The Obelisk
-Chapter 43-
As the voices approached, Nyx gasped. “They’re coming!”
“We need to go now,” Spark said.
“This way!” Nyx shouted. She ran for the forest, her tail whipping behind her. “Come on!”
“There!” Shouted a voice from inside the Ruins. The first Terror bird stuck his head through the hole, his eyes wide. “General! They’re getting away!”
Wide-eyed, Forest turned tail and ran after the others as the Terror bird squeezed through the hole, screeching in protest.
The five carnivores ran and ran, when suddenly the general pounced from the side, leaping for Rust with her claws outstretched.
“No!” Forest roared. He jumped forward to help—when suddenly another creature pounced from behind them.
It was the Thylacoleo from before—the burly one who stood up to the Terror birds. He llanded briskly on top of the General with a yell, digging his claws into her sides.
She roared her agony and bit at his tail, and he yanked her off of Rust with brute strength. “Run!” He yelled to the Five, struggling to hold her down. “Get out of here!”
A few moments later they were dodging through the trees and branches, as fast as they could. Soon they heart talons thumping swiftly behind them, and Forest didn’t have to turn to see to know it was the Terror birds, once again after them.
The general had escaped the Thylacoleo and was roaring loudly, calling any soldiers nearby. Next thing he knew, several Terror birds were chasing them from all sides.
“They’re getting closer!” Nyx cried, panting.
No, no, no, no, please, we can’t get caught.
The general was at Forest tail now, snapping wildly. They were fast.
Instincts took over as the General plucked out one of his tail feathers. He yelped and rolled over, collapsing on top of her.
“Forest, no!” Spark snarled.
The general snarled and slashed at his face, leaving three gruesome claw marks trailing acrossed his snout. He cried out and leapt off of her, but three Terror birds had grabbed his arms and legs with their wings and beaks, pulling him back. “Guys!” He yelled. “Help! Help me!”
The others had stopped to fight, but both Rust, Crimsom, and Nyx had been pinned down. Spark was still fighting, but slowly being overpowered by all the soldiers. She roared her anger out, but slowly they brought her down to the forest floor, and she grunted angrily.
“Let us go!” Nyx yelled. “My fathers a chief, you know! He’ll be make you pay for this! YOU CAN DO THIS!” Her roar was angry, but her expression screamed fear.
“Really?” The general asked, stepping forward. “Daughter of Blazeheart?”
“Yes!” Nyx said frantically. “He’s the leader of the Shadowmanes and is super awesome!”
“We’ll see about that, young one.” The general hissed. “Take them.”
Crimson roared, struggling under the weight of six Terror birds. She smacked one in the face with her tail, causing him to falter, but before she could fight anymore, one reached back their foot and kicked her in the head.
“Crimson!” Forest yelled.
Crimsons eyes rolled into the back of her head, and she suddenly went limp.
“Crimson!”
“Let’s go!” The general roared. “Hurry up!”
One after the other, the Terror birds conked their talons over the heads of Spark, Rust, and Nyx. They all fell unconscious.
“Stop,” Forest said as one stepped forward to him. “Please.”
“Sorry, buddy,” he said.

Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 17
Now, on the other side of the cage, Ferra looked up. She watched as the human pulled on the argents reigns, signaling for it to release the red ravager. The ravager fell down into the cage next to Ferra’s with a thump, causing Ferra to jump.
As she stood and listened, she could hear the sounds of barking and hissing. Ferra assumed the noises were coming from the thyla and direwolf. She could also hear the faint squawking of the white argent she had seen earlier. While she listened to the sounds around her, she heard the faintest clacking of nails, or claws. She assumed the ravager in the cage next to her was pacing or something like that.
