The Obelisk
-Chapter 68-
The Five were led down a narrow trail that wound through the colorful woods, orange and gold colored branches reaching out for them. Forest took a moment to admire the strange place, then moved on.
Soon enough they approached a clearing in the forest. The air was filled with new sounds and smells, and as they entered, Forest saw a cluster of small burrows and caves dug into the hillside. Shadowmanes of many colors peeked out curiously, and a few passing juveniles called to one another as they stopped to eye the newcomers. Two Shadowmane kits tumbled off of a fallen log next to Crimson, their big eyes widening as they looked up at the Kapro. Crimson huffed at them, and they yelped and ran away.
Finally a couple of Shadowmanes spotted Nyx, calling her name happily. Nyx ran forward and greeted them, smiling.
One of the juveniles edged to Moonbeams side, whispering into her ear. He nodded in Forests direction, and Moonbeam replied softly, “I don’t know.” She inclined her head to him, padded over to Nyx and the other Shadowmanes, and Forest heard her say, “I must speak with Orbit. Where is he?”
One flicked her tail towards the largest cave. It looked like it served as a common area, by all the Shadowmanes bustling about inside. Moonbeam thanked and gestured for Nyx and the others to follow.
It was a circular, vast cave with a few dens inside of it, accompanied by the familiar scent of fresh kill and water. Another pair of kits ran by, laughing, as they play-fought one another roughly. A female Shadowmane exited a small cave in the corner, letting out a roar to the kits. They perked their heads up and scurried her way.
Moonbeam took a turn and headed for one of the dens. “Orbit!” she shouted, stepping inside.
A Shadowmane the same size as Moonbeam came into view from the cave. His face lit up. “Nyx!” he cried. “You’re alright! Where—"
“They’re not here,” Moonbeam stated flatly. “It’s just her.”
“What—”
“We need to talk.” Said Moonbeam. “Inside.”
They did, and Nyx explained everything to the two Shadowmanes; the Terror birds and the Ruins, the prisons, the escape, and everything in between.
And at the end of it all, Nyx said, “that’s pretty much it,” and took a second to scratch her frill with one talon.
Orbit sat down slowly, his expression unreadable. Moonbeam paced back and forth next to him, her tail twitching.
Forest wondered if this was the Orbit Nyx had mentioned. He had black scales with hints of violet and navy, along with several nebulas of green and blue around his back, torso and tail. He looked about seven years old, not even nearly as old as Blazeheart or Bramble.
Moonbeam stepped forward and glowered at Nyx. “You could have gotten yourself in serious trouble, Nyx.”
Nyx’s eyes dropped to the ground. “I know.”
“Helping these carnivores was the last thing you should of—"
“I had to help them!” Nyx burst out. “They were in trouble. The Terror birds were coming for them, and I couldn’t let that happen.”
Orbit rubbed his face blearily, letting out a sigh. “I’ll send a patrol to Runhiemr to fetch Blazeheart and the others. He needs to know you’re safe and back in camp.”
“No, Orbit,” Moonbeam said, padding over to stand beside him. “We cant risk drawing any attention to ourselves. If the Terror birds suspect anything… the whole camp could be put in more danger than ever. They cannot find out that the Five are here.” She brushed her tail against Orbit’s. “We’ve lost one home already.”
Orbit glanced back at her tail on his, then to her. He nodded slowly in understanding.
“Blazeheart will find out they have escaped soon enough,” Moonbeam continued. “and with that, they’ll be coming back before you know it.”
Orbit pulled himself to his feet before shaking himself from head to tail. “I’m glad your back,” he said to Nyx.
She smiled. “Me too.”
Forest noticed that Moonbeam had turned to him and his friends. “Must say, you lot have caught the attention of the whole camp, now, haven’t you?” she said with a small smile. “Guess they’re gonna need some explanations.”
Orbit trotted over to the opening of the cave. “Let’s go tell em’, then.”
My friend left the base with my maewing and I told him not to kill it, he came back a few minutes later and when he did I thanked home for keeping him alive. I think he took that as a challenge and left the base yet again to kill my maewing. I played it off but a few minutes later I got the notification that it had died. I was pretty angry so I left the game.
When I got back on later it was still alive… I asked my friend about it and turns out he tamed a dilo and named it parachute (the same as my maewing) and got it killed making it look like my maewing died. Moral of the story, check the whole kill quote. It may not be what you think it is
As I was under water, looking for silica pearls, one of these guys kept swimming around me. I never had one before, so I thought "What the heck. I'll tame him." He turned out to be my favorite tame ever. He can glide across an entire map in a couple minutes and is by far the fastest creature out there. He is awesome.

