“You look like you know what you’re doing,” Nova said, crossing her arms defensively. Ruby lowered her hand.
“It’s a long story,” Ruby sighed, “It came naturally to me when I woke up. Weird, isn’t it?”
“How’d you make those?” Nova asked, pointing at her bow and clothes. The strange bird nodded its head in approval at Ruby’s experience. Ruby noticed the bird just then and her eyes sparkled
“OMG, that dodo’s so cute!” Ruby said in a baby voice, crouching down to pet the bird. The dodo bird quickly ducked behind Nova’s legs, trying to get away from Ruby’s prying hands.
“Uhm. How’d you make those?” Nova asked her question again.
“Oh, sorry about that. I couldn’t help myself,” Ruby apologized, “But I figured out how to make the clothes with the gem in my wrist.”
Nova raised her eyebrow.
“The what now?”
Ruby rubbed her right wrist.
“Huh. I guess you don’t have one. Maybe it’s only me…”
Ruby began walking toward Nova. The closer she got, the more Nova realized how tall Ruby was compared to her. She was at least five inches taller than Nova. Ruby’s posture was really straight, and it still smelled like she had perfume on her. Upon closer inspection of her, Nova got a feeling that she had met this woman before.
“Wait a minute… You’re–” Nova’s eyes widened in realization. She thought,
“She’s the greatest cook of this school! How could I forget?! She won all the annual cooking competitions back at Aqua High!”
“You’re Master Chef Ruby, the one who cooked five meals at the same time! I didn’t think I’d meet you here and now…”
Ruby blushed at Nova’s compliment. It was as if she didn’t expect to be recognized for her achievements.
“Yeah. That’s me, hee hee,” Ruby giggled, “It’s been so long since someone’s recognized me. Ever since I retired and all…”
Nova noticed the sadness in Ruby’s eyes.
“Hey. I get it. You’ve won all there was to win,” Nova said. Her eyes darted around. She leaned in, wrapping her arm around Ruby’s neck, “Hey. You don’t happen to know how to cook still?”
“I might be a bit rusty,” Ruby warned. “Anyway… you wanted to know about the gem?”
“Yeah. What are you talking about?”
The dodo bird leaned in carefully as Ruby showed her right wrist to Nova. She winced and gritted her teeth at the sight. There, an oval-shaped implant was embedded deep into Ruby’s bone and flesh. The implant had lines along it that glowed a tinge of red.
“What is that thing?” Nova asked, feeling dizzy.
“I’m not sure. When I woke up, I felt an itch on my wrist and it was there,” Ruby said. Ruby’s eyes darted to Nova’s right wrist. “Yep. Looks like you don’t have it.”
Nova carefully checked her right wrist, as if the implant would be there too, but it wasn’t. She ran her fingers along her wrist, and it felt coarse and grainy. There was nothing there, everything was as it should’ve been.
“I came to know things I didn’t know,” Ruby explained, “Like how to make clothes with the fibers of the bushes, and how to make a bow out of the scraps of wood along the shore. And I was able to make it with speed too.”
“Huh,” Nova muttered, “It’s almost like a power or ability.”
Just then, the dodo bird, which was aimlessly kicking its feet in the sand, froze up, staring past Ruby. Nova looked down.
“What is it?” Nova wondered. It was hard to see in the night, but for a second, Nova saw…
Nova quickly grabbed Ruby by the shoulders and threw her to the side.
“WATCH OUT!”
Ruby flew to the ground, and her glasses flew off, hitting the sand just a few steps away. The rattle of what sounded like a rattlesnake sounded, and a glob of green goop was sent flying at Nova! The goop hit Nova in the sleeve, and she let out a groan as the bile seemed to burn away at the cloth. It was then a strange creature that stood on its hind legs and had small arms jumped out of the bushes and in front of Nova, smashing Ruby’s glasses underneath its feet. It let out a shrill shriek, its frill expanding and rattling. Nova raised her fists, and the dodo bird glared, standing beside Nova.
THWACK! An arrow hit the dinosaur right on the neck. Upon contact, the beast collapsed to the ground, globs of bile pouring out of its mouth as it did, the frills on its head collapsing back into its head. Its eyes rolled up to the back of its head as blood stained the sand. Nova took a moment to breathe, clutching her left arm tight. There was a slight burn on the bicep, like acid.
“What was that thing?” Nova asked, slightly out of breath. Ruby squinted her eyes, clearly trying to make the creature out without her glasses.
“It’s a Dilophosaurus,” Ruby diagnosed, “It was a dinosaur that lived in the Jurassic era. That’s weird though. I don’t remember them being this small, nor them using venom. All the dinosaur factbooks say otherwise.”
“So, there’s dinosaurs here,” Nova said with a sigh, “Well that’s just fun."
The island didn’t seem dangerous at first, but Nova’s prediction was correct. This definitely wasn’t going to be easy.
“Thanks for helping me out there,” Ruby thanked Nova, “I’m sorry about your arm. We’ll find a way to get it treated soon. Let’s just find a safe place to stay.”
Nova looked around carefully, wondering if the Dilophosaurus would have friends on standby.
