When taming it perfers cooked meat. Dont waste raw mutton. Cook it just right to satisfy the pricke lizard

When taming it with meat starve it and make a perserving bin place in the back of foundation so you can fit yourself in the tent then make sure you have sparkpowder and perserving salt because they eat food every 50 hunger for meat so put in perserving bin and spike around it for easy tame

Grab ur chainsaw and use this thing as the pack mule, u average about 500 wood per tree

Its best to knockout from up high where you are out of reach as it has quick attacks and decent damage. It does have a ranged topar attack as well but is easily dodged. Tranq darts are always the best option but if not available, delay your shots with tranq arrows by 2 to 5 seconds to allow the topar to build all they way. That way the arrows dont accidentally kill it.

Put a floor on ur paracer with walls and a celling then put gate at back with ramps leading dwn stick 3 or 4 of these on back of paracer to carry say 4x 500 in carryweight of wood but a paracer can hold say 1500 only 1000-1200 will be used depending on the weight of thornys

Be sure to bring tranq arrows and narcotics and be sure to run when dino is angry!

Does not gather wood in the swamp or rare mushrooms not sure if it's bugged on the island

Have your friend carry you with an argentavis so you won't get hit by its secondary torpor attack and shoot tranc arrows down at its head

The thorny dragon (thorny) is the beaver of scorched earth. There's only one problem. It has little hp and dies very quickly. I recomend using a couple wolves or sabertooth to act as a bodyguard while collecting thatch and wood.

145 with cooked chops tamed to 207 ate 50 on 1.5 taming dododex never lied to me before think it might be time to update? May have changed efficiency of cooked chops.

What my friends do is we get electric prods from mantas and knock it out that way. Other way except tranq darts xan kill the thorny dragon.

Becomes a mobile smithy with saddle on. Most materials weigh much less on it than with other tames. The only way to make some ascendant equiptment is with a thorny dragon with high weight. Decently collects wood and thatch ( mostly wood.) collects hide, chitin and organic polymer well. If useing as a battle tame be sure to have a good saddle equipt. Its ranged attack if used in a group can knock other players out easily. With a 2 day egg to adult period breeding can be very easy for this tame.