Ferra carefully once again approached the door. Instead of turning her head so she could see outside, she put her nose up to the space. She sniffed, mentally sorting through the new scents. She picked up the smell of sand, which was something she had smelt very little off. Something also had the smell of trees and sap. She squeaked in surprise at the smell of the last scent. The last thing smelled of dirt and the wet darkness of a cave, but she also smelt something else, the smell of something she considered valuable. “Element” she whispered to herself. The smell of element wasn’t exactly unusual to smell, in fact, she smelled it constantly. Her makeshift necklace that wrapped around a single shard of element of course always smelled like element. The smell that her piece element gives off has mixed with her own scent, causing her to not really be able to smell it. Although, she could always smell it when there was a new scent of element as almost every piece smelled different to her.
She breathed in the familiar scent of element, then looked up at the colorful streaks. Purples, pinks, and blues on the orange sunset sky. The last of the sun's rays shining in the darkening sky. I’ll learn more about the new creatures tomorrow, She thought to herself.
She awoke to the sound of barking and growling. The moon shone above her head, almost full. “Will you shut up?! I’m trying to sleep!” She yelled, unsure of whom she was directing it to.
Suddenly, an apologetic male voice replied “oh! I'm so sorry, please forgive me! I didn’t know there was anyone else here” why is he talking like that? She wondered. A screech of annoyance sounded from further away, “Renegade!” A female voice hissed. Is that the thyla from earlier? I think the weird speaking male voice is the ravager.
“Apologies Lynx! There’s someone else here in the cage next to me!” The voice she figured was Renegade replied. “What is it? Who is it” the thyla hissed suspiciously, probably wondering if Ferra could be trusted.
Ferra crept up to the door on the right side of the cage. She squinted through the gap. The ravager could be seen clearly. Unlike Ferra’s cage, the ravager’s cage had large gaps in between the walls. Although, the gaps were too small for the ravager to fit through. The gaps were there so that the humans could go in and out of the cage easily, as well as view the specimen inside clearly.
The ravager turned to face Ferra’s cage, although it didn’t notice Ferra looking through the small gap. “May I know your name?” He asked politely. “You want to know my name?” Ferra laughed rudely, wondering how someone could be so calm and polite towards a stranger they just met after being captured.
The ravager nodded. Then paused, realizing she couldn’t see him, or at least, not as far as he knew. “Yes, of course that's if you don’t mind.” He answered after a moment. Ferra squinted at him judgingly, deciding what to do. “Only if you tell me your name” she demanded, expecting him to wait till after she said her name.
“Renegade” he grunted unexpectedly. She went quiet for a moment, letting herself think. “Ferra” she replied blankly. “That’s a beautiful name!” He paused, “I am so very sorry if this sounds rude, but may I ask you what species you are?” He asked nervously.
She rolled her eyes. He’ll have no idea what I am. We don’t have ravagers here, I only know what he is because of my dream. I doubt he’s ever even heard of a ferox. She thought for a moment. I guess it won’t do any harm to tell him.
“I’m a ferox,” she declared proudly. “I’m so sorry, but what exactly is a ferox?” He asked. She nearly laughed at his response. She had expected him to either ask what a ferox was, or politely nod and pretend he did. The polite-fancy way he talked annoyed her, but also humored her. “I’m a small fluffy thyla looking thing with big ears and four arms, but that doesn’t mean I can’t easily snap your neck”
Renegade looked surprised at her explanation. He shivered, then went back to normal. “Perhaps I’ll be able to see what you look like at some point. Till then, me and my friends will try our best to converse quieter so you may sleep in peace.” He promised. She grunted in response, knowing she had no intention of sleeping now.

Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 27
Racheal turned to look at Dark. “You don’t have to come with me,” She told him. Dark blinked then rubbed his head affectionately against her face. She had tried to release him back into the wild before, but he had refused to leave her. Racheal sighed, secretly relieved that he wouldn’t be leaving her. Although she knew it was wrong to think that.
She looked past Dark and at the small wood cabin she had managed to build. He watched as she walked into the cabin. She left the door open, Dark watched her intently. Racheal walked up to the only bookshelf she had and grabbed several books. She then proceeded to walk out of the cabin and up to Dark. Dark stood still as she carefully placed the books into the saddle bags that hung from either side of his saddle. After loading all the books into the saddle bags, she quickly ran back inside and grabbed a couple more things. Racheal walked up to Dark who patiently awaited her. “Ready to go bud?” She asked before easily mounting his saddle.
