What is a rock drake used for? rock drake battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I don’t know if anybody said this yet but you can heal adult rock drakes with nameless venom like herbivores with veggie cakes, also they will consume it by themselves when hungry, you can make them hungry by lowering their stamina and they will automatically heal themselves up
This creature is very handy because if it’s abilities here are them all:
1(with tek saddle) shoot bullets out off its armor
2 invisibility makes the creatures texture look like glass and makes it hard to see(tip go stang right next to something otherwise it wil be blurry and you will be spotted very fast
3 glide jump while running makes you fly but you can fly infinite it’s like a glider or elytra from Minecraft
4 acceleration glide when gliding gain some speed eventually you wil discover a crosshair in the middle of your screen if you bite when this happens you will shoot with high speed into the crosshairs direction
5 bite when you press LT or lmb you will perform a short range attack dealing big damage
6 climbing press rt to activate climb mode what makes you climb anything

(This is my favourite creature and I love it 💛🧡💙🤍
They’re like wyverns in many ways, one of which being that most nothing will attack them whilst riding unless provoked. (With the exception of Nameless and Reapers, because they’re bastards). However, something important to note is that if you have a second passenger (since the saddle is a two seater) anything aggressive that wouldn’t agro on you before — now will. Not sure if this is a bug or what, but the passenger can also get hurt, so be careful.
Good luck out there, survivors.
Appearance: a large lizard-like reptile with huge iridescent feathers on its front legs, tail and head, with bat-wing like ears similar to its distant relative the glowtail, drakes come in many colours, So far I've seen green and orange, red and blue, black and purple and a strange pale shade of green a bit like a very pale poison wyvern. Size: enormous, similar in length to a paraceratherium, around five meters tall, and possibly up to fifteen meters in length. Uses: it's not really a question of "what uses does it have?" It's more a question of "what uses doesn't it have?" Rock drakes can glide vast distances, climb vertically and even upside-down on almost any surface, warn of a nearby reaper with the glowing tips of its feathers, is decent in general combat and can wear plasma-shooting Tek saddles, camouflage making themselves nearly invisible even too other drakes, and glide away or climb a wall if the fight isn't going their way.
You hear people calling these “discount wyverns” i can guarantee they have never tamed a rock drake. They are easily the most versatile creature in the game and all though they can’t breathe fire, electricity or poison. As someone who has tamed both i can see without any form of question rock drakes are better than wyverns.
if you just got a rock drake the best place to practice with it is the abberant floating islands in the crystal isles. if you want to practice gliding go to one of the higher up islands and hold shift and press space. the directional controls are through the mouse.(this is for pc). for quick glide make sure your close to something and the crosshair appears through aming at a wall easily accessible through your current direction, then press left click. for climbing you need to be on a vertical wall and face up for going down and down for goingg up. c is used for going invisible... when you learn them you can go on wyvern and rockdrake runs with them. they are very good for them
I discovered that you can hatch Rock Drake eggs in the incubator for pc/console, the temperature needs to be down way down, Set it to -85 and your eggs should hatch, it works for me, I hope that this helps everyone to save time and materials, This is my first time submitting a tip so hopefully I didn't mess it up too badly.
