They drop cementing paste which is used for lots of things.

Basically just murder them for your own survival. Their purpose is just to be murdered for xp and oil. I recommend killing the quickly so you don’t feel bad.

U can't tame this weird water filled giant firefly

0 points   🥚 Taming & KO   Apr 13, 2023   Report

To start off these guys are forcetame only.

1 they eat berries when tamed

2 they will still produce water/oil after being tamed

3 they can be leveled and become op, and yes if they are a high enough level you can tease your friend become he died from a passive bug

4 can be put in green house for a ascetic kind of feel

I noticed no one mentioned instead of forcetame you can summon a wild one into an already built building and it will be a trapped wild water or oil jug bug. You won't have to feed it and can constantly harvest water or oil. Whichever one you summon!

Still testing it out, but it looks like you can get extra oil by killing an oil jug bug (red abdomen), taking the oil from its inventory, THEN toggling “Collect Oil.” Works at least on the Switch :)

You can force/dotame them and put them in your greenhouse for a nice (aestetic) effect.

Does it do anything? No, but they're pretty cute, but I wish it could be tamed normally.

If you want one without cheats you have to catch/trap it in a building, best to have two doors incase it tries to run away!

Thirst is the reason from scorched earth why I kill every oil jug bug. The water ones are safe though

0 points   ⚔️ Encountering   Feb 10, 2023   Report

They are indeed on fjordur. Balheimer.

0 points   ⚔️ Encountering   Feb 10, 2023   Report

0 points   🔧 Utility   Jan 15, 2023   Report

YOU can trap it,(oil jar bug)and have lost of oil.(Scortch Earth).up pls

0 points   🥚 Taming & KO   Jan 13, 2023   Report

I don’t think you can tame these or what they eat, but you go into creative and forcetame one. It’s funny. Like a flying morrelatops that’s a fly that’s small.

0 points   ⚔️ Encountering   Aug 13, 2022   Report

Is it just me or has anyone else seen water jug bugs on Fjordur I thought that only oil ones spawned on Fjordur.

0 points   ⚔️ Encountering   Aug 9, 2022   Report

When I was still a noob on scorched, I was dying left right and centre- I got enough for a thatch foundation, placed it, died. Another thatch foundation, placed it died. You get the idea. Now, once I had my hut I also had enough xp to get a spear, so I did and I hunted a water jug bug, but dragged it into my house and shut the door. I examined it, and saw that I could drink water from it. I survived! I built up my hut more, and when that one ran out, I harvested the corpse and brought another dead one inside. I survived like this until finally I tamed a Morrellatops, and we hiked back and forth from a nearby lake I discovered while chasing my new friend. That is how I survived- use these guys, they’re lifesavers. Literally.

Also, just me or when I’m low level mainly oil ones spawn but when I’m high level only water ones spawn??? Maybe they just hate me

the water jug bugs can be life savers. the oil jug bugs, i’m pretty sure the United States wants to acquire them for reasons

0 points   ⚔️ Encountering   May 9, 2022   Report

• blue= water

• red= oil

• can drink if ded or alive

• you can make it pee water in ur mouth

One of the weakest yet most valuable thing you’ll come across whilst exploring Scorched earth. Look for ones with a blue abdomen if in search of water and red ones if advanced and searching for oil. Usually found everywhere except up in the mountains were most of the dangerous carnivores live. Quite common to find throughout Scorched earth but easily startled if accessed.

I've only read about them but they seem like a decent sniper target/ oil/water farming bug.

0 points   🔧 Utility   Mar 6, 2022   Report

While in the wild, go to the desert, find one, after, press Y on it and get close before and drink water or get oil, works while killed
