They usually spawn at the redwoods but I got lucky and tamed one right outside my house which is at a river/plains

These guys can be hard to tame because they run away from you when you get anywhere near it and may not even be able to tranq it before it runs off. So the best way to tame one is to get it stuck on something and tranq it or chain bola it

This dino is a really good flyer and u should get one at lvl 55. one choice to take it is by using a gillie suit and crouch close enough for bola range. Second is eating a rare flower then bola :)

Can hang onto any full sized tree if you go close enough to the tree

This is one way to solo tame a quetzal but there is another way with the argy

Taps are easy to tame but the pain in doing this is if u get to close they will get scared and they ARE VERY FAST.And once u scared one it will take FOREVER for them to land so the only choice u have is charge at it with a bola.DONT.MISS.But besides being a scaredy bird.They are nice tames bola and tranc.Easy.They also latch on to trees and rocks.Aleo in passenger mode (on the tapes saddle) u can use weapons on it.

These guys are inherently shy and will fly away if you get too close for their comfort, which is their primary reaction for fear of entering a fight. However, this can be combatted in two ways: The first is to equip ghillie armor and bring a bola. You can get even closer to them using ghillie armor than other armors, so get close enough to be able to successfully hit them with the bola. But don’t get too close or you’ll still scare them regardless of the ghillie armor anyway. If ghillie armor is not available to you at the moment for some reason, then when a Tapejara lands, charge at it with your bola swinging until your hugging it’s wing. When it gets scared and flinches, immediately throw the bola and then knock it out. Feed it whatever meat you have after this for a while and it will start to trust you and eventually it will even love you enough so-as to be fully tamed.

Get it stuck in a raft and you will easily be able to tame it

Go to extinction into the city area. Bola the Tapejara. Place stone gates around five or four stone gates with gateways with just small gaps in between the gate. You place this down fast. You can tranq it or club it.

Fly really high in the air and then if you have a tribemate and a flyer grapple hook to the flyer and then bola it just make sure you shoot it at least once while its in the air so just in case the bola breaks you dont need to shoot it that much so it knocks also level speed weight and health for a nice speedy flyer with good weight and if you get attacked you wont die unless its like turrets if your on a pvp server or pvx and in the pvp area

Genesis doesnt let you fly these when you tame them. I have one and it says that flying mount disabled and theres nothing in settings or anywhere to fix this.

Warning they get higher the more you scare them, I learned the hard way

Make sure you put defense around it I didn't the first time and a silo killed it right before it got tamed

Was on the center map today and found a level 106 tapejara and jumped off of argentavis quick and when she reared up bolaed her and tranqed her

Shes now a level 112 with 500 movement speed

So i dont know if this only happens to me but i would say that they are most common around the green obelisk. I’ve seen up to 5 at a time at the green obelisk.

Use rare flowers to kite it into a trap.

Lure dis dude in forest and get him trapped so you can tranq him