For a moment, she remembered the horse riding lessons she had been taking, before she ended up here. If it weren’t for those lessons, riding dinosaurs probably would have been a lot harder. She gently kicked Dark’s side and he sped off. Towering above everything, up in the sky you could see the green obelisk. She steered Dark in that direction, with full knowledge of which paths were the safest and which were not.
They slowed to a stop as they reached the terminal under the green obelisk. Haroh waited there with only a handful of men and several bigger dinos.
There was an obvious tension between them, and she was concerned as to why. “What’s going on Haroh?” She asked as Dark strode closer to him. Haroh looked up from cleaning his sword. “We’re going to slay a beast today malady” he told her. She looked at him skeptically, “We were going to travel to a new ark today” She reminded him. “There’s been a change of plans,” he replied simply. “You know how it works, all the strongest beasts must be slain before we are permitted travel.” He explained. Racheal was slightly irritated “You told me they’d all been killed” Haroh put his sword away and walked up to her and Dark. He stroked the side of Darks neck. Dark flinched away and growled softly, only Racheal heard it. Haroh shrugged, “I figured you’d like the chance to witness such a glorious event” he replied.
Racheal huffed, she didn’t want to watch them kill anything. From what she’d researched, these apex predators probably just lie around waiting for some idiot humans to wander in and be their next meal.
She looked around and noticed Haroh’s men watching her intently. Haroh looked up at her expectantly. They’re not going to let me leave, she determined. For some reason Haroh was always desperate to impress her. “Fine” she sighed.
She moved Dark over away from the terminal and carefully dismounted. As she began to walk away, she heard Dark squawk from behind, she turned to look at him. He tilted his head with what looked like a concerned expression. “I’ll be back in a little bit” she called back to him. She continued walking toward the terminal.
“Got any spare armor?” She asked as she approached Haroh. He looked her up and down for a moment. He probably thought she should be in a pretty dress instead of some clunky metal armor. He waved his hand and one of his men walked up. Racheal made no effort to learn their names, her business was not with them. She also couldn’t tell them apart when they were dressed head to toe in flak. The man handed her a full set of flak armor, minus the helmet. She didn’t like helmets anyway. She quickly put the armor on. She could see most of Haroh’s men making an effort to look away, although Haroh himself didn’t seem to care.
Once she had the armor on, she asked Haroh for a mount “May I borrow one of your mounts? I wouldn’t want to be left defenseless” she found that she tended to get more out of Haroh when she acted helpless. Haroh began to open his mouth, probably to say something along the lines of ‘Don’t worry, you’ll have me to protect you’ but he seemed to think better of it and whistled over one of the yutys. “You May ride my personal steed” he said as the yuty stopped beside him.
She walked over to the yuty and patted its side. Underneath its thick fur, she could feel its strong bulky muscles. It made sense that this one was the one Haroh had selected to ride into battle. With just a glance around the area, she could tell this one was the strongest and most confident of all of them. A wave of sadness hit her, she felt bad for the animal. It had been bred and raised to kill, and if it failed to do so, it would be killed. It knew nothing but that.
Some of Haroh’s men walked up, probably to help her mount the yuty. She huffed and grabbed onto the yutys fur. It only took her a moment to heave herself onto the saddle.

This is not a true story, imagine someone new to ark who knows nothing about this game and tames a few dinos .
They then go walking through the woods somewhere on some map with the ferox and find one they then attempt to tame it thinking it's much like a jerboa they already tamed , then it. Brutally kills them .

Sorry guys, but i have just announced that DT is canceled :(
I'm sorry everyone. Check the silver dye section for more info.
It will be continued for a little while though.
It was dark when he realized he couldn't sleep. He was ashamed of himself.
He couldn't save Rick. He couldn't save sergeant. He couldn't save...Eden.
He needed to find them before they were gone forever like he was.