Today I lost more than you could ever know
So, I thought it would be a good idea for me to practice the controls for the maewing, because I am not good at controlling maewings. So, I took my maewing named Mittens, and took off. I flew close to my base, accidentally landed and Mittens did the ground slide thing. Mittens slided into my wyvern Venom, and glitched through the ground. I survived this, but Mittens didn't make it. Later, I made a gravestone on my Yard that says: Mittens, our loves maewing we didn't get to keep for long. Mittens was my first ever maewing. Goodbye Mittens😭

Chapter nine: Not a king.
“It is well with my soul. It is well. With my soul. It is well. With my soul. It is well. It is well it is well with my soul.” A woman’s voice echoed through Jack’s head and he sat up, breathing heavily. Jack shook with sadness that suddenly came crashing down on him. He inhaled deeply, trying to breath steadily. Where was he? Jack panicking for a second, checked to see if his medallion was still there. It was. “Oh thank goodness.” Jack muttered. He and his siblings had promised to keep their medallions on forever and Jack intended to do so. His chest was healed. Where was he? Just then a door in the corner of the room opened and someone entered. The woman who he saw before he blacked out. Along side her two large black and white striped sabertooth tigers walked. She smiled shyly at him. She was wearing a dark maroon dress now. “Hi. Are you feeling better?” She asked. Jack nodded slowly. “Yes. What happened? Where am I? And who are you? And…why are there to two tigers beside you?” Jack blurted out. The woman laughed. “So many questions. I’m Cyra. You are at the Dark phoenix kingdom. I found you injured and me and my brother Cyrus brought you here. This two tigers are my pets. The girl is Sabine and the boy is Saber. They’re pretty gentle…to me.” Cyra informed him. One of the tigers, Saber looked at Jack and ran his long tongue over his fangs. Jack gulped. “If you don’t mind me asking you, your majesty, what is you’re name?” Cyra asked. Jack blinked. “Your majesty? I’m no king. I’m Ja-ck,Jack, just Jack.” Jack said. Cyra gave him a pitying look. “Ok…” The door in the corner of the room opened and a man with dark blonde slicked back greasy hair and dark green eyes walked in. He shot Jack a distrustful look. “This is my brother Cyrus. Cyrus this is Jack.” Cyra told her brother. Cyrus nodded and studied Jack silently, with narrowed eyes. “Cyrus, would you mind getting Nora and Wil-I mean the king and queen?” Cyra asked. Cyrus left the room quickly. When he came back he was followed by Nora and William. Jack began to panic and kicked the blanket off him and jumped from the bed. A sudden wave of dizziness overcame him but he managed to stumble away from Cyra, Cyrus, and the “king and queen”. He leaned against the window. “Where are you going?” William asked. Jack swallowed, trying not to vomit. “I’m- le-leaving. Y’all are-are all-all-all l-lunatics.” Jack said. Nora and William exchanged looks. “You can’t go. You’re in danger if you’re not in you kingdom… your highness.” Cyra said. Jack swallowed hard. “I’m not-not- not a -k-k-k-k-king.” Jack sputtered. Nora cast a worried look at him. “He can’t go. He’s injured and won’t survive long on his own. He hasn’t recovered completely. Get him. Gently. ” Nora said. A slow smile leaked on to Cyrus’ face. “With pleasure.” Jack rammed his elbow into the window as hard as he could, he felt weak, and it shattered. He tried to jump out but Cyrus grabbed him from behind. Jack struggled as hard as he could, stomping, kicking, screaming but Cyrus didn’t budge. “Leave-me-me-me alone!!!!!S-so-so- what if I-I d-die?! I d-deserve it-it it-it!! It’s all my-my my f-fault their gone!” Jack screamed. Cyrus didn’t let him go. Jack screamed until his voice grew hoarse. Then Jack was too weak to resist anymore so he hung his head tiredly. “You need to calm down, young man.” William told Jack. Jack tried to respond but a lump was in his throat. Jack swallowed but it was to late. His chest heaved hard and he vomited on Cyrus. Cyrus immediately released Jack. “Ugh!” Cyrus exclaimed angrily. (Cyrus is a very cleanly person) Jack collapsed to the floor and threw up even more. It was like burning acid. Black clouds began to surround his vision. “Let-let-me-me g-go.”Jack moaned in pain. “Help him!” Someone cried. “L-l-l-l-leave me- me-me-me alone.” Jack groaned. “It’s okay. We have you.” Someone said. Jack blinked and stared at the floor, tears began to drip from his face. Josephina and Jaquin’s terrified little faces flashed in his face. If only he had been hit by the bomb. Not them. He didn’t deserve to be alive. “Let-let-let- let me-go-go-go.” Jack whimpered. “It’s all my-my-my-my f-f-f-f-ault their g-g-gone. All my f-fault. Let me-me-me die.” And then Jack’s head hit the cold floor and he blacked out again.
