Ok so I’ve been seeing people say that in mobile you only need to feed them fish meat

In ultimate survivors edition mobile (I don’t know if this was a glitch or not) I have to hold a fish and have fish meat in my last slot as well

If you have an Argy, fly over the otter and pick it up with the argy's beak ('C' on pc). Land the argy and let the otter hang out in its beak while you bring fish over. I found I needed to drop the fish and pick it back up to target the otter. After having done this by following around a scampering otter with a dead fish pinwheeling wildly in my hands for 10 minutes the first time, I will never ever attempt it again without my argy.

If you really want one it takes about 4 minutes to tame one and it takes about 6 fish meat ^ for more to see please do

I normally find them at the river by the green obelisks

Taming and utilizing the otter

Chapter one: location

The otter in Ark ASA the Island map can be found in the northern part of the red woods, and major river ways. The spawn points make them hard to find, and since the otters are so tiny. There is a small spot in the swamp area where they spawn but recommend not going there since there could be kapros, sacros, and deinosuchus’s (if you have the mod). Theres also a small lake in the redwood towards the west where you can find them

Chapter two: taming

There’s two ways, an easy way and more difficult way. The easy way is you want to find it and you want to have an argentavis and catch it. It will be in your argie’s mouth and you would want to catch fish, preferably sabertooth salmon, (1.5x size is the best). Kill it and drag the body to the otter and feed it. The harder way is when you find it in the water. You just wanna kill fish and drag it towards it and feed it. It’s more difficult because you could lose sight of the otter, or it could die.

Chapter 3: Utilizes

One major utility is that it could regulate your body temperature. When you pick it up on your shoulder, it gives you heat and cold resistances. This could help you with longer expeditions and the north of the island. You can get better resistance if you increase their melee damage. Another utility is that it could hold more than one artifact at a time, unlike you and any other. You can put hats on it, which makes it look even cuter than it already is. Hopes this helps!!

These otters live near streams and rivers

Otters can protect you from cold climates drastically, they eat up all your depression and aren't hard to tame at all! Just catch some Sabertooth Salmon or Piranha and bring the corpse to the otter and feed it. There you have your very own cute little otter. But remember to Bola it so it doesn't run away first. About 2 just in case. Kill one and I'll find you on multiplayer...

In ark mobile, u can tame it with raw fish meat and raw prime fish meat.

Raw Prime fish meat is better

Assuming you are on the island, Otters are mostly found around the redwoods And the main thing is along the black sands. However, they can be found in almost every river in the game.

The otter eats whole fish carcasses, not raw fish meat. You have to approach her while holding a fish corpse and press "Feed".

An extremely important points

★ After you have finished the training put it in the inventory of the otter raw fish. Many times the otter becomes tame when there is no food on it and from there the road to starvation is very short. (R.I.P miss Otter Hightower)

★Otters can run very far, so confine them before training begins. They can be picked up with any flying animal the size of a pterodon or larger.

ATTENTION MOBILE PLAYERS!!! on mobile you tame this cutie with fish MEAT. not fish CORPSES! ok?

(I’m on mobile) I just built a box without a lid (1 thatch foundation, 3 thatch walls, 1 thatch door and 1 thatch doorframe) by a lake so I could fish for fresh food to tame then I hopped on my pteranodon and I followed the river around the red woods (without the swamp) to find one of these lil guys and pick him up then took him to the box I made and put him in it. Turns out the for some reason the otter wanted COOKED fish… luckily I had some already so I just fed him that and some soothing balm and he tamed in about a minute. DO NOT READ THIS TIP THINKING ALL OTTERS EAT COOKED FISH IN MOBILE. Up if you found funny or helpful

I've found my 5 otters in two spots. The first two where the beavers spawn near the waterfall area where there's that one cave (27,48.4) on the top of the waterfall the little water area below the beavers & then the other with the beavers above. Second spot (no cords, sorry) near the blue OB where there's that big area of water with that huge weird tree in it. Hope it helps!

They move pretty fast and you can loose them easily, so I suggest making a pen to put them in. Having a Ichthynoris is quite useful to catch salmon as you don't need to be in the water fighting them, the bird will snatch it right out of the water and bring it to you.

Xbox taming an otter:

Fly argy to otter.

Push down on right stick to grab otter-WHILE YOU ARE FLYING

Land argy

Drag fish to otter whilst in Argy's beak.

When Argy dips head - feed fish to otter (Y prompt)

Repeat as necessary

Name otter 'Frank'

Tip can't hold artifact on mobile

⚠️ WARNING: YOU WILL MELT IF U SEE ONE, IT IS TOO CUTE ⚠️ Ok.. now that is out of the way, if u do survive the cuteness, this is how to tame it. I suggest you mainly look around the redwoods on the island, I have found 4 of them there. After you found one, you wanna try to wait until it is on land because it is easier that way. Next you feed it your raw fish. Prime fish works best. After a little bit of waiting you can feed it again. After a couple of fish, they should be yours!

I found one in a really dangerouse area and let me say it was worth it I love otters sadly my little bouncy died to a raptor soon after tamed I forgot we were in a dangerous area. Poor little bouncy :( she bounced at my feet it was so cute :)
