Chapter twenty four: Jay.

Hailey and Willow searched upstairs. “I don’t see them.” Hailey said. Willow rolled her eyes. “You think I’d don’t know that?! They’re not up here! We need to go back downstairs.” Willow said. Hailey watched as a man appeared behind Willow and then a woman. The targets. “Look out! Behind you!” Hailey cried. Willow smirked. “Riggghht. This is an obvious plot to make me turn around and see nothing and you laugh at me. There’s nothing there.” Willow said. “Actually there is.” Sylvia said. Willow whirled around to see fist hit the side of her head before she was knocked unconscious. “Willow! What did you do to her?” Hailey screamed. “Don’t worry she’s just unconscious.” Sylvia said in a gentle tone, as if she was talking to a child. Hailey ran to the door. It was locked. “Jaron! Jaron! Jaron!” Hailey called. Jay approached her slowly. “Is Jaquin here? Is he alive?” Jay asked. “I don’t know what you are talking about. Who are you two?” Hailey replied. “Tom must have mind wiped her.” Sylvia whispered in Jay’s ear. Hailey banged even harder on the door. “Jaron!” She shouted. “Josephina. It’s me, Jay! Your brother.” The male target said. “I only have one brother. Jaron.” Hailey said. “I don’t know who y’all are.”

“Jaquin? He’s alive to? Don’t you remember? We lived in Tortuga.” Jay asked desperately. Hailey shook her head. “Josephina it’s me Jay.” Jay begged. He began to move closer to Hailey until he was inches away from her. “What are you doing-” Hailey began but then Jay pressed his hand on her forehead. His hand turned burning hot and old memories came crashing down on Hailey.

Hailey was sitting in a man’s lap. “Aww but Daddy can you sing for me daddy! Puhleeeaasse?” She begged. “Fine but only for you little bit.” The man sighed. “Gotta hold on easy as I let you go. Gonna tell you how much I love you though you think you already know. I remember i thought you looked like an angel, wrapped in pink so soft and warm. You’ve had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born. You’re beautiful baby from the outside in, chase your dreams but always know the road that’ll lead you home again. Go on take on this whole world but to me you’ll always be…my little girl.” The scene flashed. “Can i ride Jay? Pretty pretty please? A little boy who looked suspiciously like a younger version of Jaron. “In a minute.” A boy said who looked familiar. Jay. Hailey suddenly knew his name. *flash* More memories came that Hailey remembered. Her name was Josephina. She had an older sister, two older brothers, and a twin brother. She had parents. *flash* A woman has a rope around her neck bug she seems calm and peaceful. “When peace like a river attendth my ways, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot thou has taught me to say: it is well, it is well with my soul. Hailey fell to the ground, her body shaking with sobs. “Josephina? Are you okay?” Jay asked. He touched her gently on the back. “I-i remember. I remember ev-everything.” Josephina sobbed. Jay hugged her tightly. “We have to free Jaquin.” Jay said after he released her. Just then the window shattered and Camille flew in, the rest of the team behind her.
