to not enter these strange rooms. He walked down the hall, it was very long, there had to have been about 20 doors in all. ‘Where, am I.. how am I alive.’ He thought, ‘where are those idiots who caused my death!’ Then he had a horrible thought, ‘am I dead? No can’t be, this place isn’t good or bad enough for any afterlife, but then where am I..’ he walked through the seemingly endless hallways and corridors of the mansion, he found a staircase leading him down to the main floor, it was a large open concept living room/dining room to the right of the stairs with again about 20 seats, some were more like couches though. “Hello?” He said quietly. He walked over to the dining room and noticed a large door, he opened it finding a kitchen, there was many plates, forks, spoons, knives, bowls, platters, and any other type of dish you can think of filling all three sinks and some of the dishes even had to be put on the counters. It was a mess, obviously whoever ate here didn’t want to clean up tonight. Drain was famished, he found some leftover fish and some meat in the fridge but what he really wanted was blood. he finished his quick meal and walked out of the kitchen. He was snooping around when he heard “hello?” He instinctively turned invisible. “Anyone down here? Thought I heard someone.” The voice said. He stayed invisible, the person talking was a kid, about 13. The child decided there was nobody down here and went to go back up the stairs. “Wait.” Drain said. “Ahh!” The kid screamed. “Sorry, didn’t mean to frighten you young one.” Drain said trying to sound concerned. “Who’s there?” The kid asked. “I am Count Drain, pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Drain said going visible. “Uh hi I’m Jack Peterson.” Jack said. “Tell me child, where are we?” Drain asked kindly, all he wanted was to taste human blood, it had been so long. But he restrained himself, he wanted some information more. “I don’t know really, we all woke up here sometime yesterday- wait are you the bat guy?!” Jack exclaimed. “Uh, bat guy?” Drain asked. “It is you!” Jack said, he could see Drain now that his eyes had adjusted to the dark, “the dragons brought you, well they say they’re drakes and wyverns and managr-whatsits. But dragon is easier to remember.” Jack said, “you were in some weird coma or something.” He continued. “Interesting, what is this place?” Drain asked. “Don't know, but it’s awesome!” Jack said enthusiastically. “Are there other, humans here or just you?” Drain asked. “Ya my family is here too, well, most of them. And some others. There’s even a Queen!” Jack said. “I see. Now are they all asleep Drain asked probing. “What’s it to you…” another voice said From the staircase. “Dad! It’s the bat, he woke up!” Jack said. “I see that, go back to bed Jack.” Aragorn said. Jack obeyed, noticing his father's tone. Aragorn waited for Jack to be gone before talking again, “So. Why are you asking my son if anyone else is awake.” Aragorn said. “Just trying to figure out why I am here.” Drain said obviously lying. “Right.” Aragorn said clearly suspicious.

Chapter ten: Curiouser and curiouser -SunnyFox57
Sheeri, Arianna, and Ruby carefully carried the trays filled with food to the table and began to unload the food onto the very very large table. (Weirdly there were already clean empty plates and silverware lates out on it) Behold! Food, food, food, all kinds of unique foods. Pies and puddings, gravy, raw meat, lasagna, cooked meat, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collard and greens, casseroles, noodles, various types of cookies, fresh bread, fresh fruit of all kinds, jalapeño poppers, soup, a ginamourus cake and much much more. Sheeri and Arianna carefully carried the huge cake out to the table.
There was a lot of food to go around, in fact you might say that there was too much. Everyone took a seat at the table, and they began to dish out food. Samuel watched as Neddy began to fork udon noodles onto his plate, joyfully. “Here you go Star. Eat up.” Samuel said to his dodo, putting a tiny plate of berries and cooked fish in front of her. Star squawked and dove in.
Aragorn simply watched with narrowed eyes as the others made their food. “What about Drain? Should we get him something to eat?” Nova asked Emerald. Emerald shrugged carelessly. “Don’t know, don’t care!” She said, and began to fill her large metal plate with meat, although eyeing it warily. Emma sat down beside Ruby and they began amiably chatting as they ate.
“You’re a really great chef! I heard you made the cake! It looks splendid!” Emma exclaimed. Ruby beamed happily. “Thanks. Your mother helped me with it.” Ruby replied. “I can’t cook much. I’m not very good at it honestly but…I’m better than my dad. He can only make burned grilled cheeses.” Emma said. They burst out giggling. Darkhide scowled at the food on his plate and squinted at it. “If it is poisoned then I doubt you’ll get the poison out by just watching it.” Jay said from beside him. Darkhide jumped slightly, startled by the sudden appearance of the small human.