“I really hope there’s no T. rex,” Nova murmured. The dodo bird shook in fear. Ruby must have heard Nova because she nodded in agreement.
“Hopefully…”
Ruby’s eyes darted across the grass. She began picking up sticks and ripping up leaves from the bushes. Nova blinked her eyes in disbelief.
“What are you doing?” Nova asked.
“Making a weapon for you,” Ruby replied, “To defend yourself with. We should work together. Surviving alone wouldn’t be wise for either of us.”
Nova felt a bit stunned, especially considering she didn’t have one of those implants to back her up. She didn’t mind eating some of Ruby’s tasty food either if she could get the opportunity.
“Okay then. Let’s keep walking down the river. Maybe we’ll find something,” Nova replied. The dodo bird squawked in agreement. Nova looked down at the bird and pointed at it.
“Can we let the little guy come along?”
Ruby shrugged. “I don’t see why not. I never got your name by the way.”
“Nova. My name’s Nova.”
Ruby smiled. “That’s a pretty name, Nova.”
“Thank you!”
With that, the three of them walked off to the plateau, with danger around at every corner.

ARKtic Memories: Part 10/12: Day 92: The Penultimate Day
Scorched Earth: Day 21
7 days remaining in SE…
It was a hot midday on Day 21 on Scorched Earth. Around 98 degrees, the five survivors wore their desert cloth, standing outside of their base, Rod was in the base, making the last of the harpoon guns, and Sodden, Serenity, Dorack, and Nal were near an Argy, which had a ton of arrows inside its inventory. Sodden and Serenity walked around the Argy, Dorack stood against the Argy’s tail, while Nal was sitting on the front porch of the base.
“It’s pretty dang hot today. You think we should wait until later this afternoon to hunt Wyverns?” Dorack asked. Sodden sighed and turned to him.
“We have a lot of talons to get. We can’t just hold off until later. Remember, we gotta leave as fast as we can. I still can’t trust Rod with anything.” Sodden said. Dorack was sweaty, with sweat pouring down his arms, and sighed as he sat down.
“You know… when you talked on and on about Arktic, I went to get Tundra like last week. She remembered me well, and she reminded me of what went down in the last 3 days of our time at Snowball. Tundra’s a great wolf. We can use her to kill the Wyverns. It’d be good to get some wyvern milk from them to feed our new Wyvern.” Dorack said. Sodden nodded, and Serenity walked to Dorack. “Good idea. Should we bring our Wyvern to Aberration?” Nal asked. Dorack and Serenity shot a glare at Nal. “Oh… right. I forgot.” Nal chuckled.
“We had no flyers on Snowball either. We had to walk everywhere when we were there. Tundra helped a lot. The mountain… oh…” Dorack sighed. Nal stood up just then.
“Are you getting memories back?” Nal asked. Dorack nodded.
“Yeah. I haven’t gotten much on Day 92 and any of Day 93. Remember the brain injury I got?” Dorack asked. Everyone nodded, then they heard the door click and creak open, and Rod walked out of it. He walked slowly, his bag was big, and he walked down the stairs slowly. “Oh, my god. How many harpoons did you make?” Sodden asked. “Uh, we need 60 Wyverns, so I wanted a lot extra, so I just made 183.” Rod said. “183! Oh, my god. What about the guns?” Sodden asked. “I used all our metal and hide and fiber to upgrade them all the way to ascendant.” Rod said. Sodden gasped. “Bro… it’s like the Narcotics For Days sign except with harpoons.” Dorack said. “I don’t think we needed that much. Okay, just give 45 to each of us. Keep the last three.” Sodden said. Rod did not say anything. He was silent for a few seconds.
“Why am I only getting 3?” Rod asked.
“For storage. I don’t want you coming with us. And I want you to get all the metal, fiber, hide, and whatnot you possibly can. We need more metal for things like armor and saddles. Our Rexes are almost ready.” Sodden said. Rod growled deeply.
“Fine.” Rod sneered. He then took his bag off his back, then lifted a pile of 45 harpoons, then gave one to Serenity, who walkekd to the bag. Serenity took the harpoons, then Dorack, Sodden, and Nal each walked to the bag and took out 45 harpoons. Then the four survivors took out the harpoon guns from the bottom of the bag. Rod then closed the bag afterwards and put it back on his back. He turned around and stormed back into the base. Sodden turned to the 2 Argies, then Sodden and Serenity got on one, Dorack and Nal got on the other, then they took off to go to the wyvern trench, for wyvern farming.