Jerry climbed out of his tent and heard something. He'd heard that noise before, on the island. He panicked, hearing the noise approaching. "Raptors" he said quietly.
He knew he needed to wake the others.
He ran off to their tents and shook them awake. "What!?" Ares snapped.
"Shhhh" jerry said, putting a finger to his lips. "Raptors are coming."
Ares grabbed a bow and handed Jerry and Henry spears. A Raptor screeched as it poked out of the bushes slowly. It saw them.
Ares spun around just in time to catch the second one with an arrow to the head.
"They're smart" jerry thought. The Raptor rolled around and stopped after the second arrow hit its neck, draining the life from its eyes as it weakly hissed one last time.
At least five came from the darkness and approached them. "Go" Ares told them.
"But-" jerry started.
"JUST GO!" Ares yelled, grabbing something, scribbling on it and throwing it towards him. Jerry caught it with ease and looked at it. A paper tied to a small rock. "RUN!" Ares screamed as the Raptors closed in. Jerry looked behind him to see Henry running for his life. "Coward." He thought. "I'm not leaving you!" He yelled. Ares turned to him.
"I know you want to be the hero, but there's on way out of this one. Go...save Rick."
Jerry ran and regretted it deeply.
He turned to see his friend one last time.
He watched Ares valiantly shot them until there were no arrows left to shoot.
Then Jerry turned his head and bolted towards Henry.

Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 18
Renegade turned to face the other side of his cage, and walked over to the gap in the wall. “Well?” Demanded the thyla. Ferra strained her ears to attempt to listen to the conversation. “She said her name is Ferra, and she’s a…ferox. You wouldn’t happen to know what that is, would you?” He replied quietly. The thyla looked at him with a puzzled expression. “Nope. No clue. What does she look like?” Asked the thyla. “I don’t know. She briefly explained it to me, but it wasn’t a very detailed description. There are no gaps in the walls of her cage.” He explained.
The thyla paced back and forth in her cage, going in and out of his view as she passed the gaps in her cage. “Was she here when we got here?” The thyla asked, not stopping. “I believe so” he confirmed.
The thyla stopped pacing and sat down where Renegade could see her. She said nothing, she just sat there in silence. She seemed to be thinking, a determined expression on her face. There was no noise, except for the occasional scuffling, or the wing picking up and howling into their ears.
“Stop talking and think of a way out of here you useless sacks of meat, ask the stupid thing if it knows a way out! Do something other than sit there!” A rough voice growled from behind the thyla, having to speak loudly in order to be heard. Renegade simply nodded in response. He didn’t understand why Rorin was so rude, but he was tired and couldn’t bring himself to say anything. The thyla turned around and hissed, “Calm down Rorin!” Renegade, once again, just nodded in agreement. He twitched as he realized that Rorin most definitely could probably not see him, and Lynx currently had her back to him. Lynx once again faced Renegade. “Could you ask?” She requested. Renegade shook his head. “Perhaps in the morning. She’s currently sleeping” Lynx sighed, “alright” Rorin grunted from behind her.
Ferra snorted in agitation and backed away from the door. She couldn’t hear what they were saying, so she may as well attempt to sleep.
She opened her eyes and found herself in a human base. Deep in her stomach, she could feel her fear blister and burn inside her, but her curiosity was like an unbearable itch that seemed to override that fear.
Humans walked up and down the hallway. They would hurry past without noticing her. Surely anyone would notice a ferox in their midst. She looked around, her gaze passing over human, after human, over a dark haired female. She gasped and took a step back, only to jump forward as another human walked past behind her. She watched the familiar female, time seemed to slow as she did.
She closed her eyes as she gently lifted her muzzle into the air and took a deep breath, taking in all the scents, drowning out the already deafened noise. She choked and coughed at the element smell mixed with rot and decay. She traced the smell back to a faint purple glow coming from under the skin on the back of the female human's neck.
