I was taming one and at 96% it decided to lay down in the god damn water

Rev PvP on YouTube has made a trap guide that doesn't require sneaking up or using ghillie. I think it's the best possible method. Search "Shadowmane trap rev pvp" it should pop up.

I have lost a total of 138382 brain cells trying to tame this thing. I learned that the fish must be size 1 or above. Any fish below that size will be rejected

Tried taming one today. Did not go well. It's a simple process but it can go wrong very easily. Ensure your new friend is alone. A pack of these will absolutely destroy you. Keep watch for any packs roaming near. If your shadowmane wanders into a pack, it won't leave. Recommend killing any that are new but be mindful they can knock you off your mount. That being said I had a wyvern with me which made escaping easy when I was knocked off as I only needed to wait a few seconds to mount again and fly off.

Not sure if it's a glitch but I noticed the tame meter does not go down but will reset every day. That being said you should have have plenty time to catch any extra fish without worrying about your tame meter.

The taming amounts aren’t necessarily correct, bring lots of extra fish. Lots.

You don’t need ghillie suit or cactus broth as long as you always approach from the back.

I’ve have just tamed a 145 on officials and is took about 30 fish all 1.0 or just above.

You can actually sneak up behind them crouched without gillie if your careful. When they are asleep of course. Do not attempt to tame a waked shadowmane.

To tame you have to wait for the Shadowmane to be asleep (easy to spot but has to by around noon in game) then feed them filled fish baskets with preferably 1.5x fish in it. Then use the tame tracker to track it as it will teleport away and you need to find it. I suggest bring a flier and some good weapons to kill the hostile creatures that will get in the way

You tame them using a fish in a basket with a weight of

.5 or more then when they "rest" you sneak up to them and feed them the fish baskets

Fish baskets the higher quality the better. Needs to be laying down and go up behind it. And feed

Male Shadowmane taming: Wait (at a distance) until it lays down on its own for a nap, then feed it a fish basket from your last item slot, filled with fish that have a quality of at least 0.5x, passive tame. You cannot interact with it while it's unconscious from a knockout.

To tame them they have to be sleeping. Passive sneak tame.

Be careful while trying to tame these beasts, they can teleport and stun you even if you're in the sky.

The shadow mane can only be tamed at daytime, when it sleeps. I only successfully tamed with fish baskets with a fish over x0, 5. Sneak up to it and put the basket with fish in it onto your last slot. Repeat until tamed. It will take a while. The type of fish in the basket will also count probably, but I didn't test that for now

Get a bunch of fish baskets a catch some fish. Bigger fish= Higher efficiency. You'll find them coiled asleep around Rockwells garden, approach them from behind while you're crouched and feed the the basket in your last slot, be sure to track them because the go invisible once fed. ONLY FEED IT WHENS ITS IN THE SLEEP ANIMATION. If it says "cannot be fed: Has Aggro", leave render distance and go back. They come in packs so try not to wake the others or you go

They are a PASSIVE tame during the DAY while they are ASLEEP. Use fishing baskets to catch fish and place in the taming slot and walk to to them to feed. They will briefly wake up and teleport away before falling asleep again. Just put on the tracker tame and you can keep up with them pretty easy. No saddle needed. Ride ‘em home. Happy arking.

You can only tame him in if its day. Then when he sleeps you must feed him with a fish basket. Prefer piranhia.
