They only do around 10-20 damage per quill so if you have a tank mount (even an iguanodon with lots of health) you can let it Afro to it and let the mount tank as you tranq it. Very easy and you can tame it as soon as you get it’s saddle. Get up close and personal with it.

These should be your first tame since there saddle is unlocked at level 27 in extinction also they can shoot faster then an automatic turret also I've just read this they can block turret bullets so I hope they can damage tek turrets with there needles or out gun all turrets.

Just get a harpoon gun with a net projectile.

Net it and then shoot it with your friend ( if you're on a tribe ) , a few shots from an ascended long neck rifle from the. Two of you

Will down it in a few seconds.

Note : bring a metal shield Incase if you have a primitive rifle, shoot it once it gets up

Tank the needles with the metal shield wait for 10 secs thenn net again

If you wanna quick and easy knock out without being shot use shocking tranq darts for me a high level velonosaur is 1 hit k.o it's easy knock out with the shocking tranqs.

Build a wall or two (any works) to run behind as a sheld. Step out from behind to shoot taking pop shots at it. We’ve used windows to shoot through, but remember, a window works both ways. :)

Velonasaurs live in the desert bio-some on extinction, and are OP they can take down a Rex 150 breaded before it even attacks you!(I tried), and are breedable! This thing is over powered! They shoot spikes out of their heads!

BEWARE OF THE PROJECTILES

The easiest way to tame it is to run up to it with a net gun and then start to knock it out. The net will stop it from moving and fiering.

They don't take that much darts to knock them out when you have a decent long neck

These guys are a must tame for pvp servers they shoots shards of there frill out at anything and if your aim is good you can kill anything even a corrupted giga with 10 more as well

This Velonasaur is way to OP like a machine gun on legs with a big range and never misses a shot

Pair these with a plat quetzal and you have an amazing aerial fighter. Why not use auto turrets well because if you hit one once or twice with an RPG it will get destroyed and the velonasaur if pumped in health can’t by the way if you do use this only pump health pumping damage won’t effect the damage the needles from the velonasaur will do and since you will be taking out outher aerial threats or some ground threats you won’t need to pump health another good thing about this is that you don’t need to use up any more bullets on you quetzal. Also you can pick up a velonasaur if you can’t fit anymore on the platform which will be effective against ground targets and more aerial targets trying to get to the more week spot of the quetzal so highly recommend I’ll be doing a lot more of these tactics on other creatures as well so see you on the next tip ;) - A.L.N.A

If you sneak up on it (ghillie suit , cactus brooth ) and get up close it won't start fireing so just shoot it with darts entill it's knocked out also if your planning to do this on higher levels you might want more health so use mind wipe tonic if you think you need more health. p.s it hits you instead of shooting you when you get really close.

Before you knock out the Velonasaur be careful of its spikes it will shoot them and they are DEADLY. (I learned the hard way)

If your playing with a friend you can tame it if your friend walks up to it with a wooden shield an you shoot it with just a bow you’ll knock it out

Best incubation heat for eggs is 30 to get full boost. -Same guy who did the tips for Rock Drake

If you have good armor, just run up to its face and tranq, cause it can't use needles point blank. If you don't have the best armor, run up behind, shoot its butt, and then it'll go into turret mode and you just run up close and it'll stay in turret mode but can't hit you.

Use large bear traps to tame them because they cant shoot you while trapped and you dont need many shots to knock them down. For example you need two large bear traps for a lvl 5.

When tameing if you have a flyer that can pick use a 4by4 with door frames all a round then pick the velo up and drop it in box and use a crossbow or whatever preferred to knock it out-and then go to snow zone to find a Ovis pick. Then wait 10min then kill the ovis and then put the raw mutton in it.

This thing is O.P. Use "C" for single target mode. When you are surrounded by many dinos, just trust me, hold right mouse button that will take care of everything. Best idea would be go with stamina and meele.