Her ears twitched at the mumbling that emanated from the glowing part of the female's neck, and the air around her. “Carry on with your little project” it rumbled “it will keep you busy while I string the element into the weak, while I figure out how to get into those who will resist the call of the element.” The voice continued to speak as time seemed to go back to normal and the female walked a way, the voice fading into nothing.
She was only given a moment to think before her ears flattened at the growing whispers that had haunted her in so many dreams. The whispers grew louder and louder around her, it was impossible to tell what the hushed voices were saying. She only knew what the whispers intended for her to know. They hissed a warning to her, although she didn’t know what they were saying. She let a wave of calmness wash over her and she closed her eyes. The whispers still growing louder, closing in, towering over her like long shadows.
She gently lifted herself up from her sleeping position. her head was down, facing the ground, her lone ears sat draped over the sides of her fight. She breathed heavily, her heart rate increased. Her tail curled around her as she settled herself into a sitting position. She allowed her ears to stand up straight like usual. The dreams don’t mean anything. Dreams are just dreams. Ferra sat and thought for a minute. But maybe it does mean something. Ferra smiled and growled at herself, “now I’m just being stupid”
She listened to the ravager speak softly to the other caged creatures. Ferra didn’t think this place was too bad, or at least, that’s what she had thought before the arrival of her new caged neighbors. She would much prefer, especially now, to be out hunting, taking a walk, or even just feeling the soft cold snow under her feet, she missed Fenic as well. She didn’t want to stay here anymore.
Hope you guys enjoyed this one!

Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 2
Ferra gathered sticks, then some flint. One by one, she picked up sticks. She held a small bundle in one of her small hands, and flint with another. Ferra picked up a few more sticks and walked home, her makeshift necklace thumping against her chest. Ferra set her sticks up to where they looked like a small cone. Ferra started a fire. Most animals couldn’t start a fire, but Ferra could. Ferra had come across fire when she was meeting with her friend, Fenic.
They were at their usual meeting place when some human came by, pointing at them. The human wasn’t exactly pointing at them, it couldn’t see them, due to the snow and their white fluffy fur, but her and Fenic wondered. What were they pointing at? “James! Will you listen to me for once? This is a perfect place to make a base!” Called the human. Fenic and Ferra stared in horror. “Run!” Yelled Fenic as they spotted another human riding a purple and pink t-rex. Fenic and Ferra had run, but then, they watched for a while. The humans had gathered some wood, and then used some flint to light a fire. Fenic and Ferra tried to do what the humans did. After a few tries, they created fire. Fenic and Ferra had then found a new meeting place and went their separate ways, at least until the next time they were supposed to meet.
Ferra watched as the fire twisted and turned. Popped and crackled. She squinted at the fire. She could see a thyla, almost the color of Flames, it seemed as if he was looking for something, someone. Ferra blinked and there was nothing more. It must have been a trick of the flames. Ferra sat, and thought the thoughts she usually did.

Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 30
She squinted at the ravager for a moment. Renegade, her mind muttered.
The memories came back to her in an instant. With that, came a sharp pain in her shoulder. She growled at the arrow that protruded from her shoulder. One quick movement, and she had ripped the now bloody arrow out of her shoulder. Blood trickled from the wound it had made. She breathed. Humans were so stupid. Believing a mere spiked stick could hurt her.
Renegade continued to bark at her. She resumed paying him no mind. The arrow rested in her hand. She debated what to do with it. A fanged smirk reached her face as she looked down at the arrow, before hurling it straight toward a human. The arrow burned through the human's weak flesh. It fell over, its blood staining the white snow.
Ferra looked around. The fight continued. She stared at the female human with the glasses. The one whose voice she had hard in her head. Said human, was surrounded by others, each carrying a spear that faced outward. She was something to be protected according to these humans.
Renegade yelped, Ferra ran toward Racheal. The humans attempted to stab Ferra with their metal spears. She easily tossed them out of her way. A few other humans began to yell at this. Ferra took no notice of them. Ferra leapt toward Racheal, shifting to her smaller from midair. Racheal turned her head toward Ferra, but did not have enough time to react. She watched, a slight fear in her eyes, as the ferox came toward her.
