Knock out. Eats berries. Simple tame.

My bet is its a kind of weird tame like the basilisk or troodon but instead of feeding it fertilizes eggs or your tamed you'll have to bring it your baby dinos and let it raise/steal/kill them. OR its your standard knockout, idk wild-card likes to makes things a hassles though so I'd expect some weird baggy mechanical to be implemented

Hey I have some tips for any maewing breeders/soon to be breeders.

To start off when you find one I'd recommend trying to hit with with tranquilizers And do beware they can get away Fast! But they'll never attack back And after you can just give it some raw meat or prime and Boom ya have one. Once you get 2 just start breeding them btw do get the saddle It's really cheap and it'll keep the baby from walkin off Also it act alike a thought for the baby. Raise it up and d your done! Rinse and repeat as needed!

Since they have no gender you get 2 eggs when breeding that are both half the level of what it would normally be with 1 egg

There's a comment up top that says they have a gestation period, they do not. They lay eggs and you hatch the fertilized eggs. Careful how many babies you feed on them, too many causes feeding effectiveness to go down and babies will starve to death even with a full maewing

Use a manamar and net gun on lost island for ez tame

Good for traveling and carrying youngsters (the saddle is able to carry babies) also good for nursing wyverns. I’ve got a whole mini farm of them and was able to grow dragons quickly👐🏼

Really easy tame

1. Get some Meat or Berries (It's an omnivore)

2. Get Net Projectile and Tranq darts or arrows

3. Find a high level, net it and the shoot it a bit

And wait for tame, watch out for it's torpor it doesn't drop fast but it's really low

Are they able to be bola,ed or can they not

They run away regardless the amount of shots knock them quick or you'll lose them

Don't use these guys to steel wyvern eggs. They have limited vertical capabilities and you may struggle to exit the trench. Make sure people know this

Why is there no tips about this

I don't think anyone knows how op this thing is. Its easily the fastest in the game, it can drop any rarity of egg so really good for kibble, its really easy to get wyvern eggs cos of how fast it is and it has a nursing ability so it can feed babies for free and it works on wyverns so you can get and make a wyvern adult really easily. It also eats anything so its really easy to feed it. And its really easy to knock out even at lvl 150. The only problem is it doesn’t do much damage but i think it makes up for it elsewhere.

Guide:

1. Use net on it

2. Knock it out with tranq arrow, if you want use tranq dart

3. If it gets out use bola since u can stack these

4. Try step 2 again if fails since it’s high level repeat 2 and 4 until knocked out

5. Shove the mejo berries in its a- jk it’s mouth and if you want bring SOME narcotics then do it JUST DO IT

6. And there slap a saddle on it and go for a ride by gliding and RUNNING FROM R-GIGANOTOSAURUS’

These guys can carry baby's and feeds then, cuts the timer of growth down considerably. Even a low level, 20 -50s are decent for early tames

THEY OUTEAT GIGAS when raising. Babies consume so much food. They prefer meat but can be raised on berries. I had a baby rex starve because theyd eaten all of the meat in the mother maewings inventory. Overburdern your caregiver at all times!

How to tame a maewing; 2 easy methods

1st method (the one I used):

First of all, the items you'll need are:

-6-8 wooden billboards to prevent the maewing from walking away. (Optional)

-1 large bear trap

-some berries

-bow/crossbow with tranq arrows (unless maewing is high lvl. In that case, use a longneck)

Then, you'll want to find a maewing and prepare to trap it.

The billboards are optional, you can wait for it to walk in a bear trap by itself, but it will be harder. Now, assuming you will use billboards: the AI of a wild maewing is fairly stupid, we can take advantage of this. It has a walking cycle where is walks a little, stops, walks a little, stops, over and over and over. So what you want to do is start placing billboards, beginning with one right in front of its face, right at the end of its walk, but before it stops (because it will walk out if you do it too late or too early). When it is trapped in billboards, DO NOT SHOOT IT! You might want to clear the area of creatures to make sure nothing walks in the bear trap, but you'll want to place your bear trap and wait for the maewing to step in. Then, immediately shoot it like your life depends on it. Well, actually, it'll probably only take a couple shots. Feed it berries and enjoy! If you don't use this method, it will fly away VERY fast! When I first tried to hit it with tranqs arrows, I didn't use a trap. It flew away, and I chased it for 20 minutes. I failed.

The 2nd method for maewing taming:

Items:

-4 foundations of any type

-6 doorframes of any type

-2 ramps of any type

-4 ceilings of any type

-2 walls of any type

-1 rare flower

-berries

-bow/crossbow with tranq arrows (unless maewing is high lvl. In that case, use a longneck)

How to prep:

Build a 2x2 of thatch foundations (or another type), have 3 of the sides be door frames so you can walk out, and the 4th side be walls with ramps. Eat a rare flower and make a maewing chase you, let it follow you into the trap, go out through the doors and place ceilings on top of the trap. Shoot the maewing until it falls unconscious. Feed it berries

I am not 100% sure if this method will work, but I will test it. I haven't personally used it yet