Jay bit into a apple and watched Darkhide curiously. “I’ve never seen a talking drake before, in fact….I’ve never even seen a drake before!” Jay exclaimed. Darkhide growled under his breath. Jay continued to talk. “So can you understand animals that don’t talk? What do you do with those? How many of you are there? How-” Jay paused when Darkhide fixed him with a stern glare.
“Go away kid. I don’t have time for your questions.” Darkhide growled. Jack yanked Jay away. “Sorry sir about my brother. He’s not the smartest chap and doesn’t realize that you might eat him.” Jack told Darkhide. Jay scowled at his brother. “Me? Me not smart? You can’t even pronounce “monkey”!” Jay exclaimed. Jack scoffed. “I do! It’s pronounced monkay not monkey!” Jay rolled his eyes.
“No it’s monkey!” Jay cried.
“Monkay!”
“Monkey!”
“Monkay!”
“Monkay!”
“Monkey!”
“Boys!” Arianna snapped. Jay and Jack went quiet and went back to eating. Darkhide rolled his eyes. “Kids.” He muttered. Just then a sweet dinging sound echoed through the dining room. It was the doorbell.
“I’ll get it.” Samuel said. He got up and walked for the door. Star wiped her beak neatly on her napkin, fluffed her feathers, and trotted after Samuel. Samuel slowly opened the door to see a band of five strange people. A woman with long magneta hair, magneta eyes and she wore a crystal crown and a magneta dress(Samuel noted that she was slightly obsessed with the color magneta), two kids, a man with bright blue hair and eyes, and another man who stood protectively at the woman’s side.
“Oh great more visitors.” Aragorn muttered darkly from the other room. Star squawked disapprovingly at him. “Hi. I’m Queen Slylveevee. (Aragorn snorted) This is Drake, Skyocean, Moonhigh, and Sunhigh.” Slyveevee said. “In my day in age people didn’t parade around telling people we were royalty.” Aragorn muttered under his breath. Arianna shot him a look.
“We’ve come to see what’s going on. We were just randomly sucked from my castle earlier. Do you know whats going on?” Slylveevee asked. Samuel shrugged. “I’m Samuel and this is Star. The same thing happened to me and my allies…and some other people.” Samuel said.
“We don’t know what’s going on. You’re welcome to come in though. We’re having dinner.” Slylveevee cast a worried look at Drake and Skyocean. who shrugged. Slylveevee sighed and then took Moonhigh and Sunhigh by their hands and led them into the dining room. “More humans?! How many of those critters are there?!” Emerald barked angrily. “We have feeling you know!” Neddy called. Emerald shrugged carelessly. “Did you hear that woman she said she’s a queen!” Jack whispered to Jay. Jay shrugged. “This is just getting weird. Curiouser and curiouser.”

“So, we’ve all agreed,” Neddy said, “Who’s cooking dinner?”
“Mom’s the best cook in the whole world, Neddy,” Jack told him, “I think we should let her cook.”
“Hold on, what if she poisons our food?” Darkhide called out, pointing a talon at her, “I don’t trust this!”
Nova shot a sneer at Darkhide, but Emerald patted Nova on the face.
“He’s got a point. You could still be out for us, for all we know. For all any of us know.”
Aragorn’s eyes boiled with rage and he clenched his fists.
“Are you calling my wife an undignified backstabber?”
“Let’s be reasonable about this,” Samuel said with closed eyes, “Why don’t we just have… one person from each of our groups cook together. That way there’ll be no complications.”
“That’s, actually not bad of an idea,” Aurora answered. She smirked at Samuel, “You’ve always come up with the good plans.”
Samuel groaned to himself and looked away. He muttered something to himself that no one could hear.
“Well I’d love to be the cook for my group,” Ruby volunteered. All the dragons looked at Sheeri, and her eyes darted back and forth between each group.
“D-Do I really have to cook?”
“I heard you’re a good chef, Sheeri,” Nova told her, “It’ll be fine.”
“But with the HUMANS?!”
“No one else can do it, it has to be you,” Emerald said. Sheeri quivered, before finally stomping forward.
“Okay then, fine, let’s do it… h-humans.”