Ferra grasped for Racheal’s shoulder and scrambled up before she could be thrown off. Without hesitation, Ferra grabbed at the base of Racheal’s neck. Ferra’s claws dug into the delicate human flesh, she ripped out the purple glowing piece of element that had been lodged into Racheal’s neck.
Racheal froze. A gasp caught in her throat. Shock pulsed through her body. Racheal felt reality slip from her grasp as she began to collapse.
Despite the fact that she was falling with the Racheal, Ferra sighed in relief. Everything felt like it was in slow motion. That feeling left her as she felt something hit Racheal, or maybe it she had been hit? She wasn’t sure. The last thing Ferra remembered was the sound of something being ripped- flesh maybe? And the feel of her scruff being grabbed.
Racheal looked around. She didn’t have her glasses on, yet she could see everything clearly, but despite that, she had no idea where she was. Everything seemed to have a bluish hue to it, and she was floating in some kind of void. Pieces of…what looked like metal floated around her. The whole thing kinda reminded her of a computer.
“Hello!” A friendly sounding voice chirped. “Not sure what happened-“ a little robot zoomed into her line of sight. “-Lost track of you for a little bit I suppose. Not quite sure how that happened. No matter! Dying seemed to do the trick! Because look! I found you again!” Although not having a face, or a mouth, and only seeming to have one eye, or something like one in the center of it, the robot looked like it was smiling. “I guess that’s the wonderful thing about the Genesis Simulation. You can die over and over again and always come back!” It explained.
Racheal was confused, and had many questions. “…Simulation?” Racheal ,she managed to choke out. The robot looked…confused? “I thought you knew…?” The robot paused. “The Genesis Simulation is what you’re in right now!” Racheal continued to stare confusedly at it “The Genesis simulation? Why- Why am I in it?” The robot continued to look cheerful, at least up until Racheal asked that question. “I- I don’t know” it replied. That was very reassuring Racheal thought.
“What are you? And- What was that you said about me dying?” Racheal prodded, steering away from the topic of why Racheal was in the simulation. The robot went back to being cheerful “I’m HLN-A, and it is my job to assist you throughout the Genesis Simulation. You are also currently dead” It answered excitedly. Racheal was even more confused now. “Well how do I…come back to life?” The words felt childish in her mouth, but they were the best for describing her situation. “Well that’s the easy part!” HLN-A responded.
Ferra’s eyes blinked open. She quickly noticed that she was in a small nest-like pit in the snow. The snow was thick enough here to do that, wherever here was. She laid there for a moment, before deciding to lift her head up so she could look around. Renegade was sleeping closest to her, also in his own little snow nest. On Ferra’s other side, although further away, was a dark mass, barely visible in the darkness of the night. She assumed it was Rorin. Further in front of her, was what she originally thought was a lump of snow. The gold feathers were the only thing that made her think otherwise.
Till next time!

Hey Spirit Dragon, read the 2 chapters thus far and they're good so far! Just remember to keep into account the main conflict of your story (the problem) and the antagonist thats causing it (a character, a natural disaster, or a force of nature). As it is an ARK story, you should also try to figure out which one you will put it on. This will help determine possible future settings and the geography. U can also come up with your own fictional custom ark / world. Make sure to come up with a title too. It will attract more readers and will make it easier for them to find your chapters. Also, since chapters and episodes are the same thing, omit one or the other. If I'm correct, you're using Chapter as a Book. one final thing, there is a Dododex Stories website which you can use to view tips on real time. Whenever you get this, you'll know. That's all, good luck with your story.

Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 3
She remembered waking up. She hadn’t known where she was, yet, she knew who she was, and possibly, what she was. Her name was Ferra, she believed she was a ferox, but wasn’t completely sure, and somehow, she knew all the instincts for living in the wild. She knew all these instincts, but she couldn’t remember any of her memories. Her life before now, it was as if it never existed.
