***How To Gain A Griffin's Respect?***

1_ have the same surname as the griffin. Example: If ur name is Yumir

and the griffin's name is Xyz-mir then u have the same surname

*tip* u need to be lvl 45+ with the same surname for it to respect you

2_ be level 95+ for EVERY griffin to respect you

3_Have Primal Pass and unlock Gold Crown

***How To Tame It?***

If you have done 1 of the steps in ***How To Gain A Griffin's Respect?*** and u got the griffin to respect u this is what you have to do

1_ knockout the griffin

2_ get a hide sleeping bag and sleep next to it that will bring its hunger to 0

3_feed it a 15x soothing balm

4_feed it its preferred allo egg kibble or raw prime meat

5_ wait till its tamed

6_ ride the bad boi and have fun flying ^_^

***How To Breed Griffins?***

so to breed griffins and get a fertillized griffin egg what you have to do is:

1_ get two griffins with the same surname with the opposite sex

2_ bring them somewhere safe and make sure theyre next to eachothers

3_ put them on wandering mode

4_ spam the whistle menu and stop all button

5_ keep doing No.4 till the egg comes out

6_ hatch which takes about 6 hours.

So here’s a trick I have learned so I am currently taking my second griffin but here’s some tricks and tips I learn

Tips:

Go run the south cave or any caves that give soothing balm

Use a trap with about 4-6 stone dinosaur gateways place one gate keep the other one

I also recommend bringing high damaging weapons to kill other animals for prime meat

You may also want an argy and upgrade speed and health

Steps:

1. Find a safe area to lure the griffin and build your trap

2. After getting the griffin the respects you lure it through the open side of your trap without the gate

3. When it gets in the trap and you close the gate put the argy in front of the gate so the griffin is agro to it and quickly place the gate behind

4. Put a sleeping bag by the trap and sleep it will starve out the griffin to 0

5. After starving your griffin quickly knock it out and put in the soothing balm

6. Quickly get prime meat and feed it

How to gain a griffins respect

Have the same surname as the griffin and when your lvl 40 it will respect you with your surname

Be lvl 85 and above for low lvl griffins or 95 and above for all griffins

Have primal pass and gold crown

Recommendations

Have around 60 tranq darts with you just in case you never know

Tame low lvls so it will be easier to tame

Save up 100 ancient amber and get a name change ticket and scout out the griffin you want then change your name to it’s surname

Well that’s all I can think of but I hope this can help some people with taking their griffins

To all who are wanting to tame one: (WARNING! WALL OF TEXT)

If you are level 40+, your surname needs to match that of one of these creatures. For example, if your name in the game is Sasha, but the one you want to tame has the name Morphi’i, you will need to change your name with a name change ticket (100 amber) to Sashai’i. If you are level 95+ or have the gold crown skin on your helmet, then you can disregard needing to change your name.

Next, a trap of a 4x4x4 cube with 4 wooden Dino gates is the best way to trap it. Griffins can damage wood, but I was able to trap & tame 2 with a single of the structure aforementioned. When taming, it is important to note that if you do not have a soothing balm, it is going to take literal hours to tame the griffin. A x10 taming balm is decent, and easily obtained from a dungeon (the southern one near the center is my favored one for gathering these), but a x15 is preferable. Keep in mind even with a x15 it will still probably take 20+ minutes to tame *at best.*

For food, it only accepts prime meat, prime fish meat, either raw or cooked (but raw is better, of course), or allosaurus kibble. To get a griffin to lay eggs, you must have the female mate with a male, and griffins only mate with another griffin of the same surname. Go for a low level, always, unless you are prepared with thousands of narcotics and armed with the patience of a saint.

Once tamed, lead your griffin back home and put it in a safe space to let it passively level up. Once it’s health is at least x3 that of a normal griffin and it’s stamina is at least x2 of its original value, you’re ready to take it out on flights.

Furthermore, breeding griffins will produce better offspring, just like with all other dinos, but again, be armed with the patience of a saint. It takes many real-life days, about 2 weeks is my guess, of nonstop gameplay, for the baby to mature completely. While it is in its baby phase, it must be near its mother to feel secure enough to eat. However, once it is juvenile, it can be moved away from its mother if necessary. Hatching the egg will take at least 5 air conditioners.

TL;DR: Royal griffins are mainly trophy tames, but once trained enough, they are a cross between argentavis for firepower, and tapejaras for flight mobility, with a large aoe attack.

For taming a griff you need to be one of three things.

1 lvl 85 or above

2 have the crown skin equipped

3 have Sam last name (such as radtmir name yourself with mir at the end of it) and be at least lvl 40

When seeing these animals, make sure it respects you right before you knock it out and feed it food. if it doesn’t respect you, you can’t tame it. A tip to taming these things is to build 4-5 stone dino gates. Then, put it in a line formation with some space in between so that you can still shoot it, but it can’t escape. Then put two stone doors at the end so that there’s no way of escaping unless you open it. Once you have the trap, find a griff that you want, agro it with a mount, lead it into the trap, and close both doors. Once it’s trapped, you want to shoot darts until it knocks out. then just feed it kibble bc it takes a while to tame, and use x15 soothing balm. hope this helps!