Day 92 of ARKtic
27 hours before Nal and Dorack’s escape
“The Signal of Hope”
Running. The rustling of bags. The yelling. The rushing. Nal and Dorack were packing their bags with food, water, fur armor sets, and weapons. Nal sat in her room, frantically running to the storage boxes and back to her bag, shoving in water jars (they were not high level enough for canteens) and some armor. Nal panted heavily as she pushed in the last of the supplies. The two survivors were preparing to travel to the mountain, the Iceberg Slaughter. The coldest part of the entire Ark, besides the Treacherous (the cave). On the peak was the white obelisk, which they could use to send a signal to the tek cave terminal, where Nal and Dorack originally reached Snowball from, and alert Nudon. This could mean Codred could receive the signal and create a path from their Ark to Snowball. When the signals connect, it will create a path. Nal and Dorack could go home from there! Nal and Dorack could simply use the artifact they got to send a signal to The Island. They just needed some supplies. Dorack had food in his bag, then ran across the base to Nal’s room, where Nal was panting and shoving some piles of food and a sword into her bag. “Hey, you ready to go?” Dorack asked. Nal turned around and looked up, staring at Dorack, and nodded. Nal closed up her bag then put it on her back. Then Dorack and Nal walked out of the door of their base, then walked to their animal pen, where they found Tundra and a few other tames. Nal and Dorack opened the gate and got on Tundra, then they walked out of the gateway. Dorack groaned as he pushed the gates closed, then when the gate was closed down, Nal and Dorack began to run with their wolf up north, towards the giant mountain. The mountain was around -35 degrees even in the day, and in snowstorm nights, it can reach a whopping -97 degrees! It also had a ton of rex spawns, diirewolves, purlovias, Alphas of these creatures, and some Yutyrannuses. But nothing compared to the 0.903 percent chance of the spawning of the Feathered Giganotosaurus.
After almost 2 hours of riding Tundra, Nal and Dorack finally approached the tall, cold mountain. They were at the base of the mountain, facing a path that went up the mountain, a slope speckled with rocks and metal nodes, and some obsidian here and there. Nal and Dorack took a deep breath and they began to ascend up the slope, jumping across rocks and running through underpasses. As they got higher up, it got colder, the slope was more icy. The mountain was around 700 meters tall, one of the tallest mountains in the universe. The white obelisk’s tip touched the force field on Snowball. Nal shivered a bit. The fur armor was helping a little, but she and Dorack still felt a little cold. They weren’t even halfway up. They were running past and outrunning Rexes, direwolves, and even purlovias.
After 10 minutes, Nal and Dorack finally reached the peak of Iceberg. They approached a large rocky ground, where there were large rocky statues towering over the terminal and surrounding the terminal platform. Nal and Dorack hopped off their wolf, then they heard footfalls. They gasped and turned around quickly. The footsteps got louder, and they heard panting. Something came from behind the rock that sat on the edge of the path. It was a wolf, and someone sat on it, in fur armor, holding a sword in his right hand and a water jar in his left. “Hey, guys! Been a while. Saw you going to this mountain, so I followed you. Why you up here?” The person asked. Nal gasped. “Jerboa, good to see you again. We’re going home, that’s why. We’re going to send a signal to me and Dorack’s tribe on The Island that we’re on Snowball, then they’ll create a warp from their Ark. Then we create a warp from this Ark, and when they connect it’ll create a transport path back to The Island. We’re going home soon.” Nal said, determined. “Oh… you’re about to leave? Aw, man. We just saw each other again for the first time in almost 3 weeks! You’re going to be gone for good and I’ll be here… alone…” Jerboa said sadily as he got off his wolf and sighed, then walked to a rock. He put his sword on the rock and his hand on the rock. “Jerboa… we want you to come with us. You’re going to have a way less challenging and way better life on The Island. Well, minus the fact you can’t respawn.” Nal said. Jerboa gasped as he turned his head around to look at Nal and Dorack. “Really? I can go with you guys?” Jerboa said, excited. Nal and Dorack smiled and nodded. Jerboa jumped and shouted in excitement.
“Yes! I will not have to cower inside my base and behind my tames anymore! Although I’ll miss the super OP creatures we have.” Jerboa said. “You can bring them. You just have to put them in the obelisk and send them to the Ark the warp is coming from.” Nal said. Jerboa gasped.
“I’m leaving. Oh, my god. I’m bringing my creatures with me! When do we go!?” Jerboa exclaimed.
“We need to communicate with Nudon first, send them the signal, wait for them to create the warp, then we can create the second warp. I think they’ll be ready by tomorrow, hopefully.” Nal said. Jerboa nodded.

Later on Day 21 of SE…
It was past midday when Sodden and the others had arrived at the World Scar, aka the Wyvern trench. They began to fly into the trench, sticking to the left side to avoid drawing any wyverns early. They saw 2 Wyverns after flying around for a few minutes. A Fire Wyvern and Poison Wyvern were walking on the ground, near a nest that sat near the lava river. The nest had a poison Wyvern egg in it. The Wyverns grumbled as they walked slowly around the nest in a circle, their talons tapping the rocky, hot ground and their wings softly beating. Sodden took the harpoon gun out of his bag, then Dorack took his gun out of his bag. They both loaded a harpoon into the gun, then flew closer to the ground, closer to the nets. The Wyverns had their backs turned to the Argies coming. Then when the Argies hovered over the lava, Sodden aimed his harpoon gun at the Fire Wyvern, then pulled the trigger.
SNAP!