Ferra shook her head. Thinking about it would only confuse her. The sun was starting to set now. A beam of sunlight hit her necklace. Her spare piece of necklace. Ferra had found some rope at an abandoned human base, so she kept it. Ferra used the rope to make a necklace, she had found some element and tied it to the rope, I’m case she ever needed it. Ferra yawned and stretched her arms. How many more days was it till she was supposed to meet Fenic? Two was it? Yes, it was. Ferra shoveled some snow onto the fire to put it out, then went to her little hole in the ground to sleep.
Ferra found herself in the redwoods, once again, she had no idea how she knew what that was. She looked around. Ferra saw a flash, she quickly turned. It was the flame colored thyla from before, but it was...younger. She chased the thyla, but it was chasing someone else. The thyla was chasing a similar looking female thyla, its pelt a similar color, but not as orange. The flame colored thyla leaped off a tree, knocking the female one out of the tree. The two of them fell to the ground, it sounded painful, but they didn't seem to be affected. Ferra ran up to them to see if they were okay. As Ferra neared them she felt herself fading. Is this a dream? She wondered.

Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 8
“of course it’s okay!” Fenic walked over to the middle of the cave and laid down, Ferra laid down next to him. They looked up at the ceiling, one of the only parts of the cave that isn’t filled with element. Ferra blinked. She nor Fenic were talking, she may as well take a nap. Ferra listened to the element whisper and hum, it lulled her to sleep just within a few minutes. Fenic noticed Ferra’s even breathing and sat up. He saw that Ferra was asleep, he smiled, and walked away.
She felt more element here, so much more than in the cave. She was…in a cave, a big cave, much bigger than the one she was used to. She knew there were a lot of element here, but she couldn’t hear it, she couldn’t even feel it, it’s as if it wasn’t there, yet she knew it was. A howl broke the silence, she slowly climbed up the hill looking for the source. There were redwood trees here, everywhere. Now atop the hill, she walked past the trees and towards where she thought the howl came from. Here, there were five weird looking creatures. The creatures had almost no hair, big teeth, feet, claws and ears, but they were no bigger than dire wolves, perhaps a bit smaller. Ravagers, a voice whispered in her head.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, I’m back with another chapter!
Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 23
“Fine!” Lynx growled “Let’s hope we won’t need someone who can fly anytime soon” Ferra huffed, ignoring the rest of the pointless argument. She looked up at the humans. Many humans had gathered, and now there were lots of them. Some of the humans held weapons, some just stood their empty handed, and others whistled for tames from somewhere further away.
One human in particular shoved through the crowd. Ferra eyed this new human. She gasped, realizing it was the dark haired female. “Stop!” The female human yelled. Ferra couldn’t tell if the human was talking to the other humans or them. The few humans that held weapons, lowered them. Ferra relaxed a little as they pointed their spears, pikes, and crossbows toward the ground.
“What’s…what’s going on?!” The female asked, looking in their direction. Ferra shivered for a moment. It’s like she’s talking to us- wait. Her voice… Ferra jumped back. “R…that’s R!” Lynx swung her head around “What did you just say?!” Lynx looked angry. Ferra nodded toward the female “She’s R, she’s the voice!” Lynx walked up to Ferra. “What do you mean she’s the voice?! You told us we could trust it!” Lynx growled. Ferra resisted the urge to roll her eyes, or shrink away from Lynx “I’m sorry, alright?! I didn’t know it was a human that could understand us!”
Ferra tore her gaze away from Lynx and toward R. R looked, slightly upset. “You can trust me, I promise” R forced a smile. Lynx opened her mouth to speak but Renegade stepped forward. “I trust you” He flashed a friendly smile. How? How can he be so polite?! And calm! I…I’m terrified. “I trust you, seeing as you stopped your friends from hurting us, but you must let us go. We do not belong here”
Ferra thought she heard R scoff at the mention of friends. She shook her head “I’m sorry” R looked sad “I know you don’t belong here, but all I want is to learn about you, learn about the creatures that inhabit this place. I just want to keep you for a little longer, please.” Lynx gently shoved Renegade to the side. “No” Lynx growled.
