The Baryonyx stood above them, eyeing them hungrily. Obviously he didnโt know anything about beavers.
I clamped my jaws onto his leg, and so did my father. We began pulling and pulling, as the Baryonyx screeched. We cast him into the water, and a cloud of red ascended to the surface as the piranhas ate him up.
โIs there anywhere here thatโs safe?โ I asked.
โWe have to keep moving.โ My mother answered.
Eventually we made it to an old abandoned road. A scout flew overhead. Not safe. There wasnโt anywhere safe.
We beavers are hardy, but this was too much. Cornelius, the oldest of us, collapsed. Before we could save him, a raptor pack was upon him.
Quetzals flew overhead. The sun kept beating down on us.
In the evening, we made it to a memorial. We fell instantly asleep, into a void of nightmares of never finding a real home.