“Cool, let’s go prepare a meal for our friends now,” Ruby replied. Sheeri showed Ruby and Arianna to the kitchen, and as everyone else waited for them, they headed to the dining table and began to introduce themselves.
“I’m Samuel,” Samuel said, putting a hand on his chest. He calmly looked at Neddy and Aurora.
“These are my allies, Neddy Brown and Aurora Romero. Ruby Williamson is the one in the kitchen right now.”
Samuel pointed to his shoulder, where Star was propped.
“And this is my friend Star. She’s a real bright one.”
Aragorn’s eyes widened, “Your names…”
Neddy looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Uhhh, what about them?”
“Did you happen to know someone named, uh, Alan?” Aragorn asked.
“No…?” Neddy answered.
Aragorn shook his head, “Nothing.”
Once the Petersons introduced themselves, and once the dragons finally did, Arianna and Ruby came out of the kitchen carrying trays of plates filled with food and all varieties of dishes. Sheeri came out with a tray on her head.
“Food’s ready!” Arianna announced. Neddy licked his lips, and Darkhide’s stomach grumbled.
“Okay, let’s see what this is all about!” Darkhide rumbled. Samuel sank back in his seat.
“Yeah, let’s see…”
Star frowned, and she rubbed her head against Samuel’s hair.

“I think we all need to calm down!” Arianna said. All heads turned to her. She pushed her long blonde hair to the side and began to speak.
“We were all brought here against our own will, right? So, we cannot be divided. We need to find out why we’ve been brought here,” she boomed. Emerald pointed a talon at her menacingly.
“And how do we know it wasn’t one of you that schemed this? You humans are not to be trusted with your bloodthirsty, savage ways!”
“Savage? You’ve gotta be joking, you’re a freakin’ dragon! All dragons are bloodthirsty!” Neddy laughed.
“Take that back,” Emerald snarled. Neddy gulped and raised his hands in the air in surrender.
“Sorry.”
Samuel in his black graduation robes clambered out from under the kitchen sink, patting the dust off his robe. Star followed, and Sheeri backed off quickly.
“That woman is correct,” Samuel added, looking between both groups back and forth, “Think. Throughout this whole city of ups and downs, not a single one has checked this place out.”
“Except us-” Aurora replied, climbing out from the kitchen sink as well. Ruby gasped, interrupting her.
“Hee hee, look those two were hiding together!” Ruby giggled, pointing a finger at the two. Neddy chuckled in response, and Star rolled her eyes.
“Anyway, before I was so rudely interrupted, we are all the only ones who came to investigate this place. That has to be something, right? Something must have pulled us together. So, how about we start by introducing ourselves?”
“There’s no need if you’ll all be eaten,” Darkhide grinned, licking his lips (if he had lips, that is). Aragorn put his hand out to shield his family, and his medallion began to glow a deep black. The shadows that covered the palace began to grow darker, and Sheeri took notice.
“Don’t even THINK about it,” Aragorn growled.
“D-Darkhide stop it, he looks DANGEROUS,” Sheeri whispered to him. Darkhide growled.
“I want to see what a bunch of unarmed humans can do to us.”
Nova rammed her head into Darkhide’s, causing his head to fly to the right.
“That’s ENOUGH, Darkhide. These humans don’t pose a threat to us, so we shouldn’t pose a threat to them. They ended up here just as we have, probably? So, STOP.”
“Oh and what will you do about it?” Darkhide laughed. Nova’s breath became foggy, and the air in the room began to grow colder.
“I’ll freeze your face off that’s what,” Nova whispered into his ear. Darkhide blinked, and he slowly cowered into the shadows. Nova smirked.
“That’s what I thought.”
Jay pointed his finger up, and all the attention turned to him.
“You know, they say food brings everyone together… So why don’t we have a feast, get to know each other, and, ya’ know, chill?”
“Yeah, y’all. I mean there’s this giant palace thingie with anything we could ever dream of for Pete’s sake. Can’t we just take the time to enjoy it while we’re here?” Emma said with a shrug. Ruby smiled.
“Emma’s right. Let’s relax, kick back, have some fun.”
Samuel’s face lit up at the idea of fun.
“Of course. So, are we all in?”
Emerald raised her eyebrows.
“Sure. I don’t see what the issue is.”
One by one, everyone agreed with this new decree. Have as much fun as it lasted, and get to know each other some more.