Ferra stepped back. She growled as her vision began to blur. She thought she could see the others preparing to fight, but she wasn’t sure. Ferra shook her head, but the world seemed to fade away.
Ferra laid curled up in a ball. She felt safe where she was, on the edge of the large sleep circle. She didn’t know what she felt safe from, all she could remember was feeling scared, but now she felt relieved by the feeling of her brother's warm fluffy bodies curled up against her back.
Ferra stood and looked over the sleep circle. Almost everyone in the colony was in this sleep circle. There were only about one or two small sleep circles of four or five in the area. She sat and curled her tail around herself.
Ferra thought about yesterday. “Ferra used to be so sweet” the old female ferox, Madea, had commented. Erens, an old male ferox, snorted. “This morning she brought me a mangled compy!” He complained. Skadd, the oldest ferox in the colony, stiffly approached his companions. “There are always a few like that every generation. They’re selfish and full of themselves. They think they’d be better off without the colony and prefer to avoid responsibility.” He growled. Ferra had shivered from within the bush she was hidden in. She had been playing hide and seek with her brothers, and overheard the elders talking poorly about her.
Ferra scoffed, she knew she wasn’t always the nicest, and could have a little bit of a temper sometimes, but she didn’t think she was that bad. She didn’t avoid responsibility either. Usually she’d spend all day hunting, she wanted the colony to have enough food for everyone. She also thought it was rather rude for Erens to have complained about the compy, it wasn’t the best catch, but she had heard that he hadn’t eaten and wanted to get him something. That compy was the best thing she could find at the time.
The elders weren’t the only ones to talk about her this way, she had heard others talk rudely about her as well. Sometimes she would even walk by and see her parents telling their friends about how grumpy she was. She didn’t understand, they acted as if she was awful, but they had never directly told her anything like that. Although, she tried her best.
She tried her best to make her parents and the colony proud. She spent half the day hunting, then spent another good portion of the day helping the weaker members of the colony. When the sun was almost completely hidden by the horizon, she would lay down and rest, only to have someone complain about her not being helpful. Ferra just tried her best to be polite and not rude, which she found very hard.

Ferra’s Dream
Chapter 21
Ferra laughed again, “yeah. You can trust it…mostly” she assured with a hint of edginess. There’s something going on here. Something only Ferra and the thyla seem to know. Dr. R thought.
Dr. R looked up at the thyla, “Thyla, Could I know your name?” She asked. The thylas tail twitched irritably, “Lynx” the thyla muttered. She then looked down at the screen with the ravager. “May I know your name ravager?” Dr. R asked. “Renegade. pleasure to meet you” he replied politely.
Ever since she was little, Dr. R had wanted to be able to communicate with animals. She believed they could learn more about them this way. Dr. R had never thought she’d accomplish something even more incredible, gaining the ability to speak to prehistoric animals.
“The pleasure-“ Dr. R paused and smiled “Is all mine” Lastly, she looked over to the screen with the black direwolf. “Can I know your name as well, direwolf?” There was no response to her question. Dr. R sighed, perhaps there was something wrong with the device. The direwolf must not be able to hear her or something.
“Don’t pay too much attention to the grumpy direwolf” Ferra chirped “He doesn’t like talking to disembodied voices” Dr. R laughed at Ferra’s remark. Dr. R didn’t need the direwolf’s name anyway, she already knew it. Rorin growled at Ferra in response.
Dr. R happily chatted with the animals for about an hour. She felt so eager to learn about them. Although, she had avoided asking certain questions, like about how Renegade got here, or why Lynx, Renegade, Rorin, and the argent had all been together.
As she finished saying her farewells, she pulled the earpiece out of her ear. She turned to look at the last of the scientists that were gathered behind her. When she had first gotten here, several scientists had clustered around her to see the fruits of their labor. After a while, they wandered off to continue their work.
“We’ll be back here at the same time tomorrow.” She told them “make sure to bring more paper this time for documentation. We’re going to be working with the argent as well tomorrow.”
Sorry, this one was a bit shorter,
