It's quite easy if you know how to do it. First, get a decent megalosaurus or spino (I used a wild tamed meg with 382% damage), you can easily get to the trench from the element falls. Then, pick ONE egg that you are targeting. Kill the rock drakes around it. Make Zipline paths to that one nest and grab the egg. Zipline back to your mount and run. If a rock drake attacks you before you are on the zipline, use an apprentice or higher shotgun to kill it. Good luck survivor! Enjoy your rock drake!

In one of the explorer notes of Mei Yin, she wrote that she tamed one of these guys with KO method using tranq arrows

The megalosaurus is good for raiding the rock drake trench but it cant jump up the ledges. The spino is better than the mega in every way. The karkinos is a great choice it can jump over the ledges but you will get stuck in mid air and the karkinos cant attack when in mid air, bring a shotgun if using a crab, it will also take forever for you to get back up. The reaper is the best choice in aberration strong as the spino but can jump like karkinos. The absolute best choice is the tek hover skiff.

If you have the ability to go to genesis I highly recommend you tame a bloodstalkers for one of these litteraly 5 minutes ago I got my first Drake egg with a bloodstalke and it was lvl 185. Keep in mind it was official small tribes

Use climbing pick's to climb up to a nest and make sure that there are no Drake's then take the egg and glide out on a wingsuit. You can out-glide a Drake.Stay clear of the water and a have a shoulder pet to stop the Nameless. Have a hazard suit on and you need like 20 air conditioning units to make it hatch. Feed it Nameless venom to raise.

Best method for stealing eggs: Tame 2 megalosaurus (opposite gender) and breed them. Your imprinted baby will be the one you ride on. Then, you take your imprinted megalo and the opposite gender for mate boost. Btw each megalo should have at least 14k hp and 320 melee. Use this method for easy first drake.

I highly recommend getting a Desmodus to steal Rock Drake eggs from Fjordur. At night you can fly in while invisible and land next to a nest without any aggro. Once you get an egg, in can quickly fly out of the cave again!

Easiest way to get a Rock Drake:

On Fjordur, go to Asgard

Look for the purple/pink trees

There should be a cave on the edge of the Aberrant forest

(You would need a hazard suit)

Bring any hard-hitting dino

(Even a Rex can fit into the cave)

Clear the cave and collect the eggs

The cave is flat and the ceiling is low so you wouldn’t need to climb

Nameless venom can be found the the aberrant cave on Fjordur (56.5 84.6)

There are orange and black rocks around the cave

(Bring a strong dino cause there are Drakes and Karinos)

One nameless should be enough for a drake

Remember Drake eggs need to be VERY cold

On Fjordur use doedi in abberant cave to harvest these orange stones…

Bring good tame to clear the cave

As of the 10/27 update, RockDrake breeding is vanilla setting for console players.

I just tamed one be careful, they take like 21 AC‘s to hatch.

Me and my group of three friends will be attempting to steal three eggs from these fellows using 6 spinos ( 4 are fully imprinted) 3 hazard suits a riot shield each and 10 climbing picks. And obviously wing suits

I used a very effective method but it sounds like a joke, but it works fine: use a gasbag, 20-30 vegatible cakes for gasbag healing and like 10-15 stacks berries for gasbag food and at least 2 hazard suits. You can easily fly down to the spots where the nests are, then fly to the nests, steal the eggs, fly to the entrance of the complex and repeat it. Important: if you want to play safe, then only take the nests on the highest spots, because if you go for the lower spots, it can happen, that an army of drakes stuck you into a nest and your gasbag and you will die. If the cakes are empty, you have to go back to the "non radiation zone", cause after a time without healing the radiation is too much dmg for the gasbag. But this method only works fine, if you a) can control the gasbag and b) the gasbag should have at least 6-10k hp, 2-2,5k stamina and over 100k oxygen. And don't forget to regain stamina and gas every time.

I took 2 hazmat suits 2 gliders 2 zip line motors 20 zip line and almost didn't make it out. Grab red Crystal when you're down their you'll need 100 for the saddle

Guys I got a ton easy on Fjordur with a good lvl andrew first of all I found the trench (I know shocking) and I went in most important part is that is has a saddle so now your in the trench dismount quickly grab the egg and remount even without hazmat suit this is ez way to get egg 👌👌

The best route to their nests is by dropping down a huge ciff located at the blue zone (very close to the green zone) that leads you straight into the element chamber. After that you just gotta follow the path to your left. Im pretty confident that if you do this strat you cant run into any reapers, at least I never encountered one.

Rock drakes arw one of the best dinos probably top 5 in ab it’s just annoying you have to get a lots of acs caves is good health high melees good caves probably no1 use in ab fjordur 3 or 2 gliding relay good not maewing hut good other than acs snf stealing the egg no complaints

Just spawn a couple in in the aberration zone on crystal isles and the eggs will appear in the nests. Bring it up with a deodon so you don’t need nameless venom. This also mean you can tame a basilisk
