Careful when taming, this beast is a sniper. Make sure you have cover before attempting to get this thing down. It doesn't take much tranqs. However, you can be easily be shot to death. Once you get out of its melee range, he will lean forward and melt you out with his "laser". He isn't the best in any particular aspect, Just a regular tame, like a combat parasaur. If you still decide to get one, careful when going in water! This is NOT an ocean guy. In my opinion, he could be used on some sort of base protecting, but he will 100% get shreded by anything bigger than a carno. Also, It is terribly slow. Although its stamina is crazy high, the laser beam drains a lot of it. About its saddle, it is very cheap, unlockable at 47, I think. Good luck, and remember: don't get close, get cover and have some tranqs on you!
More Velonasaur Taming & KO Tips
You don’t need to trap this to tame, it’s a solo tame. If you run up to it, it will go into turret mode then you need to walk circles around it and keep hitting with tranq until it eventually tries to walk away *in turret mode so really slow walking*

Make a wall with a window frame (stone or metal) and start shooting at it with tranqs if it come near just keep your cool

About a couple weeks ago, I was so lucky I was fooled into thinking a Velonasaur disregarded a shooter when mounting an Allosaur. Just now, I thought about how a Stegosaurus protects it's rider from arrows, and then shot at the Velonasaur between the plates in Hardened mode. I got very little damage comparatively, and knocked it out in relative peace. Stegos are the key, my packmates.
Make a 2x2 cage with ramps and a door. Lure the velonasaur in with a flyer. If you stay close to him he won’t enter turret mode. Leveling melee raises his projectile hit points. Also level stamina to attack longer. A high level can shred everything I’ve come across. Can’t wait for an imprinted one for the speed bonus.
I am the person who said how to tame it first and second player but now I know that ally you have to do to tame is to lead it underwater and it cant use its attacks
