These little guys are so much easier to tame in mobile, but harder to find. You still need to kill a megipirahna, but you don’t need to grab its corpse to feed the otter. After harvesting its meat you can easily walk up to it and feed it until it’s tamed. It doesn’t run away in mobile, and I’m sure you can use any fish meat. Like so Dododex sees!
best to tame a ichthyornis and carry it with you when looking for one of these guys, put the ichthyornis on hunt and retrieve it will catch a fish and bring it back golden and will have a better taming affect to feed to otter, like this up its very important peeps must know :)))
Just push this cute lil creature in front of a giga and it'll have an existential crisis. Realising the path of destruction it left in its wake and deteriorate in front of the otters blue sparkly marble eyes
Otters can protect you from cold climates drastically, they eat up all your depression and aren't hard to tame at all! Just catch some Sabertooth Salmon or Piranha and bring the corpse to the otter and feed it. There you have your very own cute little otter. But remember to Bola it so it doesn't run away first. About 2 just in case. Kill one and I'll find you on multiplayer...
It is tamed in the same way as the Hesperornis, where you have to carry a dead fish to it. Larger fish, and those caught by Ichthyornis, apparently work better. Piranha are better than coelacanths for taming, and salmon are better than piranha.
Idk if this is a bug or what but it seems that otters tame meter does not decrease.
I was taking an otter one time on the island pve official and forgot where it went and lost sight it.
Few days later found it in around the same area with the same progress as when I had left it.
I made quick work of taming it on the 2nd encounter.
I've found my 5 otters in two spots. The first two where the beavers spawn near the waterfall area where there's that one cave (27,48.4) on the top of the waterfall the little water area below the beavers & then the other with the beavers above. Second spot (no cords, sorry) near the blue OB where there's that big area of water with that huge weird tree in it. Hope it helps!
They move pretty fast and you can loose them easily, so I suggest making a pen to put them in. Having a Ichthynoris is quite useful to catch salmon as you don't need to be in the water fighting them, the bird will snatch it right out of the water and bring it to you.
