What is a tapejara used for? tapejara battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
This guy is the only way to solo tame a quetzal, get in the passenger seat and whistle it to the quetz, tranq the quetz and then whistle passive. Repeat and you got a quetzal.
This Dino is my favorite on the island for various reasons. First, it can hold 2 passengers, a pilot, and carry another. Second, it is the most maneuverable flyer out there. It can fly sideways, backwards, and can land on vertical surfaces (cliffs, redwoods.) Third, it has a tek saddle, so you can have four dubs on that thing (tek saddle, 2 passengers, and one carried person.)
Description:
Wild:
Tapejara imperator holds a dear place in the hearts of many survivors here on the island and for good reason. However, natural instincts make it best viewed from afar when wild.
This isn’t because Tapejara imperator poses any threat to survivors when wild, but is extremely shy and distrustful towards them when wild while appearing oblivious to most animals until the moment of attack. It makes a different call and flinches far faster than it’s somewhat more-common Pteranodon ancestors when spooked. I can’t tell what Tapejara imperator‘s phobia of humans is a result of. However, Tapejara imperator is wise enough to know that the sky is always the safest place to be.
Domesticated
Taming Tapejara imperator often times is always a trust-building excercise, as if you treat it with care, it should come to love you once it wakes up. Many value it’s versatility to love it back in return. It does have decent self-defense skills, but rarely uses them in the wild.

you don’t need to upgrade it’s stamina, if you are in the air and it’s stamina is low, just get in the back seat and wait for it’s stamina to recover, no need to land, if you don’t whistle it to follow, it will land automatically. I hope this helps :)
The tapeJara is bird that is able to land on the side of redwood trees grest for hiding or raiding tree platforms.
You don’t have to land for stamina! Just exit the driver seat and go to to the back seats!
I love these majestic Dorito heads so much, I, the very rider of the great ‘Bruce Wayne’ (my fallen Carno) have at least five of them for two reasons: their odd characteristics and to mass transport obsidian quickly. Their outstanding speed/weight ratio makes them my personal favorite areal pack mules. And they are literal tree-huggers if you’re in the redwoods.
I LOVE the tapujaras! And also I think they are better than pteradons.(probably gonna get ALOT od hate on what I just said) But its because 1.they can atatch on trees to get their Stamina! Meanwhile your SAFE! BUT the pteradons to get stamina you need to go on the ground where it's dangerous. 2. TAPUJARAS HAVE 2 SEATS AND FROM EACH ONE OF THEM YPU CAN SHOOT (perfect for giga taming,or wyvern egg stealing. BUT THE PTERADON HAS ONLY ONE SEAT AND YOU CANT SOOT FROM IT. 3. ALSO TAPUJARAS HAVE MORE STAMINA THAN PTERADONS AND STAMINA IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR FLYERS. THE ONLY REASON PTERADONS CAN BE BETTER THAN TAPUJARAS IS THEIR MELEE DAMAGE,SPEED AND SPRINT. BUT TAPUJRARS HAVE BETTER HEALTH AND STAMINA. BUT STILL I THINK TAPUJARAS ARE BETTER THAN PTERADONS. ^ DO THAT IF TOU AGREE
WHEN YOU TAME THIS COOL DINO HAVE YOU SADDLE READY SO YOU CAN ZOOOOOOOOOM OUT OF WHERE EVER YOU TAMED OR RAPTORS AN OR COMPYS WILL KILL YOUR TAME!!!!!!
damn this guy is one of the way to tame a quetzal and whats more? this guy can attach to trees and u can shoot crosbows and al while attaching, this might be useful to fight off alphas or any other predators
The beginning of your mastery of flyers. Bola sniping, indefinite whislte airborne, pretty much all the flyer mechanics start with thus guy.
I see all of the tips go to other seat for stam but how I play pc there is no way for me yet I think how about on consle
Not only can it attach to the side of trees and some structures, it can attach itself upside down on ceilings. Fly it up to ceiling and hit spacebar. It might take a few tries to find the timing.
This is my FAVORITE flying Dino, it has the best mobility, it’s quite fast, it can gain stamina without need to land into dangerous places (it can rest in trees or in a cliff), and it has 3 places to mount! (One rider and 2 passengers), I LOVE these dudes
It is used to solo tame Quetzals. Sit on the front seat and whistle it to attack the Quetzal. Then, when the Tapejara reaches the Quetz, whistle passive and shoot it. Then repeat.
Interesting bird. It can hold three people: driver and two passengers. The two passengers face opposite directions (front and back) and can shoot ranged weapons. It can land on the side but of a cliff or even on ceilings. While perched on the side of a cliff, the Tapejara will recover stamina, but much slower than normal. It can also strafe, which can be useful for centering a shot for your passengers.
Speed: This is bird is real slow. Argys are faster.
Pickup: Similar pickup ability to the Pteranodon.
Weight: Very good weight. We use it in our metal runs until we get an Argy.
Combat: Nothing special. Maybe similar to a Pteranodon.
Stamina: Good. You can be up in the air a long time, but travel similar distances to a Pteranodon before landing due to speed.
This bird makes taming creatures easier since you can easily fire on the target with a passenger. You can avoid taming boxes for many tames.

It can land on any vertical structure and you can use weapons whilst on it. I haven’t got mine yet but if I do I’ll name it Ikaro.
I once found a helpful glitch with the Tapejara. I was solo taming a quetzal, when I discovered that if you change to a passenger seat and reload your gun, the Tapejara’s stamina automatically refills. I know it works on mobile with the Tapejara, but I don’t know if it works on other editions or on other dinos.
Great for placing walls on a tall base especially if your building a metal one
