From my experience the higher level ones are always in the lower safer area of the desert dome near the desert titan cave entrance watch out though there are rumble golems and mantis there, in the cave.no special way to tame them and no technique just move towards one with a cactus broth on and some flak Armour if its a high level . Then just shoot out with tranq arrows just make sure you stay in melee range or else it my shoot at you and if it does you will die.

I never use traps so this was an easy tame.. Just get above it an use shocking tranqs.

Use a tall creature with high hp

I recommend riding a stegosaurus with high hp and turn it sideways towards the velonasaur you are trying to tame. This way, the velonasuar can’t hit you and yet you could still fire tranqs safely.

If you have a yuti you can scare it and it will not even attack you so just tranq it and ez KO.

Shoot while on a cliff so needles hit rocks and not you. Guerrilla style

Its an easy solo tame. Just stand infront of it with an tanky dino, jump off and go stand behind the velonasaur and shoot it with tranq arrows. When its almost knocked down it will try to walk away, just continue shooting it with tranq arrows and you have yourself a new velonasaur :)

When going to tame a velonosaur just bring a dunk with decent health and let it tank the attack’s. Also try to get it to run away while in turret mode then it’s super slow and easy to hit

On a high health griffon, land beside it and shoot it in the face. After its knocked out kill carnos, allos, and stegos in the area for prime of you dont have kibble. Around 1h prime tame for a lvl 150.

Freeze with owl, trap with doors/pillars, take cover and tranq it.

A good way to solo tame these is to find a cliff or hillside where it can’t climb up. If you hide behind a rock or back up on the cliff when it starts turret mode, it won’t be able to hit you and you can shoot it.

It has a 5-hour baby stage. So should be a 2 day raise.

In my opinion THE dino that deal the highest DPS in the game. DO NOT knock it out at long range! It will die so quickly without having the chance to react. Bring a big dinos that the Velonasaur will not attack it. The Velonasaur will not use his long range attack in melee range. Let your tame tank the melee attack of the Velonasaur a just tranq him out.

Easy knockout tame takes meat, good dps but low health be carful of his shoot attack

I thing this tame you need to run side of this tame.Maybe it easy with this way

Taming these now can be annoying but if you have a yutyrannus use it to scare the Velonasaur and once scared chase it while shooting it with thanks, before the scare affect is gone go back to you Yuty, wait like 30 seconds then repeat the same process until it’s knocked out then starve it for a while and feed it meat, or prime meat. Worked easily for me. Hope this helped.
