Velonasaur's have three attacks as far as I'm concerned. Bite, spike tail whip, thorn machine gun. They can jump and sprint but not while aiming to shoot thorns. Hope this helps people Just starting to tame new creatures!

High level pack of atleast 5 of these are enough to take down any Dino.

Walk up to it, it’ll go into turret mode, then crouch and go under it and start knocking it out (they don’t have a lot of torpor). If it goes out of turret mode walk away a little bit until they go back into it and do the same thing.

Very dangerous but worth taming

This thing is O.P. Use "C" for single target mode. When you are surrounded by many dinos, just trust me, hold right mouse button that will take care of everything. Best idea would be go with stamina and meele.

Of you look at the baryonyx and the velanosuar breeding page, it does not say the temperature the eggs prefers to hatch in. I was hatching my Bary egg and it was too cold at 76 degrees Fahrenheit so it put down 5 torches and lit up three and it was hatching. So it takes a little hot temperatures to hatch.

Use large bear traps to tame them because they cant shoot you while trapped and you dont need many shots to knock them down. For example you need two large bear traps for a lvl 5.

All I find on Gen2 is the normal varrient I’v only seen one r-Velonasaur

This dino is the key to all the blueprints that you really want. Uncryo one of these bad boys on the ledge in the Lava Golem fight and there will be nothing he can do about it.

Potentially the best dino I've used in caves. Spam the stamina and use turret mode in caves, takes out centipedes and spiders easily.

Do a baby, up it full Stam and damag, go Manti ore arena, kill the golem easywin

Velonasaurs are a perfect first tame for any freshly wiped PVP server, as it allows you to run lava cave with relative ease and start of the wipe with some good blueprints.

Temp for the egg incubator is 30 degrees Celsius.

Use a trike or Stego as a shield so you don't get killed by it's deadly nadder spine shot or pick it up with a karkinos for ez tame

Little late but... if you build a 1x1 (3 walls 1 door) then add a doorframe ontop of each wall and a ceiling ontop of that you have a reverse taming pen! Stand inside and agrro it and wait for it to be able to be shot through the doorframes. It cant shoot you but you can shoot its head. Easy tsme!

They shadow nerfed velonasaurs last update. They were doing 20 damage unridden now they do 12.

Ah, the Velonasaur is a mighty thing to behold. Equipped with a face full of quills, and a tail with quills also, it can shoot them out of its tail in a circular motion. The Velonasaur can also become what most say a “Living assault rifle”. Their normal claw swipe deals moderate damage, and they are quite speedy. The turret mode burns through stamina, and consumes food at a moderate pace. If you want the quills to deal more damage, upgrade melee damage! One last thing, the quills bypass the rock elementals armor, dealing the same damage as a normal creature! Thus concludes my knowledge on the Velonasaur—— DubXshrimp

I clapped a magmasaurs cheeks with one of these they're op as hell.

Ranged attack will grounds flyers after a few shots.

Use the thrash ability against large creatures such as rock elementals and the turret ability against smaller creatures. I would only recommend using the claw ability as a last resort.
