Taming a hawk

So while I was taming a hawk, I ran into a allo killing a diplodocus. I took the allo's kill and the hawk went to feed on it. But I forgot if they take damage, they restart their taming process. I went to another group of hawks and I was attacked by 5 micro raptors. I died once to a high level trike which knocked me off a cliff. After a while, I killed a phiomia and a terror bird after killing pachy’s. Finally tamed it! Taming one is annoying, but the outcome is great!
