A tamed Quetzal is a very good mass goods transport bird being able to carry well over 800

Carry a Skorpian with an argentavis and set to aggressive for an easy knockout.

For the quetzalcoatlus the best way that I have found to tame one is to make a quetzal chatcher and trap it to tame if you have aanother quetzal. But if you dont have one you will need to get a high level bird preferably a argentavis because it has a high weight and a slow movement so you would have high accuracy. I would also recommend you have a longneck with tranquilizer darts because that would be the most effective way to tame because it will do the most torpor. Happy taming. :)

If you already have a quetzal and want to tame another one, make a 3x3x3 structure on the back of the quetz platform you already have and leave one side open for the quetz to fly in. then fly in front of the quetz you are looking to take, and right before it fly's out of the front of your cage, hop off the quetz and it will become solid. Once it is inside, place a wall behind it on the wall you left open. It will be stuck, and you are free to tame it with no chance of anything hostile ruining your tame. Since you aren't riding the quetz, it will regen stamina in the air and you can hover until the tame is done. Once its done, just destroy the wall you put to trap it and fly straight and it will fall out and follow you. Enjoy your quetz :)

When trying to knock out a quetzal, do not try to grapple to it and shoot it because the moment it is hit with the dart or arrow, the grapple will break and you will die and most likely have your body fall through the world if you don't have a parachute on you.

Grapple an argentavis and go find a low level quetzal (faster knock out). Then dismount it and use your spyglass to whistle attack my target aiming the quetz. When you're close enough shoot it in the face as redo the process with the spyglass.

Requirements: Argentavis with about 2000 stamina with about 110 movement speed and a good amount of melee damage, Crossbow(tranq arrow)/Longneck Rifle Tranq dart), about 50 or more tranquilizers, and about 100 or more narcotics.

In order to knock out the quetzal, the best way is to find a buddy who is willing to help you out. Give the tranq gun to your friend, as he/she will be shooting. You want to get your argentavis and pick them up with the talons. Make sure you don't forget the narcotics! When you have your friend in your talons, go find the quetzal. When you find it I reccomend you land and regain stamina, but don't lose the quetzal. Once you have regained your stamina pick up your friend and proceed to knock out the quetzal. Be sure whoever is shooting to hit it in the head, or else it will take quite a while to take it down. Don't be afraid to land to regain stamina again if needed. Once the quetzal is knocked out, you need to use the narcotics and get food for him.

Build a ramp on the side of the platform saddle and park an anky on the edge of the ramp. Fly to your favorite metal node farming spot with your tribe and let them just swing away. The anky's weight doesn't affect the quetz's weight.

Knocking Out: To knock out a Quetz, best idea you can do is be carried by a Argie, people say Ptera but I prefer not since it's feet can easily be shot by the arrow, and keep on targeting the head. Remember to put speed up for Argie as the Quetz have a decent speed on their hands. You can also use another Quetz with a platform, but this is only if you do not own another one.

Knocking it out: First, you will need an argey, 2 crossbows, parachutes, tranqs, and grappling hooks. Fly up to the quetz with the argey, hop off with parachute, make sure argey is following you,grapple to it then whistle attack target on the quetz, then when you get close enough to shoot it with a tranq arrow, whistle passive then shoot, quickly whistle attack target on the quetz because it will flee far and fast. Repeat this until it is successfully knocked out.

Use a tapejara to tame, simply get a friend with tranqs to sit on the front seat and shoot it while the driver follows it.

On the center quetzels spawn at blue and red obelisks, they also spawn in jungle mid

Have one of your tribe members pick you or another person up while holding a crossbow/rifle then simple have the flyer fly over the quetzal and shoot at it till KO'ed

If your alone do the same thing except use a grappling hook and connect to your flyer of choice and whistle the flyer to attack my target while aiming at the quetzal and whistle stop all when in shooting distance of the quetzal

Why dont everyone talks about the griffin method. If u are in late game and ur quetzal died. Use a griffin to knock it out. Since griffins are fast and u can use either a longneck or crossbow to tame it. It may not sound fun but trust me. Works everytime. Hope this helps

You can use a rare flower and a birdcage trap in order to tame. Use 4 behemoth gateways and 2 gates, line them up like you would an argy trap, use the flower next to the Quetzal when it flies close to something like a mountain, or use it on the back of a flyer, and lead it into the trap just like you would an argy.

Net gun it out of sky trank it to unconscious then put meat in Inventory then wait

In ark I am in the middle of taming a pretzel lol but since a low level (no offense) can’t tame one because they don’t know how or don’t have a tapejara you should probably be a minimum of level 55 to tame one. Anyway, … what were we talking about? Oh ya, a pretzel. Anywayyyyy, you need a Three saddled Tapejara a bunch of narcotics(or any other narcotics) and a bunch of meat just in case you should probably go to the big red floating stone thing off to the bottom left beach area of the map or you can just see it from the other half of the world but fly there with your tapejara. There shou,d be Pretzels there and I would recommend getting a girl. You come close to the Pretzal WITH your tapejara try to switch seats(in the front seat) and target the pretzel then get a crossbow loaded with a tranq arrow ready and shoot it. When it is over water and you think you have shot it like 28 times wait until it gets over land and then shoot it some more. Make sure your tapejara doesn’t do that much damage to it. When it falls follow it, shove the stuff into it’s inventory, spawn your strongest tames, and tame it. My rule is NEVER LET THE UNCONSCIOUS LEVEL GET HIGHER THAN YOUR TAMING LEVEL:)

Single Player:

.Get Tapejara

.Grab Longneck with 100 tranq darts or use bow with 200 hundred tranq arrows

.Use Prime meat or kibble and soothing balm if you have one

Multiplayer:

.Have Pt with good weight and pick up your friend

.Have tranqs or darts and repeat last 2 tips on single player tips

How to tame a Quetzalcoatlus/z

1.Make Tranq darts that are more than 20 and 30

2.Repair your longneck if its trash or if it has low durability

3.Go explore with your Griffin or Argie (If you have Argie craft grappling hooks and a crossbow) Dont explore the populated areas where lots of common creatures spawn (The Quetz only spawns in Red obelisk,Redwoods,Low spawn rated places,Etc)

4.Knok The Quetz with Griffin or Argie (Grapple the Argie so you can still stay in the air then whistle your Argie to fly to the Quetz then set it to passive then shoot and repeat this process if its far from you 'till its KO'd

5. When KO'd feed it Rex kibble like about x3 or x4.If its not enough and if your almost out of Rex kibble, use a Soothing balm (It will take about atleast 5 Mins below)

6.Wait for it to be tamed