The harpoon broke out of the gun and soared through the air, its net began to open from the inside. It expanded until it hit the wyvern’s tail, and the net then blew apart as it engulfed the wyvern, the wyvern screeched and lifted its wings, but the net held them down and encased the wyvern’s body fully. The wyvern screeched loudly and the poison wyvern roared, but a net hit it and encased it, holding it down. Dorack had shot the second net at the other wyvern. Then Sodden led his Argy to the ground just next to the Wyverns, Dorack following him, then they landed their Argies at the nest. Dorack hopped off then took a cryopod out of his bag, then threw it at the ground in front of him. Tundra the wolf came out of it. Dorack got on the wolf, then the wolf lunged at the Fire Wyvern’s neck. It was a low level, so it died pretty easily. The poison wyvern was next. After Tundra was done biting the Fire Wyvern, it lept to the Poison Wyvern and bit its wing hard, ripping it apart. Then Tundra ran to its head, and bit its neck. It died soon after. Dorack then opened the inventories of the wyverns to grab one wyvern talon from them. 2 talons down, 58 to go. Then Dorack looked up to see some wyverns roaring, at least 7, flapping their wings hard and gliding downwards towards Dorack and the others. Sodden gasped and yanked the harpoon gun out of his bag, taking out two harpoons. He loaded one and Serenity and Nal loaded one on their guns. Dorack reloaded his gun and they shot the harpoons. The harpoons soared tthrough the air, striked the wings of the Wyverns, and 4 of the Wyverns had nests covering their bodies. They fell to the ground just across the lava river. The last three wyverns were fire wyverns. They roared loudly. “Quick, pick me up!” Dorack shouted. Nal nodded, then the Argies lifted their bodies off the ground and began flapping their wings as they flew to Dorack. Nal’s Argy then extended its talons and they sunk into Tundra’s body, then lifted it up as Dorack gripped tight onto the wolf. The wyverns roared a fire breath along the dead wyverns, but the Argies had gotten out of the way. Two lightning wyverns came and launched a laser at Sodden’s Argy, but the lasers missed and cracked the walls. Nal then dropped the wolf, and it descended down to the wyverns that were netted. Then the wolf opened its mouth and sunk its teeth into the back of one wyvern, then ripped off its skin and tore up its wing.. The wyvern would bleed out. The wolf did the same thing to two more wyverns, then the last one ripped up the net. It lifted its wings, but before it could take off, Tundra bit its left wing and tore it apart, ripping apart its wing, the wyvern screeched and fell forward into the lava pool, and died quickly. The other survivors had netted the other Wyverns and were now killing them off.
After all the wyverns were dead, the survivors got 6 fire talons, 3 poison talons, and 2 lightning talons in total. That was 11 talons in total. The survivors met at the top of the trench, near the dunes.
“What now?” Dorack asked. He had a cryopod in his hand, which had Tundra in it. He sat on his Argy with Nal, while Sodden and Serenity sat on the other Argy.
“We keep going. We will not stop until we have what we need. We just gotta wait for more wyverns to spawn.” Sodden said. Everyone stared at him, and nodded in agreement.
Throughout the day, they waited and waited for around 2 hours, would go hunt more wyverns, then would wait longer. As the sun set that day, their first day of grinding was done. They flew on the Argies back to the base. They also needed levels. Sodden was Level 71, Rod was Level 74, Nal was Level 69, and Dorack was Level 72. Day 22, they hunted more wyverns. At the end of that day, they had 12 lightning talons, 17 fire talons, and 17 poison talons. They got even more levels too. Sodden and Dorack both reached Level 80. They would kill deathworms using the wolf and their alpha raptor with some XP notes to get levels fast. Rod was at Level 79 and Nal was at Level 78. Day 23-27 was the same thing, grinding, leveling, and getting better saddles for the Rexes too. Rexes were done raising, and their saddles were almost done. Each saddle was around 100 armor. They had all the talons too. Then came the final day on Scorched Earth…
You’ll have to wait until Chapter 37 to see!

ARKtic Day 92
24 hours, 40 minutes before Nal and Dorack’s escape
Nal, Dorack, and Jerboa stood in front of the obelisk terminal. They stared deeply at the terminal device, shivering a little from the extreme temperatures of Iceberg. Nal and Dorack held the artifact together, Nal’s hand on the left handle and Dorack’s hand on the right. They carried it onto the top of the terminal device, then it made a click sound as it was inserted into the obelisk. They had to push it in further to activate the message. Nal and Dorack strained and grunted as they pushed the artifact into the device. Then suddenly…
CLUNK!
The artifact began to glow brightly, a blue glow appeared around it. Then a white beam of light shot up from it and flew upwards, then it flew out of Snowball Earth’s forcefield. It flew into the main The Island to Scorched Earth path, flying towards The Island. It then flew towards the volcano inside the force field, striking the terminal to the Tek Cave. Every survivor on The Island saw the light. It hit the terminal device, causing a blue ball to appear around it. Codred heard the commotion and ran out of the castle, dropping the shotgun he was working on (they were still working on the god shotgun at the time lol). Denine came out too, and so did Sal, Paul, Cendor, Rick, and a few others. Codred looked up at the volcano, seeing the beam of light shooting up from it. “What’s that?” Codred said, squinting his eyes at it. “Let’s go see!” Sal yelled. Then everyone took a cryopod out of their bags, threw them at the ground, releasing some Argies. The group got on the Argies then took off for the volcano.
When the Argies reached the volcano, they saw a blue ball of light, which was transparent, and it was rotating slowly. The group landed their Argies just outside of the transparent ball and walked in, then they saw a strange light above the device. It was shaped like a star, and colored silver. Then they heard a voice.
