These guys can shoot their spikey scales at you when tamed

If you encounter a thorny dragon at a low level, either run back into your house or go in between two rocks. You can easily dodge the torpor projectiles.

It's a simple KO tame, the Thorny Dragon will shoot its needles at you in all directions, the needles deal damage and will make your torpidity go up.

They're commonly are in a group of 2 so you have to kill one or knock both.

Traps are not needed if your fast enough or on a cliff next to the dragon(s).

Boomerang + Regular Kibble

I think these guys shouldn’t have rapidly decreasing food.

If you ever come into contact with one get to a cliff where its easier to avoid its tail spike attack that can inflict torpour.

This cute little dragon with 2k health, 1.2k stamina, 200% speed and 400% save me too many times, I love it!!

If you’re in a terrain where you can have the high ground you’ll only need an argy.

1: Lore them closer to the rock/cliff you’re standing on and set your argy to passive.

2: Start firing tranqs until they’re knocked out.(their spikes don’t do much damage or torpor so it’s okay if you get hit a few times).

3: use the Argy to kill large creatures and gather prime meat/or use kibble if you have it.

4: Pick up your new Thorny Dragon with the Argy and fly it back to your base.

I just got it to follow me, netted it and used tranq darts to knock it out. It went out pretty fast but took quite a few minutes to tame.

A weird and maybe good strategy I found was to make a simple wooden pen out of three walls and one window wall, alternative is to use a ramp. Tranq the adorable little demon and feed it whatever you have that’s good for taming, you have a living tranq now.

Use tranq arrows on the thorny, I keep accidentally killing them with a boomerang and slingshot

They are pretty easy to kill, just 3-5 hits in the head with a spear, works with a level 20-30.

Took more mutton than dododex states and food needs to go down more than it states too

I knocked one out by just circling around a big tree and shooting its tail with narc arrows

Pretty easy knockout tame. Got a level 8 down with a few tranq arrows(with a regular bow) and just fed raw meat

These creatures are dangerous me and my friend died multiple times just trying to walk away from it.

Ride a fast animal get tranqs shoot it and run then Repeat

It takes more cooked mutton than it is stated here. I placed 40 in the inv of 120 and it was not enough.

If u r looking to breed make sure u r close to the Egg as it changes in temperature from beign too cold to going back to incubating. So this is a Dino you can't take ur eyes of the egg

When taking avoid spines they are deadly