Baby griffins grow up slow so make sure you keep them in a safe place until they can fly.

If your taming these on single player trap it and before knocking it out sleep in a sleeping bag so that when it knocks out its food stat is 0 so you can feed it easily no more waiting

I have a trick for taming an creature in 2 min including grifffin i saw lvl 300 griffin in hard in my hard difficulty world so you have to trap any creature you want to tame then do not unconscious him go and sleep and when you awake knock him and his food lvl is zero thank me later

people might tell you taming a griffin is not an easy task but i’ll

ok taming griffins :D

1st: get a stack of tranq darts/ 2 stacks of tranq arrows & about 100-150 bio toxin

2nd: build a trap with 4x gateframes and 2x gates and 2 pillars in the middle (all structures must be stone) & make sure to place it in a safe part of the map with no other big dinos

3rd: find a griffin that’s level 10-15 (or below) lure it to your trap with a pt (i highly recommend a pt as it can go through the trap and you can just close the gate when it’s in)

4th: tranq the small guy out and purchase a 15x soothing ba for 40 amber (you can watch ads) and i highly recommend you use prime meat if you have a argy you bring with if not allo kibble works as well (their torpor goes down fast)

5th: tame another of the opposite gender with

the same last name and a similar level

6th: breed the pair and make griffin kibble to tame a high lvl :D

If your on mobile don’t waste your amber on name change tickets,they don’t work

If you use a sleeping bag next to an unconscious creature in mobile the taming will fast forward but the torpor will not, this can be really helpful if you fear it’ll wake up before taming

WHY SO LONG TO TAME! Cmon like I’m gonna stare at a screen for hours on end

You should unclaim it because it will not die after 15 min. But it will become a real wild griffin and get angry on you.

then you can refresh your game if youre on singleplayer and knock it out again and tame it again, also any balms that you have used before will stay on the griffin when you unclaim it

make sure to chronicle the griffin nd revive once you have reached your satisfied level or else it will die of neglect

warning: max level is 600, it won't gain any more levels after that

note: if you refresh your game after you knock out an unclaimed griffin, it will revert to a wild griffin's stats instead of your griffins' stats

Get x3 balm and any meat it likes,

Find one that respects you that you like,

Knockout.

(Ark Mobile Tip) In order to tame a royal griffin you’ll need soothing balm x10 (It’s much easier trust me- you do not want to tame one without it). I find the easiest way to get it is by tributing the artifact of the hunter at the green obelisk after finishing the cave. Artifacts do respawn so you can tribute it multiple times to get more soothing balm.

How to tame a low lvl (1-8) griffin easy without being high lvl or having a crown. (Having god console makes thigs easier!)

You will need: 4 stone dinosaur gateways, 2 stone dinosaur gates, 200+ bio toxin, a longneck rifle with 40 darts, luck, a chefs station or a female allo, and a name with an ending if the following;

Note: Yes, a griffin can be named...Moron.🙄

Note: If you do not have a name that ended in one of these, you cannot tame a griffin without being lvl 85^, getting a crown, or getting a name change ticket.

Step 1: Gather your stuff. (If you have god console you can skip most of it and spawn it in.) (Bring 7-9 allo kibble.)

Step 2: Get a good Argy with good HP and Stamina.

Step 3: Fly to fars peak.

Step 4: Build the griffin trap. How to: Build the 4 gateways in a straight line BUT leave a small, dilo torso thick (1m) sized gap in between each gateway, and on the FIRST and LAST gateways build the gates. (If you own god console, spawn the resources in and craft them.)

Step 5: If you own god console, turn immortaility ON. Look for a low lvl griffin that respects you.

Step 6 (Optional): If you still can't find a griffin that respects you, kill some random creatures around (Ankys, sabers, etc.) It'll open more spawn slots for griffins.

Step 7: When you find a griffin that respects you, aggro it.

Step 8: Lead the low lvl griffin to your trap. Open the first gate. Walk through it with your Argy. (If you own god console, turn immortality ON.) The griffin will get stuck. Keep walking through until you're totally out. shut the back door.

Step 9: Dismount and shut the front door.

Step 10: Load your longneck with darts, and shoot the griffin with darts. If you own god console, you only need to bring one dart, and turn on infinite ammo.

Step 11: Once it's out, Feed it bio toxin to keep it unconsious. Keep it unconsious until it's hungry. If you own god console, keep spawning bio toxin and feeding it.

Step 12: Once it's hungry, use the soothing balm on it, and give it the allo kibble.

Step 13: Wait with the patience of a saint.

Step 14: WHAMMO! You have a low lvl griffin.😀

Bonus Step (FOR GOD CONSOLE OWNERS ONLY): Level up your griffin to a good level.