“Hey! Testing. Can you hear me? This should work for you too. It’s a communicator.” The voice said. Codred gasped. He recognized it instantly. “N-Nal? Is that you?” Codred asked, excited. He walked closer to the terminal device.
“I can hear you! It’s working. Hey! It’s been months.” Nal said. Codred yelled in excitement and jumped three times.
“Yes! Oh, it’s you guys! It’s been so long! Where the heck were you guys all this time?” Codred shouted.
“Snowball Earth.” Dorack responded. Codred gasped.
“That’s like… 7 out of 8 difficulty!! I cannot believe you survived that long there!! Without dying once!” Codred yelled.
“Yes. We sent you a warp signal. You just need to get the supplies to send us one.” Dorack said. “Oh, okay. Okay. We have most of it already. We should have it by tomorrow.” Codred responded. Then he heard a voice he didn’t recognize.
“Hey! You must be Codred, as your friends told me, or as you like to go by, Red. I’m Jerboa. I spawned in on that Ark and Nal and Dorack saved me from dying instantly.” Jerboa said. Codred nodded.
“Yeah, that’s me. Nice to meet you. Oh, my god. They’re coming home tomorrow!!” Codred screamed in excitement as he jumped up and down. Everyone cheered and ran to Codred, and jumped for joy. They ran back to their Argies. Codred looked back and said,
“We’ll see you soon.” Then they took off.
Nal and Dorack took the star-shaped communicator off the device and Nal put it in her bag. Nal made a soft chuckle as she and Dorack smiled. “We’re going home tomorrow.” Dorack whispered. Jerboa laughed.
“We’re going home at last!!” Nal yelled. Then she, Dorack, and Jerboa ran at each other and hugged each other. After having a big group hug, they walked to their wolf. “Well, let’s get to our base. Jerboa, you can come with us.” Nal said. Jerboa gasped.
Of course. I just gotta pick up my creatures first. I’ll meet you at your base.” Jerboa said. Nal and Dorack nodded.
“Sounds good.” Nal said. Then they got on their wolves and began to descend down the mountain.
I hope you’re ready for the Segment II Finale!
I wanna get the next chapters out in like 3-6 days.

Chapter 2: Beasts of the Past - Venom Spitters
Original Post Date: Oct 29, 2023
Note: Story starts in Wyvern, Aerial ABC backwards filter and has a Prologue. Last chapter in Wyvern, next chapter in Voidwyrm.
“What the hell…” Samuel gasped with a disgusted look on his face.
“Now I know you think this looks bad,” Neddy replied with worry on his face, “But I don’t mean no harm.”
“I think the more important question is where are your clothes?” Samuel asked. The strange bird squawked at Neddy in disapproval. Neddy gasped as his eyes lay on the strange bird.
“Woah… I can’t believe it, a dodo!” Neddy cried in pleasure.
“Hey, you haven’t answered my question!” Samuel yelled at him.
“Oh, heh heh heh, sorry,” Neddy apologized, “I ditched the robe because it was getting itchy.”
Samuel gave Neddy a suspicious look.
“I think you’re just a weirdo.”
“I’m not a weirdo, I promise.”
Neddy got up from the ground, brushing the sands and dirts off his pale skin. In comparison Neddy was much shorter than Samuel, by about say 5 inches. Neddy’s back was hunched over, and a sour smell radiated from his armpits. Upon closer inspection of him, Samuel got a feeling that he had met this boy before.
“Wait a minute… You’re-” Samuel began to laugh, as he leaned over, slapping his hand on his knee while Neddy looked on nervously. “You’re Neddy the Nerd, the guy in computer engineering! Oh my goodness I didn’t think I’d meet you of all people here on this damned place.”
Neddy scrunched up his face, rubbing his nose as he did so.
“Y-Yeah. That’s me, heh heh,” Neddy laughed back.
Samuel noticed Neddy’s unease and reassured him.
“Don’t worry dude. I’m not going to hurt you, I have no reason to,” Samuel said, “But, why were you hiding in the bushes anyway?”
“Well, I felt a sudden urge to come here. The gem told me to,” Neddy explained.
“What gem are you talking about?”
“The gem on your wrist, don’t you have it too?”
Neddy showed his left arm to Samuel, and he winced and gritted his teeth at the sight. There a rhombus-shaped implant was embedded deep into his bone and flesh. The implant had lines along it that glowed a tinge of blue.
“What is that thing?” Samuel asked, getting dizzy.
“I dunno. When I woke up on the beach I felt an itch on my wrist and it was there,” Neddy said. Neddy’s eyes darted to Samuel’s wrist. “Looks like you don’t have it.”
Samuel carefully checked his wrist, as if the implant would be there too, but it wasn’t. He ran his fingers along his wrist, and it felt coarse and grainy. There was nothing there, everything was as it should’ve been.
“I find it weird, but yeah,” Neddy explained, “When I woke up, I decided to walk along the beach to see what I could find. That was when I felt a hum from the implant, and the farther I walked along the coast the more the hum grew. I guess the implant was drawing me here to find you?”
