My process for taking these bois requires:

Ghillie armor

Bolas (2-3)

Tranqs/ tranq arrows

A tent!

Food

Find your boi and sneak up on them. Afterwards, bola it and place a tent over it. This will make them stuck. I then shoot the tranqs around the head and BAMM! You got yourself a nice boi. I didn’t even need to use a flying tame to catch mine.

They are the best for taming other

These things are a bit hard to tame. They’re skittish and rare but I have had my best luck in the southern isles, north west of herbivore island, watch out for Sarcos though

The original kamikaze. Strap it in c4 and have your tribe mate sit in with you. Equip tribe mate with detonator and fly the tape into a base. Then have your tribe mate detonate the bird once within range. You will die but it will be in glory...

Most people don't actually know BUT you can get a tapejara to latch onto Trees (Mature redwoods and other big trees i think, Maybe cliffs too idk) to do this on Mobile you have to swipe up/down and for PC(Space) and console (A/X), hope this helps

I've never tamed a tapejara b4 unless when I learned the tranq dart. I'm such a noob

If you are looking for one on The Island, go to the little island on the bottom left hand corner. I found both a female and male and I have seen about five others.

I'm on extinction and I made a base in ???? I shall not tell but one good lvl got stuck IN my base T.T it was a pain to fly out i don't know how it even got in

These things are great for stealing wyvern/dienonychus eggs because of their ability to hang on walls,they can just sit on the wall until you can reach a Egg.

How to raise a good a Tapejara

1. You will need the following: Gillie armor, bola, tranq dart ( tranq arrows don’t work trust me)

2. Even with the Gillie suit if you get too close they will Argo and fly away so have your bola ready

3. Do head shot with tranq dart(actually nvm tranq arrows should work if you bola them but don’t headshot with tranq arrows)

4. Use raw prime meat for a fast and easy tame

5. Optional if you have kibble but I could make your life easier: have a good supply of narco berries. (Narcotics recommend)

6. Once tamed there saddle is fairly simple to craft but metal ingots can be hard to get.

7. They have no turning raidous when flying.

8. There saddle has 3 seats ( one driver, two passengers,)

You can actually fly these in genesis get on the front seat then whistle it to go to a certain spot then do it again

Silly Survivor

At laaast tamed one of these bois really colourful and pretty rare I searched for a week and discovered the whole map they are usually found in redwoods what you gotta do is kill lots of things in the redwoods and wait for them to spawn then be ready with a bola if you feed it raw meet and starve tame it would tame about 20-30 mins so be ready to defend them.

Rare flowers good way to prevent them from flying away. Maybe with correct build could make a pin on quetz plat saddle to lure tape in.

In mobile :

Tip 1 : ride a raptor , pachyceph, terror bird or a equus and walk hım and tranq him (be sure not use headshots) than feed

Tıp 2 : use a rare flower to make tapejara agressive than bola hım

Tıp 3 : use pachyrhino than use red cloud to make tapejara agressive than bola him

Don’t knock it out far away from your base I did it because I Had an argy so come with bio toxin to keep its topor up

From the tapejara I’m taming it’s food has to be at around 2830 I knocked it out with 2 tranq darts, Run up to it and bola and it should be yours
