How to tame: (Also note you will need gillie suit)

1. sneak up on one and bola it

2. Tranq it or club it

3. Feed kibble or meat

4. 123 omg you have something that is almost impossible to tame

Clean the area around it and use a rare flower near it. It will try to attack you and you can bola it easily.

If you want to tame this big boy i prefer cloud save after seeing it then just try to bola hım if you accidentally kill it or lost it just get back to your cloud save

Good for Picking up unsuspecting players and killing them recommend them for servers.

I tend to find them alot in the red obelisk side of the red woods maybe this will help..?

It says these can be netted but I don’t think they can. I shot one three times with net projectile and on the third shot I know I hit because a saw a blood spatter animation which doesn’t seem appropriate for net gun anyways and it was never captured. Maybe a bug? Playing on PC lost Island. It ended up being easy to down with just two tranq darts tho so it wasn’t too much of a loss except the waste of three nets.

**THIS IS ONLY FOR THE MOBILE PLAYERS**

Well I'm not a pro player but if you found this guy you need:

1. Tranq arrows ( with crossbow only 3 but recommended to take 10)

2. Some Bolas in case you missed it

3. About 10 narcotics

4. About 15 row meat (I used)

5. And a flying creature with a saddle ( if you don't have one at least find some dilos so you can protect your buddy)

How to do:

First when you found one make sure you have your Bola and your bow or crossbow in your hot bar. Then make sure it don't see you so you can go closer or if it sees you far away it will fly away (it happed to me) if it flies away try using your flying creature. When get close to him or her use your Bola and trap it. **BOLA WON'T HOLD IT MUCH LONGER SO BE FAST** Then use your tranq arrows to make him unconscious then place your meat and narcotics in it's inventory then wait about 20 mins then it will be your buddy.

Make sure to keep it safe or you will have to do this again.

I was going to the green obelisk on my direwolf I passed a level 420 tapejara but it was to late I startled it and it flew away 😔😭😭😭 by the way they spawn near the Red obelisk

just a general tip . In ark mobile, i discoverd that sleeping then knocking will cause more hunger then just knocking and waiting or knocking then sleeping. This is how I got my Anklyo and tapejara, Gallimims’ Therizinosaurus etc...

The tapejara is the best flyer on the island(and the center)If u play pvp u have likely breeded these for a mobile sniper shootout and there ability to move from right,left,up and down in a second plus they can carry 3 people and has a tek saddle up so more people will tame a tapejara

Nobody mentions that the rare flower duration stacks so if you eat 50 thats 50 × 10 so you have alot of time just make sure nothing else aggros on you

So i tamed one and leveled it ip to max level by the end of me leveling it up it had 40k melee and then i got on it and realized it can fly backwards and to the sides up if this helps

I've been wanting to get since they are so beautiful but I hate the fact that they are so rare but I found one close to the swamp biome and one that was this beautiful violet color but HECK NO THEY ALWAYS FLY AWAY EVEN AT THE SLIGHTEST MOVEMENT AND EVERY TIME I SEE ONE I GET FRICKIN SWEATS THINKING THAT I CAN GET IT BUT NO!!!! they're more skittish than the cute Deer I tried to hand feed!!! anyway I found them near the green obelisk and the river near the redwood biome

Weapons can only be used if the player is sitting in the front or back seat; not the middle, driver’s seat.

There is a bunch of them at the red obelisk on scorched earth. :)

Switching seats on the tape will let it regen stamina in the air so you never have to land

Not very good for traveling but is amazing for taming things or doing risky work

If you use a low level tape you can tame another higher level tape by doing the target whistle and shooting at it mid air

If you all need help, I have some tips that I hope might help! Get Ghillie armor. Next Get bolas and 5 prime meat or More. Next Make sure to use weapons or A creature to kill near predators ( Trust me you should NOT have predators around the area. ) Next knock it out by using a bola. Make sure there aren’t Predators nearby.

Get narcotics To keep it unconscious. Have a Tapejara saddles. In a few minutes or more you’ll have a tapejara!

When trying to tame a lower level, USE TRANQ DARTS. I spent an hour looking for one and when I hit it in the head with an arrow, IT DIED. USE 1 DART TO THE HEAD. The frill on it doesn’t count as a hit, so aim for it’s mouth.

With this dino and a friend you can tame any flying mount that will attack you back. Have 1 friend in the back seat and another flying and shoot the creature you want. When it starts attacking have the driver fly forwards while the friend on the back shoots. You can get tons of argentavis's and snow owls using this technique.