“Huh,” Samuel muttered, “I guess it could be like that.”
Just then, the dodo bird pecked Samuel on the leg. Samuel looked down.
“What is it?” he asked impatiently. Suddenly the bushes ahead rustled, and all eyes went to the bushes. The wind was silent but soft, brushing along their skin as no noise was made. Then the slight call that rang across the sand.
Haw. Haw?? Haw!
The rattle of what sounded like a rattlesnake sounded, and a glob of green goop was suddenly sent flying at Neddy! Neddy let out a scream of surprise as the goop hit him in the face, blocking his eyesight. It was then a strange creature that stood on its hind legs and had small arms jumped out of the bushes and onto Neddy. Neddy let out a scream of fear as the strange beast began to claw at Neddy’s chest. Samuel quickly clutched onto the rock and rushed forward, slamming it into the beast’s head. CLUNK! Upon contact, the beast collapsed to the ground, globs of venom pouring out of its mouth as it did, the frills on its head collapsing back into its head. Neddy took a moment to breathe, as the wind blew harder on them. The tree leaves rustled, the tension in the air faded away.
“What was that?!” Samuel asked, albeit not as scared as Neddy. Neddy took his glasses off, wiping them on his body and then throwing them to the side. He wiped the remaining green stuff off his face and took a moment to look at the creature.
“A Dilophosaurus,” Neddy diagnosed, “A dinosaur straight from the past… Just like the dodo. They were predatory creatures that used mainly their claws to kill their prey due to their weak jaws. Movies like Jurassic Park idealized the concept of them using venom to blind their prey.”
“So, there’s dinosaurs here,” Samuel said with a gulp. The island didn’t seem so dangerous at first. Samuel thought that maybe there would be a bear or two, but not dinosaurs straight from the Mesozoic Era.
“This island is a lot more dangerous than we think,” Neddy told Samuel, “We’re going to have to tread carefully from now on. We don’t know what else could be out there, wanting to eat us for their next meal.”
Samuel looked around himself, as if another dinosaur was going to pop up.
“You think… You think there’s a T-Rex on here?” Samuel asked with worry. Neddy paused.
“Let’s hope not.”
Neddy got up from the ground, looking behind him and at a plateau rise that stuck out from the rest of the ground, like a small hill that protruded from the earth. A point of interest.
“So, what’s the plan?” Samuel asked.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Neddy replied, “Surviving on the island alone is futile, and too risky. We’re going to have to work together, and find more people that could hopefully help us out.”
“It sounds like a plan,” Samuel replied. The dodo bird squawked in agreement.
“Then let’s go,” Neddy said.
With that, the three of them walked off to the plateau, with danger around at every corner.
I lived in the ragnorok desert. One day I logged on and realized I got raided. All my tames, buildings, supplies, tribemates were gone. I was the only one who survived the raid and had spoiled meat on me. A level 145 vulture landed right next to me and I decided to just tame it. I now have 10 level 200+ vultures and they are invincible! I haven't been raided since, maybe people are scared of my vicious vultures or I just found a good base set up.
How to tame: put spoiled meat in last slot. Walk up to one on the ground and feed it. Wait till it lands again and keep feeding it.

Chapter three: bittersweet
“As long as I have breath in my lungs son, I will never tell you where James is..” Sophia said stubbornly, her eyes filled with tears. The Krakos roared with anger and scooped her up with one hand, and started slamming her down into the ground. Sophia gritted her teeth in pain.
Over and over and over again. Slammed into the ground. Over and over until finally Sophia went limp. The Krakos dropped her and she fell like a bird plummeting from the sky. *CRACK*
And then suddenly the Krakos began to shrink back into Tom.
A mixture of conflicted emotions ran across Tom’s face when he saw his mother lying, bloodied and broken, on the ground. He ran to her side and scooped her up into his arms. “Mom? Mom? Mom please—” Tears began to stream down Tom’s face. Sophia focused her eyes on his face and gave him a lopsided smile.
She placed her bloodied hand on the side of his face. “I still love you…Tom. But what’ve you done…some things just can’t be forgiven, son.” Tom shook his head violently, his body beginning to shake with sobs. “Not you too! Mom please! Don’t leave me…I have nothing left! He took everything from me! I just wanted—I want—Mom? Mom don’t leave me..” Tom sobbed. Sophia’s hand dropped from his face and her head lolled to the side, she stared at her dead husband and she swallowed.
“Mom?”
“Your father thought you were weak and meek..” Sophia said softly. She smiled weakly. “Guess he didn’t know how much of his temper you inherited.” And then her breaths stopped and her body went absolutely still. Tom’s face contorted with rage and sadness.
He lifted his face and screamed his pain to the twinkling stars above…

“Hi. I’m Lucas. You look new here. You looking for a place to stay? My mom owns the hotel.” The teenager said. He had yellowish hair and grey eyes and his nose was rather lumpish. Freckles were all over his face. Tom stared at him blankly for a second then nodded slowly. “Yes. Maybe just for a while..” Lucas grinned, he was missing several front teeth.
“Okay! Follow me!” He exclaimed. As Tom did he pulled the hood down. There was little chance of him being recognized and it wasn’t raining anymore. Suddenly he got the strange creeping feeling that he was being watched and he turned his head.
