Traps! The importance of traps is underrated up for new bobs to see!

1. On the fjordur map Shadowmane do not teleport.

2. Your trap should be placed in central location at spawn point. On fjordur, placing traps on the small islands on bottom level is best as they are flat and manes follow you off cliffs easy.

3. I find the best trap on gen is 4 stone foundation 16 stone wall, 8 stone double doorframes, 4 hatch frames. Place bird or desmo in front of cage as shadow mane falls behind you when teleporting. Do not fly above box once caught.

4. On fhordur same trap but add 2 stone foundations going out for staircase support, place 8 stone stairs for ramp on one side. You know the drill, land next to chosen mane, fly lead it up ramp let it Vite you at top of ramp otherwise it runs right over.

5. Once mane is trapped I set up a box with sleeping bag just step over to the water grab my fish 10 at a time and will dive underwater for more spoil time. Go under hatch frames from BEHIND the shadowmane, sit under hatch framecross section and feed fish, sneak out for more fish after it goes invisible, rinse and repeat.

Is it normal that shadow manes glitch and don't fall asleep even when it's day?

Use a fish basket near a river bank and stand in the water until you get a Puranas attention and trap it when it is near the basket. Besides that I think Every creature needs female and male divination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use gen 2 for any anf all engram needs you can farm hexagons to buy the engrams if you are out and you can unlock any engram. Make a multistory trap and its a piece of cake use hatcframes ad the roof/floor and you can feed shadow through it and be safely inside

On fjordur you can harvest fungal wood to make fish baskets from small blue orb things on the ground in purple forests or big shroom-like stuff in oceans

Take 3 shadows ride 1 and have the other 2 follow close distance and set to attack your target and just go and chomp a Dino and let the follow shadows finish it

OR

find a spot that spawns lots of wild Dino’s and place 7 pillars on top of each other with a ladder on the side of the lowest pillar and place a Dino leash on top set the distance you want then leave a shadow in it on aggressive and low target distance then come back later and have 4K meat on it

use a skiff to bring to eden side

Use nothing but 2x and up quality fish will cause taming effectiveness to stay at 100%. A wild 150 shadowmane will tame out at a level of 225!

Best tip of all you can CRYO YOUR FISH just use the nets underwater to let your fish out and CRYO IT

Meet your new favorite creature! These things are awesome, they scale similarly to thylas and are bigger than them, they both can turn invisible but the female can also turn teammates invisible, when they attack they fill a meter which when filled lets you perform a more powerful attack by holding down the attack button, the can also do a dash attack that zooms through a bunch of creatures stunning them but not dealing alot of damage,the males can do a roar that makes things stronger and stuff, they can charge a jump that ZOOOMS over everything, if they are in the air long enough they’ll do a cool animation which looks even cooler with the particles from having full meter, these guys also have some awesome natural color regions, i just got one that looks like spider man, these guys also move slow enough that the game can load but fast enough to not feel slow, these guys have some of the best animations in the game and they just feel alive, oh and these guys get a pack boost and a hydration buff that occurs when they go in water, overall, one of the best dinos in the game and definitely one of the coolest.

I dont know if anyone know but when that blue bar turn into red and you hold left mouse button it does a powerful bite

It is better to have 2 people one on a flyer and the other on the ground with the Gilly suit the flyer would spot them out and make sure you don’t get spotted

-le sniff- I never see anybody gawking over people who have managed to tame a default critter, a default shadow would be awesome (I would consider a default as a critter with the previewed model colors) I know you can get these in the wild I just feel that the OG model colors are so epic, I feel ark should have “official community themes” which have mutated colors and form a color palette and would have a breeding line. I dunno, probably a dumb idea since there are like 100 colors but yeah. I dunno

How to tame a shadowmane

1. Go near a river and place a fish basket

2. Catch about 10-15 fish

3. Go to shadowmane

4. Give shadowmane the fish

5. Track tame

6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until tamed

7. Kill everything with your new shadowmane

Dude so this thing was so hard trame because you need to have PATIENCE. which I don’t have. The biggest thing is catching the fish in the basket. That takes a long time to do specially if you’re not a pro at it. I would lay fish baskets in a general area and sort of push the fish towards the basket. I found if I followed it, I could lure it to the baskets. Also it does help finding shallow water. Once that’s done it’s fairly easy to tame it. Just make sure to run like hell once you do feed it the fish. Then just rinse and repeat.
