What is a velonasaur used for? velonasaur battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
Petition to be able to feed this thing narcotics and temporarily have tranq needles
Screw the giga. This is the most OP creature in the game. Pump all levels into stamina, damage, and health. They will literally kill everything in their path. I also recommend putting them on a quetzal. Boom. You get a legit badass fighter jet with infinite ammo.
Their ranged attack is bonkers, I went from worrying about every nearby predator, to gunning down everything I don't like.
They burn through Stam fast in turret mode, but they can run forever.
We won't know for certain if their melee damage increases their needle damage until the dev kit releases, or until someone shows conclusive video proof.
Tame one of these and have a blast.

Don't have tame following you that's bigger then your velonsaur the needles hit the tame instead of the target.
Slightly shorter than a carno and a effective single target needle ranged attack and a aoe melee range attack this dino will be a must tame as a mobile turret.
It's a breedable auto turret. What more needs to be said?
It's Quill shots will temporarily ground flyers for a few seconds. Might be good for using for trapping or taming... Or just killing annoying flyers.
These guys are super OP everywhere, but especially Aberration. I was transferring over creatures from my extinction map to Aberration and wanted to bring my Velonasaur, Machine Gun. Only level 96 at the time, not as high level as my other creatures. I went out on this guy in the fertile forest and just slaughtered everything. Three ravagers, all around level 80-100 attacked, but they were no match for Machine Gun. Moral of the story is, get one of these. They are incredibly powerful! And super common in the Desert Dome
Living turret that walks and bites
Upgrading melee damage increases projectile damage
If you want to have them as a turret dont max damage this wouldnt increase proyectile damage in TURRET MODE only increases when you are riding it
Breed about 8-10 of these bad boys and you can solo an element node/orbital supply drop fairly easily. Just do not attempt one unless they are 120 or higher. You can do the easiest ones with lower, Like 100-, but do not go over like, medium, and make sure to imprint them all, it helps. (They love cuddles. If they request kibble that you donβt have, Cryo them and throw them out again, they will most likely want a cuddle again.)
The needle attack blocks turret bullets until stamina runs out. Possible new soakers?
{first defense scenario}
Scenario: the allos are the first to come in, and are already buffed with the energized buff from the yuty. There are 30 of them, and the tek turrets and velonasaurs are hard at work mowing them down. By the time they reach the titano, there are only ten left, separated into two packs of five. The allos are taken down within seconds, but the titano has been equipt with the bleeding effect. This slows it down, allowing the daedons and yuty to catch up. They are hardly able to do anything about being brought down by the turrets, but they now have your new coordinates and the quetz dropships are near. 30 seconds later, the quetz dropships arrive and they turn out to be escorted by tek saddles taps. They are easily killed, but you are bombed by the quetzβs dodobombs. This clears out the top part of your base, and deals massive damage to the titano. The quetz are eventually taken out by the tropeos and drakes, but you have heavy casualties. Up for more of these!

This thing is OP. I have killed 20 corrupted wyverns, 2 corrupted gigas, 12 enraged Rex, and 6 reaper Kongβs with him.β
If u need 2 do lava cave suggest having a velo supper effective against it and u dont need rockets 2 kill boss
Carry two velos with a karkinos and you now have a soaker with turrets
U can carry with crabs......I think you can put two and two together
I killed a giga with 5 high levels they are easy to tame and good for breeding
A Velonasaur with high melee and a lot of grapples is the by far best way to run the lava cave. Will only take you like 10 minutes.
