Craft nets with hexagons/missions

Trap:

8x stone fence foundations (mane must be on ground to sleep)

x16 walls

Trapping:

Locate one you want, place sleeping bags

Wait until day

Find a flat place *away from water* to build Trap

Net the one you want then kite away pack, leave render to reset AI

Now guide the one you want to the Trap and hover above and it should teleport in

Wait for it to aggro the walls then jet up out of render to reset aggro

Feed fish, do *not bump it*

IMPORTANT: When you have fish baskets if you put them in your hot bar and go into deep enough water the health bar of the basket resets!!! That way you can spend longer finding big fish and just keep getting the baskets wet till you are readyto tame your Shadowmane!

A trap that Alpha’s keep under wraps:

4 foundations

8 double door frame

4 hatch frame

16 stone walls

2x2stone foundation

Double door frames first level up

Then plate ceiling hatch frames above the foundations

Then stone wall box with no ceiling above that

Kite a shadowmane to attack you above the box and when it falls in get out of render distance as fast as possible so it stops attacking the trap. When it lays dow crouch beneath and feed it through the hatch frame.

One strategy is to ride a tame with ”apex” status (I have verified rock drake and karkinos) and build them in from its back. Then you can better separate the low level ones as well as ensure you can approach it right.

Put a tent over a fish, then put the basket down and catch the fish.

How to tame:

They only spawn in the Rockwell biome on genesis part 2, usually near rivers

To tame a shadow mane you need to get fish in a basket, the higher multiplier the quicker the taming speed. I recommend coelencath

Put the fish in your last slot of your hotbar.

During the day the shadow mane will occasionally lie down and sleep, only during the day.

However they do travel in packs, so I recommend aggravating one and leading it away from the pack.

If they aggro they will do their stun dash up at you and if I’m a pack they will all do it, getting you stuck and easy to kill, I know as it happened to me about 10 times

You can also trap it as well.

When it falls asleep you have to approach it from behind otherwise it will anger and lose all taming percentage.

To lower the chance of being detected wear a ghillie suit, or you can use the federation tek suit to stay in the air until it sleeps and land far enough away that it doesn’t wake up and close enough that it doesn’t take too long to approach.

Utility:

The shadow manes don’t have saddles but do have armour ratings.

The ultimate bar fills up when you attack, but if you kill something with the ultimate it refills immediately, side note, the ultimate effect looks dope.

Hold the jump button to do a charge jump, the longer you hold it the further it goes

You can also do the charge jump from in the water

They are really good swimmers

They have the stun dash attack which can hit any number of targets that is in the range of the attack, tested it with a lot of charge bugs in one foundation.

The stun dash can be done upwards and they will do that in the wild

With mate boost, the males can roar and boost the others in the pack, while the females can turn all creatures in a certain area invisible, without affecting movement speed. But if you go too far away you lose the invisibility.

Extra:

They are very good boss fight creatures, just look at syntac’s video.

They are incredibly fun to play around with

They are breedable

Naming:

I like to call mine the names from the lion king or if I’ve got too many, from thunder cats.

This is the only tip you need net it then trap it with Fence foundations and double doors then derender it so it loses Agro

It's a passive tame that requires you to have Gillie armor, you have to wait for it to sleep then feed it fish.

I can’t wait for this creature honestly the female can turn invisible and other creatures tamed around it invisible I don’t know what the male does but I can’t wait for the adventure with this creature

To tame your very own murder kitty, you want to have full ghilly armor/cactus soup. (both will make taming a LOT easier) Tame during the day because at night they won't sleep. Wait until it falls asleep crouch or crawl towards it and feed it a fish basket from the last slot in your hot bar (if the fish baskets are starting to spoil, put them in your hot bar and go into water. This will reset the spoil timer) after it's been fed once, it will turn invisible and start walking towards you, so watch out for it's footsteps. Track it, and repeat feeding until it's tamed.

Don’t feed them trilobites it moles the taming go to 0% 😭😭😭

The trap nooblets made makes it so that you don't have to worry much at all about the shadowmane seeing you, however, still be careful because if you get too close they can aggro and it's annoying to make them undo it (this is the link to the video https://youtu.be/zog8of25aac) (up to let more people see)

They fall asleep at 08:00 every day.

In fjordur it only sleeps from 8 am to 8 pm. Hope it helps.

Just in case it aggro’s you during tame, bring a net gun so it don’t kill you. Then leave render range to reset aggro.

They fall asleep as soon they eat a live thing so if you lure a idk a dilo or a patchy they will kill it then sleep

Sleep time starts at +- 8:30 till about 18:00 pm game time

On fjordur around where the shadomanes are located. You can harvest the wood to make the baskets. They look like white mushroom type plants. About half the height of your character. And the traps nooblets and others have shown on YouTube work too trap and tame the shadow’s as well I got a pair last weekend.

Assign fish to hotbar and jump into water and it will restart spoil timer useful when waiting for stubborn manes