Someone vanished into the shadows. Tom swallowed and shook the feeling away. It was probably no one. Lucas led him to a small humble brown brick building with red curtains hanging in the windows. The roof was slopes and the building seemed to be two or three floors high. Inside if smelled like the house had been heavily bleached.
A older woman who definitely resembled Lucas appeared. She was a plump woman with yellow hair piled in a bun on top of her head and her eyes were a dark warm nameless color. She wiped her wet hands(She’d just washed her hands) on her apron and held out her hand for Tom to shake.
Her grip was ironlike and Tom was glad when the handshake was over. “Hi. I’m Whitney. I see that you’ve met my darling son, Lucas, ehh?” She said. Tom nodded. “And you’re here for a room?”
“Yes. Yes I am.” Tom said. “Okay. So…between the costs of a room and meals that should be…fifty six doubloons per week.” Whitney said. Tom felt another twinge of annoyance but he pushed it away. Why was everything so expensive?!
He nodded and handed a small bagful of doubloons to her. Whitney grinned. “Okay! So let me show you around. It’s time for the tour! Lucas help me out, ehh?” Lucas perked up and saluted his mother. “Yes ma’am!” They led Tom along, giving him the “grand tour”.
At some point in time Tom stopped listening and just began looking around mostly out the window. He caught sight a few familiar houses that hadn’t been destroyed.
While there was still familiar landmarks a lot had changed. In fact the world had changed. Was changing. And for the first time…Tom felt like he wasn’t going with it. He was old.
And useless basically. A old man. Who’d killed many people, yes but still a old man.

Tales of Pandora
Origins of Salizar, chapter 6 ~meetings~
Doctor Primalis entered King Drake’s throne room, artifact still in hand. “It seems you have a death wish Primalis. Didn’t I tell you never to show your face to me again…” Drake said. A giant man wearing flak growled at Primalis. “Now now Grizzly, not yet. Let the fool speak.” Drake said. “Sire, me and my men were following the mesopithicus when we stubbled upon this,” Primalis held up his left arm for the king to see, “what is this trinket?” Drake said, sounding mildly interested. “I am not sure, but I hope you’ll allow me to run tests on it, discover it’s secrets.” Primalis said. “Go.” King Drake said. Primalis started to exit the room when Drake said softly but threateningly, “and remember. This is your last chance…”
Salizar crawled onto shore, he landed in a pool of water, hidden by the trees above. “All according to plan.” He said happily.
“What do we do now Ryker?” Wretch asked. “Only thing we can do, wait. Hope these humans find the artifacts quickly so we can leave this place.” Ryker said. “What about the seed?” Ras asked. “That part of the plan hasn’t changed.” Ryker said. “You think that mesopithicus is still alive?” Killion asked. “Questions questions…” Ryker said. “No way he’s alive, nobody could survive a fall like that.” Ras said.
Salizar wandered through the woods, he had no real idea of what to do now but wait. He walked until he saw a cave, “intriguing.” He said. He walked slowly into the cave, but just when he entered the darkness several creatures fell from the ceiling and surrounded him. “Welcome traveler.” One said. “Who are you, what are you.” Salizar said. “Vwe are ze dessmoduz, and vwe hope you will stay for dinner.” Another said, some chuckled when he said this. “Let me guess, your going to suck me dry.” Salizar said with a laugh. “Oh no vwe vwould neve- GGGRRGL” the desmodus dropped to the ground dead. “Huh, turns out you don’t need a wooden stake.” Salizar said. “He killed Chauncey!” A desmodus shouted. “Now now, I like his spirit, let us take him to the Count.” A desmodus said. “Let’s.” Salizar said. They marched through the cave, going left at a fork, until they reached the desmodus cavern. “Count Ghost, we have a traveler, he killed Chauncey.” The desmodus said. “Hmm small pickings today Drain?” The Count said. “Oh no he’s not a “guest” he’s an actual guest master.” Drain said. “Ah, well in that case, it is I, yours truly, Count Ghost. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Count Ghost said. “The pleasure is all mine most honorable Count. (Butt kisser..) I am Salizar.” Salizar said. “Well, enjoy your stay Salizar, and let me know if anything is not to your liking, I am after all an honorable host.” Count Ghost said. “Count! That kid is gone again!” A desmodus said. “The orphan? Hmm probably out picking bloodfruit, let him be.” The Count said. “Your probably right, I just worry about that stupid vegan.” The desmodus said. “Actually Count,” Salizar said. Count Ghost turned his attention to Salizar. “I have a proposal.” Salizar said. “Go on.” Ghost said. “I have led the humans to something very powerful, but it is all a ploy, I believe someone of your.. abilities.. could benefit.” Salizar said. “Benefit how?” The Count asked.
Journey: Chapter 7
Forest was shocked, he didn’t know how this could happen except it had to involve what Rust did to the rune.
“So, how did I get here??” Forest asked for a possible second opinion. All he got was a shrug from the troodon.
“Well, thanks! Your a real help aren’t you?? You knock me out, rummage through my bag and give me a heart attack about where I am. And all you have for me is a shrug?!” Forest said in irritation, he thought at least the troodon would have a response for how.
