Meet your new favorite creature! These things are awesome, they scale similarly to thylas and are bigger than them, they both can turn invisible but the female can also turn teammates invisible, when they attack they fill a meter which when filled lets you perform a more powerful attack by holding down the attack button, the can also do a dash attack that zooms through a bunch of creatures stunning them but not dealing alot of damage,the males can do a roar that makes things stronger and stuff, they can charge a jump that ZOOOMS over everything, if they are in the air long enough they’ll do a cool animation which looks even cooler with the particles from having full meter, these guys also have some awesome natural color regions, i just got one that looks like spider man, these guys also move slow enough that the game can load but fast enough to not feel slow, these guys have some of the best animations in the game and they just feel alive, oh and these guys get a pack boost and a hydration buff that occurs when they go in water, overall, one of the best dinos in the game and definitely one of the coolest.

I dont know if anyone know but when that blue bar turn into red and you hold left mouse button it does a powerful bite

It is better to have 2 people one on a flyer and the other on the ground with the Gilly suit the flyer would spot them out and make sure you don’t get spotted

-le sniff- I never see anybody gawking over people who have managed to tame a default critter, a default shadow would be awesome (I would consider a default as a critter with the previewed model colors) I know you can get these in the wild I just feel that the OG model colors are so epic, I feel ark should have “official community themes” which have mutated colors and form a color palette and would have a breeding line. I dunno, probably a dumb idea since there are like 100 colors but yeah. I dunno

How to tame a shadowmane

1. Go near a river and place a fish basket

2. Catch about 10-15 fish

3. Go to shadowmane

4. Give shadowmane the fish

5. Track tame

6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until tamed

7. Kill everything with your new shadowmane

Dude so this thing was so hard trame because you need to have PATIENCE. which I don’t have. The biggest thing is catching the fish in the basket. That takes a long time to do specially if you’re not a pro at it. I would lay fish baskets in a general area and sort of push the fish towards the basket. I found if I followed it, I could lure it to the baskets. Also it does help finding shallow water. Once that’s done it’s fairly easy to tame it. Just make sure to run like hell once you do feed it the fish. Then just rinse and repeat.

Gillie armour good pen = shadowmane

If you know how to force tame that is probably the best way to tame it unless you don’t like doing that.

Most people don’t know but you can have 1 rider and 1 passenger on the shadowmane! My friend figured this out!

To the guy who said that you should be able to place fish baskets near enemy structures, think of piranhas.

If close to some they aquatic hunters the teleport out of nowhere

When capturing fish, I definitely recommend a trap. I use 3-4 gateways and gates. Wait for it to stop moving and build the trap around it. It makes the process so much faster. And always kill the ducks.

A trap that worked extremely well for me was 4 foundations placed in a square. Than 8 double doorways placed around the edges, next is 4 hatch frames placed on top of the double doorways, than start placing 16 walls down on top of the hatch frames, it’s possible to do it with only 8 but the Shadowmane with be able to get out more easily. Then lure the Shadowmane in by either placing down ramps of letting the Shadowmane shock you and fall into the trap. Leave render distance immediately so the Shadowmane doesn’t hit you and escape and so the it looses aggro to the stone trap. Than come back and pop on your gilli and start the taming by crouching and going beneath the hatch frames through the double doors and feeding it.

For your first shadowmane trap, use 4 stone foundations, 16 stone walls, and 4 wooden ramps.

You really whant to tame this thing it is pretty fast and can jump incredibly far and are one of the fastest swimmers in the game they can also teleport behind enemies and go invisible

Build a 2 by 2 foundation with walls that are 4 high and drop your shadowcat in there. Almost never aggros to you and ya just feed it fish through the walls. Perfect tame every time definitely the best trap I know of :) happy hunting