“Look, I know a lot about the Arks. But any travel I know only pertains to humans or tamed traveling. Whatever you did, is something the Order of the Arks never learned or passed down.” The theropod said calmly, Forest heard and got really confused again.
“Order of the Arks? What is that? Also I didn’t catch your name?” Forest said asking genuinely, “My name is Nightfall. And for your main question, the Order of the Arks is, well what it sounds like. An order, or as humans would say an secret society made up of a specific species that are the second smartest creature and this order allows this species’ to communicate across all the Arks…” Nightfall said hesitantly. Almost as if he thought he said too much.
“Okay so why are you telling me about this secret order you are and all troodons are apart of, and I thought Gigantopithecus was the next smartest creature after humans? And what are the Arks? You know what, I don’t want to know my last question’s answer. Just answer the the first two.” Forest said, holding his head as a headache began forming.
“Well, as of last week, I am no longer a true member of the Order of the Arks, they had been trying to find a way to out me because of my size. I mean I am an subadult, but I’m like half the size of what I should be. But they could never find a good reason for me to be exiled. So I beat them to it and resigned from the order.” Nightfall said
“And what about the Gigantopithecus being smarter?” Forest said wondering if the troodon was telling the truth.
“Gigantopithecus are stupid things, the only reason why creatures think they are smarter than everyone is because they’re closer relative to humans!!! It’s a lie, troodons have been studying and spying on Gigantopithecus for decades and they aren’t even close!!!” Said Nightfall in furious monologue.
“Sorry, anytime I talk to any creature they ask why do you think Troodons are smarter than Gigantopithecus’s and I could never say anything.” Nightfall said apologetically. “It’s alright.” Forest said. ‘Well there goes making it on time to the celebration.’ Forest thought to himself.
So I have all avian shoulder pets (featherlight, this ugly thing, ichthyornis, that one goose thing with the golden eggs, and a fjordhawk) in cages because idk and I capture small creatures and bring them into base and I execute the animal in front of them. My vulture and featherlight just watch in anticipation while the goose looks shook, the ichthy is just like “iM sUcH a SoLemN sInGeR.” And my hawk is just like “Hm.” For some reason this is entertaining to me
I’d never bothered taming a vulture before, but was curious... My main base is on The Island and I was asking around if anyone had a culture or two they’d trade for. (No one had any.) So, I hopped over to my little Crystal Isles cabin, grabbed my Wyvern, a ton of water jars, and a couple stacks of spoiled meat... I’m gonna go try to tame a 100+ Vulture or two... I really hoped to see a 135+. — I fly right to the dunes area, landed, and TWO 150’s were f’n mate boosted together FIRST THING! Tamed them both! Boom. Now, I have Vulture parents. 👍🏼
I was crossing the desert at night with a flock of 30 vultures. A thunderstorm happened. I couldnt see anything. I could only hear the storm. Suddenly, vultures started being killed. A deathworm was out there in the dark. I whistled passive and ran blindly through the storm. When the sun came up, I was alone on the sand. Again. Stupid
THE SWARM ep I of the Sahara: It was a hot day as normal. Ughh when will it cool down??? Asked moon. Sigh, I don’t know! Stop asking evry ten seconds! Snapped star. Star and moon we’re two velociraptor twins. Ugh, there are dumb gas-bags everywhere. At least it’s a good source of food. Whispered star to herself. They then saw a little pool of water. It was dirty and full of muck, but it will do. Waterrrrrrr! Yelled moon. Shhh! I smell tracks of a Rex. Be quiet. Said star. Moon then collapsed onto the ground. Star started dragging her pathetic twin. Stop acting like a baby! Snapped star. Star then look up and saw five black figures in the sky, circling them in the sky. Star put her claws above her eyes and looked up. Those don’t look like dumb Pteranodons. Oh well. Said star. The figures then looked biger, and they were definitely NOT pteranodons. They got bigger and bigger, until they stoped. Moon looked up and said, uhhh star? What are those things? Star replied, the heat is probably just getting to us, now get up and start walking. Okay. Ughhhh. Moon said.they then drank the water, and moved on. (This is part 1)
Was playing Crystal Isles after getting a little bored of Fjordur. Built myself a canoe and went on a journey essentially across the map. Along the way, I tamed a few vultures. Only kept one, who I named Squash. At some point a sarco catches up to me and starts attacking me, so in a panic I row up to a tiny landmass and exit the canoe. I am promptly munched by the croc. I didn't bother to go get my stuff since the sarco would probably still be there. As one does, I mourned the loss of my little rat bird Squash. Much later, I tame up a ptera. Fly over to where I died. Not only is the canoe intact, but Squash is alive. Check his inventory and he has sarco skin. Never owned a vulture before this, so I was shocked. I take Squash with me everywhere now and I hope he never dies.
Long live Squash.
So I had a flock of about 20 of these guys. One day, I went out adventuring in scorched and a rock golem popped up. I started running away but he threw a rock wiping out 17/20 of my my vultures. I was mad, so I was heading back to base to log off when a max level daedon came up out of nowhere and started attacking me. He killed at the rest of my vultures including the best on I had, Big blue Birb.
